I guess she could be considered a permanent A list celebrity in some circles. Back in the day, she was notable mostly for her relationships with some very famous men of the era and not for any particular talent of her own. She appeared on the scene as a teenager and her charming personality and unique looks were successful in getting a lot of doors opened. She was hungry for notoriety and worked the scene hard. She finally succeeded in pushing her way into the inner circle of the A+ group of young people at that time. She wasted no time getting involved with the most famous guy in the group and introduced him to drugs and lifestyle choices that were really bad. (And eventually contributed to his demise years later.) In spite of her cute appearance and beguiling personality, she was a ruthless control freak and schemer who wanted fame and fortune for herself.
She eventually got tired of this first man when he got too strung out on drugs and started having legal and financial problems. She coldly dumped him and decided to zero in on another man in the circle who also became very famous in his niche as a musician. Her pursuit of this man was not an easy task. He hated to be tied down and had many relationships with other women. He would disappear on her for weeks or months at a time and was never faithful to her, ever. In spite of that, she would not give up and after a couple of years, manipulated him into marrying her. She claimed to be pregnant and talked him into marrying her so that their child would be "legitimate" on paper. Of course, there was no baby. Although this guy was extremely talented, he was not very savvy and the quickie marriage was a bad idea, for many reasons, but mainly because there was no prenup.
After marrying her and realizing he had been duped, he of course reverted back to his old habits. This went on for a few years until the musician had a terrible accident that almost killed him. The wife ran to his side immediately and took over caring for him while he was recovering. During this time, the musician became addicted to medications for pain and was often in a drugged stupor. When his friends and colleagues expressed concern to the wife that he was over medicating, they were told to mind their own business. During that time, the wife was also able to get the musician to sign legal documents guaranteeing her a bigger piece of his financial pie. Several of his close friends knew what had happened, but could not intervene, just because this wife was ruthless and isolated the musician while he was recovering from his injuries.
The friends had also long since come to realize that underneath the charming exterior lived a very ruthless and dark individual and they just did not want to tangle with her. The musician did recover finally, but his health was never the same again. He also resumed his old ways with other women and really did not live with his "wife" on a regular basis ever again. The musician later died fairly young from complications relating to the previous accident. What makes this story interesting is that there was also another woman who this musician was involved with for years. Because of where they lived, this woman was legally recognized as the musician's common law wife. (We'll call her Wife #2.) The situation with Wife #2 was well known to those close to the musician. Unlike Wife #1, Wife #2 was very well liked by everyone in the musician's family and inner circle of friends and colleagues. Unbeknownst to Wife #1, the musician also had a child with Wife #2.
Wife #2 knew about the Wife #1 situation, but was not concerned about it because the musician had not lived with her for years and she was not interested in fame. She knew her relationship with the musician was very solid, which towards the end of the musician's life, it really was. Wife #1, of course, went ballistic when she found out about this other family after the musician's death. This is because she realized that she was not going to inherit the bulk of the musician's estate as she had expected to. Wife #1 was also enraged that their mutual friends had helped hide the other family from her for years. As you can imagine, a huge probate fight erupted over the estate of the musician and it dragged on for quite a while. Wife #1 demanded a DNA test on the child and also tried to have the common law marriage between Wife #2 and the musician declared invalid. It was ugly but amazingly the public really didn't know much about it because a savvy Judge closed the proceedings and sealed all the documents
Friends and colleagues of the deceased musician gave testimony and affidavits expressing concern about the legal paperwork that the musician signed for Wife #1 while recovering from his accident years earlier, and also testified that the musician considered Wife #2 his true wife. Wife #1 was enraged and made several extremely ugly scenes in and out of court. The Judge finally ruled that the estate would have to be split up between Wife #1 and Wife #2 and the child of the musician. So in the end, Wife #1 only got 1/3 of the estate, and the Judge threw out the legal documents the musician signed for Wife #1 because he determined that they had been signed while the musician had been incapacitated medically. Wife #1 threatened to appeal but ultimately took the money and ran. She has since gone on to publicly present herself as the grieving widow of this musician, much to the disgust of the people who know the real story. She constantly inserts herself into situations and events involving his friends and former colleagues, almost like an unwanted and annoying stalker. For a while, these friends and colleagues tried to be civil to her, but as time has gone on, have become intolerant to her charade.
