This A list news anchor with A+ list name recognition and hair has been slowly Brian Williams-ing his story about how he got started in the business. His version of events is a lot different than reality.
I know he spoke a lot about his early days(being the youngest on "the beat" so to speak, and his admiration for Peter Jennings who helped him out.And let's face it- he does have A+hair:)
Anderson Cooper started out his "journalism" career on Channel One, a free news service to schools that agreed to show it to x number of students every morning. The service furnished TV sits and VCR's to the schools too. It was controversial because the ten-minute morning show had three minutes of commercials (usually for candy and junk). This was back in the 80's. This went on in the district where I taught. Ah yes, I remember it well, LOL.
Agree with the Muir guesses. Have read other rumors. There was an article about him in our paper yesterday (which is what I'm guessing this refers to). AND, there's no denying / changing / covering up any of Cooper's past career--too well-known and public.
-David Muir might anchor the ABC Evening News but he doesn't have A+ name recognition...ask 10 people on the street who David Muir is & 9 won't have a clue.Ask 10 people who Barbara Walters,Dan Rather, Katie Couric, etc is & you'll get 10 people who know who they are...that's A+ name recognition in my opinion. -That being said, I agree with @Tricia...that David Muir is the answer to this BI.
Nope. Anderson Cooper started at Whittle Communications with so many young journalists of that era (Channel One specifically). His start and background is extremely well known by everyone who would ever have professional reason to want to expose a lie like that.
Despite the perks of his high-flying life, Cuomo found the law unsatisfying, and decided to pursue work in journalism. Using his well-known name to his advantage, he was able to land a temporary gig on the CNBC show Equal Time in 1997.
Almost all of Whittle Communications products were like that. They were glossy magazines, for example, with only one advertiser. One major exception was Campus Voice magazine -- but it too was free on campus.
If this is supposed to be Anderson Cooper, then the tall tales are probably about his two summers as an intern for the CIA. that seems a recent addition I hadn't heard about.
Not sure Chris ever purported to have anything but a nepotistic, auspices beginning. His father, the most well known in name rec I would think is Mario Cuomo , former gov of Ny , now Andrew....but not sure he fits the fabricating of his background part. He was engaged to my sister briefly(together several years) and while I didn't think he was a great guy by any stretch(multitude of reasons), definitely used his connections straight outta Fordham Law and Always had his eye on the prize(TV/celebrity) and made no bones about it.He could be the answer but Enty hasn't a clue about him I suppose (wouldn't be first time lol).
My theory was he left law he was forced to. Which I assume is untrue now. Thanks for the info, very interesting. That's crazy that you're almost had a Cuomo in your fam. Coincidentally, one of my parents went to law school with Andrew and my former classmate is distantly related the family. They both didn't like them either! My mother didn't vote for him b/c of it.
Np....I wrote here once when there was a blind that suggested it was maybe him(just because I sorta knew it was)...almost fam, a few thanksgivings and lots of hanging when he was kinda starting out and sorta pretentious(my sister was also sick at the time), and he was always bitching to me about it unbelievably.Overall, can't really say too many nice things about his character...(which is why he was a great guess Elle, because it is something he would do--just kinda couldn't because he was in spotlight already, I think ?) thx for share about your family- that's awesome too. My sis went to NYU while he was at FU and she was happy for a while, I guess. Long story short--your family got it right!
I know I'm late. Yes, it's Anderson Cooper. His mom is Gloria Vanderbilt who is wealthy and also one of the pioneers of the designer jeans trend. I'm surprised no one pointed out what he REALLY did prior to getting in the business. He used to work for the CIA.
Anderson Cooper
ReplyDeleteNot really a news anchor but I'll take Hannity. I think he bartended and called into talk shows like other losers do.

ReplyDeleteSean Hannity has no degree and Hitler hair so I'll go with him.
ReplyDeleteHannity does call himself a talk show host and not a journalist, so prob not him.
ReplyDeleteIt's Cooper:
