Today's Blind Items - Struggling

This blind is a little different from most. I just wanted to give you some insight into what some performers go through when they make it big. I first met this foreign born former A list singer a few days before the Grammy Awards the year Rihanna got beat by Chris Brown. It was a strange night. I remember it well considering how much I had to drink. A shocking amount even for me. The kind of night where you are so drunk you call a locksmith to help you get in the house even though your parents are asleep in the house and you could presumably knock. Still don't know what happened to the keys. It was a night where I got kissed on the cheek by Rihanna as I held a door open for her. I know Chris Brown was there but I don't remember seeing him. I do remember going to the bar at this still way overpriced club and asking for a drink. No drinks there under $15. F**kers.

I think I might have whispered f**kers when the bartender brought my drink and the tab. She said she liked the way I said f**kers. With her accent, I told her I liked the way she said it while trying to sound American. We drank. A lot. Each time the bartender brought us a drink we said f**kers. It was funny at the time. I found out later that she actually paid for all the drinks that night. At some point she told the bartender to put everything on her tab. It is hard to say anything bad about someone who bought you drinks all night. Or the next night. I think the following night after that was the Grammy Awards. I didn't see her for a few days after that but then we hung out a couple of more times right after. At the time I met her, she seemed great. She was drinking as much as me, if not more. People would stop her and she would freak out a little bit. This fame thing had come out of nowhere. By this time she had been dealing with it for about a year and she didn't seem to be dealing with it very well. She was fine going up to someone, but hated being stopped just randomly because she didn't know what to say or how to react. She just wanted to sing and perform and had no idea what to do.

A short time after we met she went on to finish her tour and we would text from time to time but she was in Asia and working and the time thing never seemed to really get sorted out. She came back to the US and we hung out a bit and I saw her last show of the tour. Turns out it was the last show she ever played. Kind of. There have been a couple of one off things, but not much else. Her label wanted another record but she said she just wasn't into it. She had no heart to put out something that would make her have to go out there and face people again. Plus, there was part of her I think that was afraid to fail. That her next record would bomb so why even put something out. It did pretty much bomb. I think she was relieved. Dropped by her label and free to do what she wanted. She became a recluse. She dated from time to time but guys wanted to go out and she wanted to stay home. Away from everyone. She told me she basically tried to stay inside for four years. At that point she figured most people wouldn't recognize her any longer. She is at a stage in her life where she doesn't know what to do. She loves singing, but doesn't want to tour. She is literally scared of any kind of success that would make her feel fame again. She does some acting, but only wants minor roles. She is willing to write and sing, but only for projects and not for herself. So often we talk about people wanting to be famous or if you signed up for acting you signed up to be famous. Sometimes though someone has no idea what fame really is until they are living it and it turns out they want no part of it and basically give up everything they thought they wanted to do because they dislike fame so much. One thing that hasn't changed is when we go out we still say f**kers every time someone brings us a drink.

I want to say Lorde but think she would be too young to hang with Enty, no?

Damn not finding any solo female foreign singers for 2009 unless chick was in a group?

Cowell product milked for one big hit. Good singer but no creative talent. Seen at various parties, fashion shows since. Lily allen loves coke.

duh, I thought Enty meant the year Chris Brown won... still I stick with Leona Lewis.

I'm digging this guess. Other than her brief acting cameo on Empire, she has disappeared.

Sandy, what I couldn't tell was whether said blind item person was popular that same year or that the Chris Brown win year was just when it happened. Who knows!!!

Whoever she is, if she ever needs a roomie or a place to hide, let me know. I deeply, madly, truly love solitude & privacy.
There's nothing worse for a person like this than constantly being asked what's wrong.
Nothing's wrong and virtually no one accepts that. Enjoying solitude is not and never will be an affliction.

  21. i get the hint that the singer is foreign born -- maybe English?
So, what English singer was popular before 2009 and hasn't done much since?
    Hmmm....

Ugh...Leona Lewis has the personality of a cardboard box. No wonder she doesn't like to be around people, she doesn't have great social skills.

Yes but the BI states "That her next record would bomb so why even put something out. It did pretty much bomb" I don't think any of her records went anywhere.

This person suddenly, out of no where, became famous in 2008 (dealing with it for a year prior to 2009). Sounds like a Cowell creation. Who was on X Factor in 2008?