The last straw came recently when she forced herself into a project one of the dead musician's friends was working on. In some film footage of the project, the friends of the musician can barely hide their contempt for this woman. Wife #1 has also been lobbying for a documentary film to be made about her life and relationship with the musician, and is trying to sell herself and the project as culturally important. The real problem is that she is almost out of money, so there are also rumors of a tell all book in the works as well. In contrast, wife #2 and her child have chosen to live away from the spotlight. But that may not be the case for long-- Wife #1 is about to get a big surprise from Wife #2. It turns out that Wife #2 is getting married again soon and Wife #1 is going to lose her mind when she finds out about it. Turns out that Wife #2 is engaged to marry one of the dead musician's best friends, who is now even richer and more famous than he was. Wife #1 has attempted to ensnare this man on and off for years. She is so delusional that she does not realize how much he detests her. She is going to go crazy when she finds out about this marriage.
Courtney Love?
ReplyDeleteExcept that Kurts death wasnt related to a "prior accident ".
ReplyDeleteUp until Wife #1 still being alive it sounded like a Paula Yates and Michael Hutchence thing. so I am stumped.
ReplyDeleteMakes me think of Anita Pallenberg.
ReplyDeleteNo idea the 2 I thought of don't fit. (Randy Travis, Joe Cocker)
ReplyDeleteTeddy Pendergrass
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing story. Someone has to figure this out! I sure can't...
ReplyDeleteJim Morrison, Paula Courson (girlfriend/CL wife, only survived Morrison by 3 years) to whom he left everything by will, Patricia Kenneally ("wife" due to pagan wedding ceremony). The Courson parents and the Morrison parents ended up splitting the remains of the estate.
ReplyDeleteRichards is still alive though, and I'm not sure in what circle if any she'd be permanent A list. Good guess though; I'm stumped atm.
ReplyDeleteCourson's dead, though. How can she be engaged to a new fella?
ReplyDeleteKeith Whitley and Lorrie Morgan? He had a really bad wreck when younger, and was on pills, she's had many, high profile relationships. Can't figure out wife #2 yet though.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely drawing a blank on this.
ReplyDeleteI think the musician is Jerry Garcia. The woman is his wife Carolyn Adams, "Mountain Girl" from the Merry Pranksters, and the first famous man would be the writer Ken Kesey. Not sure how she is A list, but maybe among Deadheads?
ReplyDeleteThe Brat Pack is what popped into my head for the first part but couldn't get any of the actresses to fit
ReplyDeleteNope, although I see how you could think so. The Woman sounds more like Deborah Koons, although it could also be Manasha what's her name. But, if so, what is the accident? Unless he's referring to Garcia's diabetic coma....hmmm.
ReplyDeleteI just scrolled to the comments to see the guesses in order to decide if it was worth reading the narrative ... I'm shameful.
ReplyDeleteI thought Jerry Garcia also, but he had a few different wives and quite a few kids.
ReplyDeleteParts of it read like the Ramones, but I don't know enough to know if the 'wife two' part does, although Johnny had many very famous friends.
ReplyDeleteI like this guess.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who the people involved are, but it seems extremely unlikely that a judge would take the inheritance of a legally-married wife and give part of it to some other woman. The child, maybe, but not the girlfriend. Plus, if the musician was drugged into signing paperwork in favor of the first wife, why didn't he rescind those papers when he got better. I smell a rat
ReplyDeleteAs far as Jerry Garcia goes, his first wife is a hippy earth mother type, very kind and nice who got majorly shafted. The last wife seems like a bitch on wheels
ReplyDeleteI thought it was Michael Hutchence too.
ReplyDeleteIt could be -- Johnny was badly injured in 1983 -- but he died of cancer, and the blind states that the musician died from "complications relating to the previous accident." Also, I'm not sure that Linda Ramone is A-list in any circles. But this seems like the best guess so far.
ReplyDeleteI think we might want to discount the "she could be considered a permanent A list celebrity" given some recent reveals. That's a real killer for this one.
ReplyDeleteGreat point
ReplyDeletestevie ray vaughn.
ReplyDeleteMountain girl's baby was Kesey's not Garcia's.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who this is but I don't think this happened in the US. There are several countries where a common law partner carries as much weight as a legal spouse. I hope we get a reveal on this.
ReplyDeleteJerry Hall?Got engaged to Brian Ferry (Roxy Music) in 1975/76, left him for Mick Jagger, who left Bianca for her....
ReplyDeleteNah...none of them are dead yet.
I have a feeling the Beach Boys are involved in this novel....
