This A+ list mostly movie actor who also directs is doing his best to get out of making the next installment of a franchise. He will make it if forced but would love for them to say they found a replacement. He is miserable.
Don't they drug test Affleck? He may be ready to go to rehab, but fears what the consequences are. He is in no shape to do it,why would he try to get fired? They dumped his as director probably to make it easy for him. I also wondered if he used steroids to get in shape quickly, he has the type of body I see on some athletes when they quit, plus the depression, etc.
Affleck is such a loser. He and Snyder have made such a mess of the DCEU. He will lose all his little fans after this debacle, if he really quits that is.
And he has to work with "I'm a star, look at me" Joe Manganiello. I'd want out too. I mean Joe was asked to leave a FOX show (oh, sorry.. "scheduling conflicts") for his behavior. ("Scream Queens").
He's out as co-writer/director, but was still supposed to play Batman. His story for not directing is that he did not feel he could put the time into acting & directing while maintaining a high level of quality. That's Ben's story, but there are rumors that WB knows he is a mess & not trying to get sober & they do not want to risk a billion dollar franchise because of a drunk. It is only a matter of time before he is no longer Batman.
He's probably butt-hurt bc even with his name attached to the project it failed. Miserably. Affleck has ALOT of problems...this franchise is the least of them.
I think this is it. He's already formally quit as director for the new Batman movie, which he also, by the way is producing, starring in, and co-writing. .
There is quite a bit of ongoing speculation about him quitting as the actor too. Hasn't happened yet. It might. . it might not. As to why, well, allegations of substance abuse can't be helping, but that might not be all of it:
Ben Affleck - Batman
ReplyDelete+1:)
ReplyDeleteDoesn't wanna have to get in shape and off the booze again!
Chris Evans?
ReplyDeleteAffleck
ReplyDeleteArgh! There were no comments when I posted!
ReplyDeletelol, probably so, although I think he's also been caught up in an honest to goodness middle age crisis. Just a hunch.
ReplyDeleteIt's maddening, I know..

ReplyDeleteHe is paunchy middle-aged Grey haired with coke and booze pills bloat who knows he can't pull it off and doesn't want another superhero disaster
ReplyDeleteI suppose to people who follow DCEU,this isn't a blind. Affleck wants out, and it would be best for him and everyone else if he is.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this old news if Affleck?? I thought he's already out.
ReplyDeleteHarrison Ford. Heard another Indiana Jones was in the works. May the "force" be with you. On a side note, He seems like a nasty miserable person.
ReplyDeleteOops Ford has never directed. I bow to the Affleck guess.
ReplyDeleteBen Affleck. Chris Evans (who also wants out, as previously mentioned) isn't A+ list.

ReplyDeleteI agree with everything except the graying hair part. He is bald and has been wearing a weave for 15 years
ReplyDeleteIt's all over the movie gossip sites. Good luck finding a suitable replacement.

ReplyDeleteGood-get out of the long past due Batman train wreck. I'd rather see Ben get to work on Accountant part 2

ReplyDelete+1 on The Accountant. Loved that movie!
ReplyDeleteMaybe Daniel Craig with the whole James Bond thing.
ReplyDeleteNot Craig. He is already out of his contract. Also, he doesn't direct and I wouldn't call him A+ list. A- more likely.
ReplyDeleteCraig has 1 more left on his contract and doesn't direct
