It always cracks me up about how much this actress talks about human trafficking and the like while one of her siblings makes her living selling herself.
Yeah.. thought of that too. Crusading against human trafficking doesn't suddenly become laughable due to a sibling whose conduct you have no control over.
Comparing human trafficking to prostituting oneself is like comparing being robbed to donating money, one is voluntary and the only one "hurt" (if anyone) is the person doing it.
I love this guess but didn't Lohan shoot that doc years ago. Long before she started, ahem, yachting. Agree with all there is no comparison whatsoever....
Choosing to be a sex worker, thereby controlling your own body, is not the same as sexual slavery which includes things like kidnapping and torture. Also the implication that they are in this instance is misogynistic.
It is how you define voluntary. Thise who have become addicted and then get " put out" by their " men" - are not what I would call voluntary sex worker. Very few are " the Pretty Woman" fantasy. Too many do have manic depression or past abuse - the drugs they used to escape the reality often becomes what chains them to it- despite having families who desperately do want to help them