ReplyDelete@nancer,I don't think Stevie Ray had any children. The problem the Jerry Garcia guess has is he had several children, they would be involved in the inheritance. Is it. Possible the people lived in another country? The rules regarding common law marriage in the US are pretty strict, and never apply if the first marriage isn't a finalized divorce.
ReplyDeleteJudges in liberal areas, such as California, NYC, or Washington or Oregon, to say nothing of some non-USA jurisdictions, take a much more open view of marriage. When treated as a purely legal contract, it is very open to interpretation. A quickie marriage, one in which they lived apart for long periods and one or more parties didn't treat it as a marriage (numerous infidelities), doesn't look like a marriage. No. 1 allowing that makes it look like SHE didn't consider it a real marriage. Follow that with a relationship in which the party acted as though it were a relationship, holds weight in the judges eyes. Biological children and surviving "spouses" carry tremendous weight. I suspect that the musician left a will that gave most of his money to No. 2 and his daughter. But the courts don't let you leave a legal spouse "nothing." It can be accomplished via trusts and specific estate planning, but you can't die and leave all your assets to people while leaving nothing to a surviving spouse. The courts don't like that.
ReplyDelete.
It is possible that he left no. 1 nothing, and the courts stepped in to modify the probate. No. 1 challenging probate indicates to me that she got nothing. It's possible she got a lot and protested that the others got a little, but I think it more likely that she got very little while family 2 got a lot. By pushing back in court, she got it thirded, which was probably still enough money to live on.
I feel like this is about Zsa Zsa, lol
ReplyDeleteI want to make Carmen Electra Prince recently deceased but she was with him young and Dennis Rodman quickie no prenuptial but I'm stumped here
ReplyDeleteRecently Canada has given common law marriage very specific rights, especially when a child is born during the time it is claimed. This blind assumes we would know the first wife if we heard the name.
ReplyDeleteI do that too with the long ones. I get oissed if I read through a long ass post only to find out the best guess is Real Housewife or someone from The Batchelor.
ReplyDeleteI think Pallenburh is a good guess. Most famous stone at time might have been Brian Jones. Drug addiction his "accident". Anna Wohlin as the common law wife.
ReplyDeleteWild guess but did dj am have any kids?
ReplyDeleteIt's a good blind! Complicated, but quite the interesting puzzle...
ReplyDelete@Jennifer I thought Beach Boys too.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Same here. I'm like, what a waste of my life.
ReplyDeleteIs this Marc Bolan from T Rex?
ReplyDelete"In spite of that, she would not give up and after a couple of years, manipulated him into marrying her. She claimed to be pregnant and talked him into marrying her so that their child would be “legitimate” on paper. Of course, there was no baby." Wow? I real-life Soraya Montenegro.
ReplyDeleteThis blind sounds old, though, so I imagine the makeup/prosthetic technology wasn't so advanced, either... How did they pull it off, Enty?
I'm stumped too. But I think we are stuck too much on the musician. It could be a nobody, maybe a back-up singer or an instrumentalist for a famous band. I think the more famous blind, at least based on this narrative, is the Wife #1. The Wife #2 also does not sound like she is famous.
ReplyDeleteWho is an "A" list female celebrity who is a widower (of some sort of musician)?
though it doesn't work perfectly, another combo I'd throw out there. Faith Evans and Biggie?
ReplyDeleteI got nothin'. So hard to make all the pieces fit. At first I thought this was much too long to read, but now I'm hooked. I have to check back to see if someone manages to solve this mystery.
ReplyDeletePatrick, CA doesn't have a bunch of "liberal" judges with some free floating interpretations of marriage. common law marriage doesn't exist in CA only formally legalized ones. A CA judge would have split the estate between wife 1 and the child and it wouldn't have mattered how much wife 1 and the musician lived apart. My read on this blind is that the parties lived in a state that recognized common law marriage, which is what the musican had with "wife" 2.
ReplyDeleteI read it is Yoko & Jhon.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason.
nvm it does say "very famous" as a musician. this one is tough...
ReplyDeletePamela Des Barre and ?
ReplyDeleteCould this be Scott Weiland with some red herrings thrown in?
ReplyDeleteI was thinking Patti Boyd, but not all the details fit. Though she's certainly had a complex love life involving musicians, like this gal.
ReplyDeleteBlack musicians, country, something like that.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Detective LaToya when you need her?
