Blind Items Revealed #20 - Old Hollywood

September 28, 2016

While working on a movie considered to be the greatest western of all time, this racist, closeted permanent A list mostly movie actor who is an Academy Award winner had an interesting encounter. His encounter was with his co-star who had almost a handful of Academy Award wins/nominations and was the bff of a permanent A+ lister. The two actors initially despised each other, mainly over their acting styles and also the director who was on the side of the racist in all matters and often referred to the multiple nom/winner as a f*g. The director blamed all problems on the actor even though there were a lot of moving parts in this movie. One day though, the racist and the actor took a walk when the actor was about to lose his cool with the director. The pair walked toward some boulders but where they could be seen by a couple of the crew members. In the middle of their discussion, our actor could be seen removing his shirt to wipe his face and chest as the racist watched. The two spoke for a few minutes when our actor cupped the racist’s crotch in his hand. Instead of recoiling, the racist returned the gesture. Our actor then orally serviced the racist. Apparently the racist was quick because after just a minute or so, the racist was about to return the favor when he noticed the crew members standing a distance away. Both actors quickly got dressed and as they approached the crew, the racist said, “Any of you mention anything and I’ll make sure you never work again”. Afterward, on set, the racist was very cold and aloof toward our actor when he wasn’t avoiding him altogether.

Red River/John Wayne/Montgomery Clift/Director Howard Hawks

So Hawks is calling Montgomery a f*g and doesn't know he's also insulting John Wayne, even though it's sounds like they are bff's?

Doesn't necessarily mean JW was gay. Plenty of "straight" guys like getting BJs from men. Probably part of why there's so much resistance to the idea of bisexuality - they want to keep that line hard and fast in their heads.

This has got to be the biggest bunch of horseshit I have ever read here and that is saying a lot. Gimme a break. So after an argument I guess during filming and on location they walk over to some boulders apparently in view of some crew and a few minutes later he is blowing John Wayne. Yea that sounds like a very likely scenario. Remember this would be in 1947. Not likely a public blowjob during workday on location when any crew member could stumble across them. That kind of activity would be behind closed doors. Sounds like some fabrication by someone that didn't like the racist Wayne or a crew member that didn't like him.

I had heard this story many years ago, there had been many rumors about John Wayne being bisexual, dressing in women clothes etc. Of course the details are someone's imagination, but if a guy won't go gay for Montgomery Clift, they are totally straight.

@texasrose. Some of my older friends have said that their former husbands would engage in this type of behavior. i thought she was joking but she was adamant.

Please. Anyone who knows anyone in the industry knows this story is probably true. Clift was gay, Wayne was rumored to have many "proclivities" (watch 1982's Repo Man) - this story is entirely credible.

JW was a horrible person. Hated him since reading Trumbo bios.

  16. When I was working film production back in the early 80's, one film I worked on had a "guy" who had worked on several of John Wayne's films 'way back when.'

One day, we talked about various John Wayne films and he was the one who first told me that John was a racist and gay. At the time, I didn't believe him. (I didn't see it.)

Anyway, he said that the next time I watched a John Wayne film, count the black people in the cast/extras.

    I have never found any.

As for being gay? Okay, lots of actors are gay. No harm, no foul as far as I am concerned.

As for being a racist? Well, just look at who the stupid people (I mean the non college educated people) voted for this past year.

Lots of people are (closet) racist!

Texasrose believes actors as just like the roles they play.

But offscreen, Wayne was into cock. Look at Miss Butch Cowboy Thing in her espadrilles, hot pants and purse:

  20. I had a relative who worked in Hollywood from the early days up to the 1960s and he all but confirmed this. He said Wayne was deeply in the closet and had heard that Wayne and Clift had gotten together, although there was debate about who was the aggressor, and Wayne grew more and more angry toward Clift after. Also said Wayne was one of the biggest racists in Hollywood.
