It isn't necessarily the first one I think of, but no one ever says A League of Their Own when they think of him and he is one of the reasons that is one of my favorite movies.
Don't think I've ever seen him in anything (had to Google him to make sure I was getting the right person and everything). However, I do remember watching a promo/interview for "Captain Phillips" on YouTube once, and I remember just being so unimpressed with the tone of what was being said about the film (can't remember exactly what) that I decided against seeing it?