ReplyDeletecan't be jerry hall but she did just marry rupert murdich who is filthy rich.
ReplyDeleteClue Cipher:
ReplyDelete1. Famous musician not publicly known to have any children.
2. Famous in his own "niche": Wouldn't be a major rock star. Probably something like a saxophonist, big band, metal band, or something less than mainstream but still well known.
3. Legally married to one woman: Only one known wife.
4. Was in a accident at some point during fame.
Look for a dead famous musician that was involved in an accident early in his career with only one wife and no children. The wife is still alive.
I seriously think that she is a psychopath. Jesus this is horrible.
ReplyDeleteThink along the lines of Bob Marley, Brian Seltzer, or Sam Cook. Very well known men that are famous in there own little "niche" but not major rock stars like the Rolling Stones or Beatles.
ReplyDeleteYou would probably know his name but couldn't name on of his songs without googling him.
The only guess I could come up with is Iman and David Bowie. Her first husband was a successful NBA player. But this would be shocking obviously.
ReplyDeleteI think it might be one of the plane crash surviving members of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds a lot like the Jerry Garcia story. With red herrings. Colorado still has common law marriage recognition. (Or used to). I wonder if this could also be related to John Denver.
ReplyDeleteThis all starts with a very famous group of young people who appear not to have all been musicians. My first thought is Warhol's Factory and Velvet Underground. Lou Reed would be a candidate were it nor for the obscurity of his first wife and the enduring fame of his second.
ReplyDeletethrow Australia into the mix as giving some weight to common law marriages.
ReplyDeletePriscilla presley elvis now dating Tom jones
ReplyDeleteI thought John Lennon and Yoko for wife 1 and May Pang for girlfriend/wife 2. But it says that she is about to marry someone more famous - there is no-one more famous than John Lennon surely?!
ReplyDeleteThis is driving me nuts!!! 1st guy had to be lead singer, developed drug issues which contributed to his, "later demise" she dumped him for either the drummer or guitar player? Scammed him into marriage. He had some sort of accident which contributed to his death. I first thought Lynard Skynard but doesn't match with all of the clues.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Jan Berry from Jan & Dean??
ReplyDeleteregarding Jan Berry: He also had separated from his girlfriend of seven years, singer-artist Jill Gibson, later a member of the Mamas & the Papas for a short time, who also had co-written several songs with him. Berry was in a coma for more than two months; he awoke on the morning of June 16, 1966.
ReplyDeleteawww nevermind... WIFE, not girlfriend. :(
ReplyDeleteBrian & Anita weren't married.
ReplyDeleteJackie Wilson almost fits
ReplyDeleteI was thinking lynrnd sknyrd as well, we all know the band but not all the members. Several of them were in serious car accidents, one was paralyzed . I don't know how the first wife would be A list, maybe she was well known to hard core fans? It has to be someone they would make a movie about , skynrd fits that part, young enough for the new marriage of the second wife to be news worthy.
ReplyDeleteSam cooke is an a list music legend. One of the founders of modern music.
ReplyDeleteThis is driving me nuts too- a couple people coming to mind for me are Steve Clark of Def Leppard and Joe Strummer of The Clash.. showing my age here LOL but I am also wondering if could somehow be Prince-related with a lot of red herrings. Mayte G. is writing a book- I saw it available for pre-order on Amazon. I also wonder if the use of the word 'accident' is a metaphor for something else that was health related (as in Prince's issues which were kept secret)
ReplyDeleteBut how many people can name one of his songs. Hes really well know by name only now.
ReplyDeleteYESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWife #1 = Carolyn "Mountain Girl" Adams
ReplyDeleteA+ group = Merry Pranksters
Man #1 = Ken Kesey
Husband = Jerry Garcia (had been in a serious car accident which almost killed him)
Wife #2 = ??? He had so many, it's hard to say
Best Friend that wife #2 is marrying = I have no idea
This is a tough one to solve, but Jerry Garcia and Carolyn Adams fit the best.
I think this is Jim Morrison.
ReplyDeleteThe career has to be somewhere in the late 1970's to the mid 2000's. That would make the common law wife young enough to be re-marrying now or soon to a much richer/more successful man.
ReplyDeleteLets face it: musicians are shallow and like young wives.
I do like the Prince theory: Hollywood does like to gloss over the real reason behind things. Calling his issues an 'accident' could fit. But he has like 1000 freakin people trying to get to his money. The blind says the estate was settled 3 ways. so this person probably died before 2016 to have the estate already settled.
