Today's Blind Items - Caught In The Bushes - Old Hollywood

While working on a movie considered to be the greatest western of all time, this racist, closeted permanent A list mostly movie actor who is an Academy Award winner had an interesting encounter. His encounter was with his co-star who had almost a handful of Academy Award wins/nominations and was the bff of a permanent A+ lister. The two actors initially despised each other, mainly over their acting styles and also the director who was on the side of the racist in all matters and often referred to the multiple nom/winner as a f*g.  The director blamed all problems on the actor even though there were a lot of moving parts in this movie. One day though, the racist and the actor took a walk when the actor was about to lose his cool with the director. The pair walked toward some boulders but where they could be seen by a couple of the crew members. In the middle of their discussion, our actor could be seen removing his shirt to wipe his face and chest as the racist watched. The two spoke for a few minutes when our actor cupped the racist's crotch in his hand. Instead of recoiling, the racist returned the gesture. Our actor then orally serviced the racist. Apparently the racist was quick because after just a minute or so, the racist was about to return the favor when he noticed the crew members standing a distance away. Both actors quickly got dressed and as they approached the crew, the racist said, "Any of you mention anything and I'll make sure you never work again". Afterward, on set, the racist was very cold and aloof toward our actor when he wasn't avoiding him altogether.

I take it back--missed that the co-star had several nominations. Let's go with Red River: John Wayne and Montgomery Clift (four nominations for Oscars with one win--thus the near-handful).

John Wayne and Montgomery Clift in "Red River." Although I wouldn't call it the greatest western ever. But certainly one of them.

Could Montgomery Cliff be the one with the handful of AA noms/wins since he was gay, and it says he was bff of a permanent A+ lister who would be Liz Taylor??

I'd like to request a whole Saturday or Sunday of old Hollywood blind reveals!!!

I think the racist line is the giveaway, and it is The Searchers. Good job, sandybrook

  18. I believe Stagecoach, which also starred John Wayne, is considered the greatest Western of all time.

I think you've all got it with John Wayne for the racist and Saint Monty for the actor but I can't believe this one. I just can't imagine Monty sinking so low as to do rude things the racist nor that Wayne would do that in public. Sounds very made up

  20. Squeege4:11 AM

Not strictly relevant but I do remember reading somewhere that Monty had a tiny tiny penis.

Old Hollywood blinds are always more suspect given that the featured players are dead so anyone can say anything. The featured players are dead so why even make it a blind? Unless it's not true. John Wayne the Gay Racist is a perennial bore.

What about Giant? George Stevens, director, Elizabeth Taylor BFF, Montgomery Cliff?

  25. Guessing5:18 AM

This sounds like a Brokeback Mountain inspired fantasy.

Sometimes I think Enty tests to see how much will be believed. This one isn't too bad. The worst blind/reveal was that Bing Crosby, father of 7, was a eunuch.

Then that would make this Rock Hudson and James Dean?? Crikey.

I guess Red River works but no way John Wayne was 'closeted' and this blow job never happened.

I've never heard of Red River and I do like Westerns. Can't be Stagecoach, unless John Carradine was secretly gay. According to Rotten Tomatoes, The Searchers is the first John Wayne movie in their list for greatest Westerns. So the other actor would be Captain Pike. However, he starred in two more John Ford movies after that, so maybe it isn't The Searchers.

Ah, a mouth is a mouth. I can't believe he would reciprocate, though.

    John Wayne not a racist
He had Hispanic Mexican wives and black children

  38. Well maybe2:32 PM

First time posting! Personally Giant is the most famous western but John Wayne has the racist reputation so Red River then?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Antonio3:25 PM

If this is true I bet John Wayne had a bevy of black cocks on the side. Racists usually secretly like what they hate so much. These days you might as well start every blind off with "this racist" since everyone seems to be I guess.

I agree. I would love for it to be true, but my first thought was "citation please." I don't care what he threatened, something that juicy would have gotten out. And WHO is this claiming to know the story?

Wayne was notorious. He was a total fake.

  43. Larry4:06 AM

I agree w/ the John Wayne and Montgomery Clift guesses. Wayne fits the description of racist permanent A lister since his comments on race were never very secretive and I've heard he was rumored to be bisexual and also played around with male studio execs in his pre-fame days before becoming "John Wayne". Clift was treated badly by Howard Hawks while making "Red River" and was also rumored to often come onto men who were either inaccessible or in inappropriate situations (supposedly was invited to a party at Frank Sinatra's house where Clift persistly pursued a male guest. much to Sinatra's distaste).
