The PR people of this B list mostly movie actress pulled out all the stops to get her in the Vanity Fair Hollywood issue. The actress was definitely not a first choice or even in the top 20 choices.
Well I will applaud VF that is the most color I have EVAAAAAAHHHH seen on their Hollywood cover. 4 amazing talented sistahs. I wonder why they did not include Viola D?
Why didn't they put one woman over 40 on the cover? Annette Bening, Isabelle Huppert and Viola Davis.. all possibly had the best performances of their career and got ignored for the Dakota's and the girl from HTGAWM? Do they think the pages will shrivel up or something? Super happy for Ruth Negga. Been a massive fan of hers since Love/Hate (Irish tv show) Sorry for the rant, I think it's Dakota Johnson. She's known for one crappy movie. The rest have been in at least one critically acclaimed film.
I was surprised to see Lupita. She had a small role in a movie that flopped and a minor voiceover in a hit, but no way is she more newsworthy than many other actresses this year, particularly black actresses.
I change my mind. I think it is Greta Gerwig. I don't even know who she is and had to look her up at IMDB. She has supporting roles in Jackie and 20th Century Women.
Def Dakota Johnson; does not belong. But neither does Lupita or Janelle Monae. Taraji, Viola, and Olivia would have completed the set. Also Annette, Nicole, Emma W., Zoe Saldana. Amy you break my heart.
Lupita?
ReplyDeleteDakota Johnson looks out of place but Enty would have mentioned celebrity family.
ReplyDeleteDakota Johnson
ReplyDeleteAwwww Aja Naomi King who stars in HTGAWM but is not a movie actress

I don't think they mentioned her in their story about who is on the cover
ReplyDeleteN\m she's in there.

ReplyDeleteShe's in Birth of a Nation.
ReplyDeleteMeh. She and Ruth and Jonelle are after the fold/inside cover. Same old same old with one token on the cover.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess we are to assume they got her in???
ReplyDeleteGreta Gerwig?

ReplyDeleteIt's either Lupita or Dakota Johnson.

ReplyDeleteWho else isn't surprised? Its all PR and money now. Nothing about magazins, covers & "award" shows is "Real" any longer.
ReplyDeleteYou are the very definition of. RACIST
ReplyDeleteShe broke up Jennifer Jason Leigh's marriage while jil expecting a baby
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree with Hot Cola. Even the President of the USA is a giant fake. His people voted twice in different states. Dirt bags all.
ReplyDeleteTrump is a big fake?! Now I feel like I wasted my two votes.
ReplyDeleteActually no, I don't think Heather referring to a token person of color on the cover is the definition of racist.

ReplyDeleteThey did. They put exactly one: Amy Adams. She's 42.
ReplyDeleteDakota Fanning