That was my first thought too. But, I don't know of her dating any other musicians directly after their divorce.
ReplyDeleteI like this guess. The wife would definitely be able to cash in on this.
ReplyDeleteThe more I think about it, the more I think it has to be Jerry Garcia and Mountain Girl
ReplyDeleteWife #1: "Mountain Girl" Carolyn Garcia - probably considered "a" list in the "Deadhead" circle.
Famous Group of Young People (not sure how they are A+, though): Merry Pranksters
Most Famous Guy in that Group: Ken Kesey or Neal Cassady
Musician: Jerry Garcia
Accident: Jerry's diabetic coma in 1988, leading to his death from a drug related heart attack at age 53 in 1993.
Wife #2: Deborah Koons
Musician's Friend: Bob Dylan. There was a rumor that he recently got engaged, no mention of who.
None of these guesses fit! I have no idea!
ReplyDeleteI just read up on the famous "groupies" to see if any match for wife #1. I haven't found any links. Maybe more recent 80's/90's as suggested. Maybe Def Leopard, Metalica, Megadeth, etc. Enty has spoken about some bands in past must maybe one of those relates.
ReplyDeleteThe Garcia angle sort of works, but Koons doesn't fit as the second wife. She doesn't have a child with Jerry that emerged out of the woodwork to become a threat to Carolyn's financial well being. And Carolyn hasn't lived her life in the spotlight mooching off of her fame or Garcia's fame. Koons actually has been the deviant one, cutting off Carolyn's alimony after Jerry died. She's also been trying, for over a decade, to generate money from the archival tapes of Jerry Garcia, recently suing the Jerry Garcia Estate LLC over rights to the tapes.
ReplyDeletehttp://courthousenews.com/jerry-garcia-family-at-war-over-grateful-dead-tapes/
So, if this is about Jerry, enty has got several facts a little mashed up (which makes it more confusing)..
1) I think Koons could be Wife #1, as she was involved with Jerry from the early 70's, and could have been considered a 'common law' wife herself, because Jerry was still married to Adams at the time. She disappeared, but came back into his life in the late 80's, and they officially married in 1994 (after the divorce with Carolyn was official).
2) Manasha Matheson would be Wife #2. They met in the late 70's, lived together a long time, and 'married' in 1990 (not official, because legally he was still married to Adams). They had a daughter, Keelin Noel Garcia, who could have been kept a secret from Koons when she re-entered the picture. Keelin Noel had to sue for support some time ago, and Koons was the defendant in the case.
http://www.marinij.com/article/zz/20061227/NEWS/612279975
The problem is.. who is the new more famous celebrity Matheson is about to marry? I suppose you could go with the Dylan guess (rumor was debunked, last I read). She is a visual artist, and he has always dabbled in the medium, even owning a gallery (Halcyon Gallery) in London.
To me, the Garcia one really strains to work, but there are still a few too many holes, imo, to cover for enty's tendency to be a little loose with the details.
Allen Collins was paralyzed in a car crash that killed his then "girlfriend." He later died from pneumonia as a result of the paralysis. The only living member from the original lineup is Gary Rossinton who's been with Dale since the 80s. He was previously married but he had children with Dale. To my knowledge, he and Artimus Pyle are the only ones in the plane crash still alive today. Artimus had enough issues with his ex girlfriend and he's not with anyone now.
ReplyDeleteMy longer reply didn't post for whatever reason, so short answer:
ReplyDeleteJerry Garcia theory has holes in how enty has worded it, and I don't think it would be Adams and Koons. I think, if this is it, Koons would be Wife #1, and Manasha Matheson Wife #2.
- Carolyn Adams has not made a life mooching off of others fame.
- Koons doesn't have a child with Garcia.
- Carolyn Adams knew of Koons early on.
- Koons met Garcia in early 70's, came back to him in the late 80's (around the time of his diabetes issues).
- Matheson 'married' Garcia in 90, but marriage was not legal (he was still legally married to Adams). They had a daughter together.
- Koons married Garcia in '94, after Adams and Garcia's divorce finalized.
- Koons has been trying to make money off of Garcia's legacy for years, suing his estate over rights to his archival tapes.
- Matheson's daughter, Keelin Noel Garcia, was kept from receiving support from Garcia's trust by Koons. She had to sue to get support.
- Koons was not included in the Jerry Garcia Estate LLC, which is why she is suing them over rights to the tapes.