^Google says Diana Vickers and Alexandra Burke were that season of XFactor. I say Diana Vickers.

well, people waiting for Leona to get an autograph after her CATS performances currently on Broadway say that she's really friendly & nice....doesn't really seem like she doesn't like being around people if she chose to do a big Broadway show either & does meets & greets daily..either.

Totally Duffy, had a role in a movie recently which would explain the little acting mentioned in the blind. Loved "rockferry"!

oooooh, I like your Duffy guess! +1000
    - and her Wiki page says she went on an extended hiatus..."In September 2008 Duffy mentioned that she was on the borderline of a nervous breakdown because of the pressure that fame had brought her...."
-it goes on & on & it's like Enty's Blind borrows quotes directly from Duffy's wiki page!
    - I loved her voice & DID buy her CDs.

Certainly Duffy and hope she stays clear of Enty as it's clear she has a drinking problem. If you read her story, none of this is suprising.

I thought Duffy got addicted to heroin and that's why she hasn't done much. At least that's the gossip

Can this read "the year Chris Brown was a arrested for abusing Rhianna"...make that fuck take responsibility always.

  45. back again8:24 AM

Ironically enough, Duffy is in the movie "Legend"(2015) which is currently streaming & on Cinemax...(i liked it..but i usually like all of tom hardy's films so i may be biased)...soooo,she's definately been doin' something pretty damn cool!
-"Legend" is the movie about the Kray Brothers starring Tom Hardy and Duffy plays an American singer AND she sings a few songs on the soundtrack if anyone wants to hear her as of late!

    ReplyDelete
  46. back again8:33 AM

i like Dido too...ironically, used to mix her up with Duffy namewise. I just read that Dido blew off the Academy Awards & Florence & the Machine replaced her to sing "If I Rise" from "127 Hours"...never knew thaaaat til just now.

Antagonizing someone does not grant permission to beat the crap out of them, neither does having an argument. No abuse sympathizing here.

That's horrible, I hope she feels better soon and finds peace in her life.

Enty, I'd love to read more stories like this (especially about how famous people deal with friendships, how they deal with not knowing who to trust, and when people start taking advantage of them). Thank you for sharing...

Her episode on Cribs was pretty funny and I am tossed between the Duffy guess and her. I was trying to make Kt Tunnelstal(spelling off) but doesn't fit the time line and is married. The main clue is she was famous a year before....NOT sure why Duffy or Joss would be famous without music....I do remember reading an article where Duffy said she thought she was ugly and didn't like being photographed. ..

I also thought of Natasha Bedd infield
Famous the year before---her song Unwritten was the theme of The Hills

Actually, I determined it's ENTY due to writing style and Rhythm. ENTY has a certain cadence... that may or may not carry over to his interactions with the ladies.

I agree, but I meant I think he embellishes the story , seems like a reoccurring theme with real Enty.

My guess is Amy Lee with Evanescence

    ReplyDelete
  66. @ Ay
and here I thought there was a possibility for you to rethink your words.
You are as vile as Chris is.
One has to wonder how many times you've 'finished' it.
I'd like to have a few words with you, in private, and then we'd see who has the last word.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I didn't "step back" from anything I gave you the FACTS. It was a "beef" because it was a MUTUAL fight. Rihanna lost, badly.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sit your angry ass down. I've never committed a crime in my life so how does that make me as "vile" as Chris? lol

    ReplyDelete
  69. fairmont195511:43 PM

There's many ways you can suck as a person and not all have to include physical violence. Your pride is extreme, and even when faced with push back that you aren't all that, you still want to insist you are.
Also, you don't seem to know what facts are :) But I think we have learned to have low expectations of you. XOXO!

    ReplyDelete
  70. @fairmont

I know exactly what facts are, you just can't accept them. Now get back to work before you get fired.

    ReplyDelete
  71. "Sit your angry ass down. I’ve never committed a crime in my life so how does that make me as “vile” as Chris? lol

In your opinion, Chris isn't vile at all - isn't that a fair assessment of your viewing him as having had simply 'finished' an annoying situation?
Karma might just teach you a lesson, one of these days.

    ReplyDelete
  72. @Bill

I have no karma coming my way because i've never hurt anyone. Chris IS vile for what he did. That doesn't change the fact that Rihanna was physically attacking him while he was driving which prompted him to pull the car over and whoop her ass, then leaving her on the side of the road. An ugly situation for both of them.
