I used to work at Calvin Klein in PR/Celebrity Services. There was always a story about how KM was at a party in the late 90s/early 00s doing blow and getting wasted, and she fucked one of the guys she was in the bedroom doing coke with. When they finished, she walked into the living room naked and said, "OK, who's next?"
Wish I had been there, I'd have jumped at the opportunity.
How 'bout Lauren Hutton having to share a runway with a miscellaneous Hadid? And not killing her. Just my first thought on the read-through, with that pic in the DM this week.
5.6 is very short for a model even back in the day. Do you know any other high-fashion model who's that short? It would cost the designers extra money to have Kate do their shows because she was too short to fit into the samples and they had to make extra outfits just for her. The average height for a high-fashion model has been 5'10 since the 80's and Kate came along in the 90's
Not true. At Kate Moss's peak, she was still DEFINITELY considered short, if not the shortest working model at 5'6". Runway model height STARTS at 5'9".
This was not so long ago, young whippersnapper, and she was always always much shorter than all the other supermodels.
I have hung out at parties in London in Kate-adjacency many times. She used to have a drop dead gorgeous face - today she looks like she has been dragged through a hedge back ways by an entire army of guys. She was always high, and she was always a whore. She's also extremely 'common', not in looks, but in her behaviour and vocabulary. Sounds like a drunken fish wife. But her face was stunning.
No it's not true. Most models are 5'6-5'9 if we speak about real height, not fake "official". Ambrosio, Swanepoel, Irina Shayk are 5'8, Miranda Kerr is 5'7, Cara Delevingne and Sara Sampaio 5'6 etc.
Kate Moss. Back in the day the fashion gods were after a certain facial look for magazines and ads. Kate ruled, Naomi, Iman, Lauren, etc. The runway was secondary and height of 5'6 to 5'9" or so were standard. Today models who are 5'10" or more do the runway but are not necessarily sought after for magazines and ads like Cara and Georgia Jagger who are about 5'6.
She also has a completely symmetrical face. With that plus her bone structure and wide set eyes, the camera loves her.
And with the fat is beautiful movement we have actual ugly models. Add in the reality starlets who get hired for the social media numbers but are completely void of personality, the ugly model is well represented.
No need to dog on real supermodels who to this day are booking the real money jobs after 20-30 years in the business. These dumbasses today won't be remembered in 5 years.
Yup, you got it!
ReplyDeletethx Simon!