The biggest hole is, who is the celebrity bigger than Garcia that Matheson is marrying? The Bob Dylan rumor was debunked, but that doesn't mean that Enty didn't buy that rumor as true.
Blinds for me are my version of picking up a tabloid. So when I'm bored I read them and immediately forget about them. Never left a comment before. But, God, for some reason like the people above...this is driving me crazy!
ReplyDeleteI am still wondering if this could somehow fit with my earlier Joe Strummer guess: (from wiki)
ReplyDelete"In 1975, after being offered £120, Strummer married Pamela Moolman, a South African citizen, so she could obtain British citizenship. He bought his signature Fender Telecaster, later painted black, with the money. In 1978, Strummer started a relationship with Gaby Salter shortly after her 17th birthday. The couple remained together for 14 years and had two daughters, Jazz and Lola, but did not marry as Strummer had been unable to locate and divorce Moolman. During his relationship with Salter, he had multiple affairs spanning the 1980s.
In 1993, Strummer began an affair with Lucinda Tait, which finally ended his relationship with Gaby Salter. Strummer and Tait married in 1995 and remained so until his death in 2002 from cardiac arrest"
From my experience with this site...if someone is unable to figure it out and put the pieces together, then the story Enty wrote above has stuff switched around or a little off, to throw people off and make it more difficult to guess. Someone above is probably super close or has nailed the answer, even though a few things don't fully line up.
ReplyDeleteJonny Ramon. It all fits. Linda Ramon just announced an autobiography yesterday. She previously dated Joey Ramone (at age 16), accident, almost died in 1983, CBGB being the group of people.
ReplyDeleteClem Burke, aka Elvis Ramone, as the friend?
ReplyDeleteOkay my first try got deleted. Chris Wood and Jeanette Jacobs almost fit. Plus she dated Jimi Hendrix before marrying Chris. Wife #2???
ReplyDeleteVerikeri -- THANK YOU! I think you got it. It's been driving me nuts trying to figure out the puzzle. I think Johnny Ramone/Linda Daniele fits perfectly:
ReplyDeleteFamous friend group
Infamous rift between Joey and Johnny over Linda
Young groupie at CBGB
Very bad brain injury sustained in a fight
My first post! Lurking in the shadows for years. I couldn't sleep last night, and dug around for hours. It's almost perfect fit!
ReplyDeleteI agree!! Linda Ramone fits. I sounds as if she's in need of money to maintain her house of collectibles and lifestyle. And maybe filming had to be this past October when they unveiled, "Ramones Way", in front of the high school the 4 attended?
ReplyDeleteYup...
ReplyDeleteMusician: Johnny Ramone
Wife: Linda Daniele
Girlfriend he had a child with: Cynthia "Roxy" Whitney
I posted this before, but it didn't show up. Posting again.
ReplyDeleteMusician: Johnny Ramone
Wife: Linda Daniele
Girlfriend of 20 years: Cynthia "Roxy" Whitney's
OH! Verykeri thank you!
ReplyDeleteIn what world is Linda Ramone A list? Even in the Ramone's punk scene?
ReplyDeletePlus they were never divorced.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I thought this was an earlier time with Sammy Davis Jr. , who had a car accident almost died in 1954. Had one child adopted three
ReplyDeleteJerry Garcias 1st wife was Sara Ruppenthal, married in 1963, 2nd wife was Carolyn "mountain girl" Garcia, together during the 60's and 70's split up over Jerry's Heroin use and dating Debra Koons, And married for tax purposes backstage @ Oakland Dead Show NYE 1981. They divorced and he married Debra Koons in 1993.
ReplyDelete@Rorer714, it probably is the Jerry Garcia situation, with a dozen re herrings. His diabetic coma called an accident, blaming his wife for him being an addict, calling the second wife the first and the third the second. Mountain Girl was pretty famous in the early days, and reading the legal mess that the estate was in,I'm concluding that his third marriage was in fact legal, but the court gave her credit as a common law wife during the time they lived together before marriage, but after the divorce from mountain girl. And if you are old enough to remember,Mountain Girl Was a big part of the Dead history, and should be represented in the film accurately. Many famous people who have films made about them cut out a big piece of their life because of divorce, fighting in general, and not wanting to pay or wanting to portray them inaccurately.
ReplyDeleteJim Morrison / Pamela / Patricia Keneally, except all dead 🤔
ReplyDelete
