This foreign born former A+ list entertainer(singer) is really sick again. He needs to come clean about his disease so people can rally around the guy.
I don't think George wanted people to rally around him. Whenever people tried, he turned them away. He was resentful of anyone trying to help him will drug issues, and he really did not want headlines about his health. If anything, the attention would probably have caused him more suffering.
RIP George. You were a rare talent. And his performance of Somebody to Love at the tribute concert for Freddie Mercury with the surviving members of Queen was the best after Freddie by a mile.
Whats with not having a little memorial post about his great career and charitable efforts??? Just reveals of his status? A little tacky and disturbing!
George never wanted anyone's pity nor did he ever want to come out as gay. I am one of his biggest fans, my best friend and I are what others would call 'obsessed' with him. He was a shy guy and quite, humble man who didn't even want his mom to know he was gay for fear of upsetting her. There was a lot of self hate and self doubt in this man and he even said that if Andy had not agreed to be in Wham! the chances of George ever doing it on his own were slim to none. George Michael is by far the most talented male vocalist this generation/time period will ever know. His music not only transcended genres, it transcended time. Not only was he singing all that music, just as well if not better live than in the studio, he wrote it all and he was playing ALL those instruments as well. His albums will go down as some of the greatest of all time, as will his song writing and vocal range. Even Mary J Blige said she thought he was a black guy until she saw Wham! on MTV on day and was like 'WTF?!?' George Michael was the only white male to do a duet with Aretha Franklin. He also did a duet with Whitney Houston. Elton John and Paul McCartney. He donated millions to charities, sold 100 million records, struggled with depression and addiction and was always honest about what he felt others should know. But what he didn't want us to know was not cuz he was ashamed, it was cuz he cared. He cared what others thought about him All he wanted to do was make music. Maybe now he is gone people will shut the fuck up about him being gay, him being on drugs, .just shut the fuck up and listen to the music, listen without prejudice cuz NONE of us will EVER hear talent like this again in our lifetimes. RIP George......
One of my cherished favorites. His flair, style, smooth voice and Foxiness will go unmatched for a long time to come. His Wham! Days were /are nostalgic for me...(everything she wants is a daily play for me),but his solo work really struck me. The charitable work is a bonusx10...safe passage sweet man
Scrolled through the comments and was shocked that people think drug abuse is a disease - it's not. The disease is AIDS. Duh. Apparently people are being attacked online for even speculating he died from AIDS. They're calling people bigots and hateful for it. Stupid people always doing stupid shit. LOL
George looked pretty robust in pics this fall. I know of a few overweight folks who died from heart failure. But none of them were only 53. Fluid builds up around the heart. Gotta take the Lasix to make it go away. Could have been a B.S. official cause of death too.
TBH, they said "heart failure", not specifically 'congestive heart failure'. And drug use, especially long-term drug use,can cause significant damage to the heart muscle itself (cardiomyopathy).
Honestly don't know, or care to know, if he was HIV (+), as long as he didn't spread it. Hope he rests in peace.
One of his partners died of AIDS so it's a pretty safe bet that he was at least HIV. No one actually dies of AIDS its always something else that is the final cause of death so often the AIDS part is left out of death notices and even death certificates. 'AIDS related death' is sometimes mentioned when the deceased was known to have the disease otherwise it's not strictly a legal requirement in the UK.
Aretha did a duet with Elton John a year after doing 1 with George. She also did 1 with Michael McDonald, she did a duet with The Blues Brothers on the soundtrack for Blues Brothers 2000, & she also did duets with Tony Bennett & Frank Sinatra. So George is pretty far from being the only white male she did a duet with.
R.I.P dear , always in my heart.
ReplyDeleteThe white guy with more hit songs on the R' n B chart than any other act.
ReplyDeleteHe's permanent A++ list, in my opinion.
