Blind Items Revealed #2

June 8, 2016

This 80’s A+ list actress is now barely in demand for any movies. She used to be married to an A+ lister who has been A list for a few decades. Our actress stopped getting roles after she fired multiple directors and directors of photography because they were not shooting her the way she wanted. She also fired writers who didn’t give her enough dialogue.

Kim Basinger/Alec Baldwin

She's supposedly difficult all around. Apparently what set Alec off on his famous rant was Kim effing around with the visitation schedule for weeks and making it hard for him to reach Ireland directly via phone, so it was up to Ireland to return Alec's phone calls.

Not that it justifies what he said to his daughter, but it seems that Kim knew how to push his buttons like she was selecting a floor on an elevator panel.

Poor Kim...she should have quit after 9 1/2 Weeks.
Maybe she could help Formerly Hot Mickey Rourke find his way back to his OG face.
I liked them together in that film

Poor Kim indeed. Many actresses are as difficult as this is described and were A and A+ and always worked. Kim didn't lose work because she was difficult-she lost work because she stayed difficult when she wasn't A+ list anymore.

And rumored mental problems. And that lawsuit she lost wiped out a lot of her fortune, which she may not have gotten over.

Zilla: I think Baldwin wrote a book about parental alienation, dealing with their divorce and custody issues. Yes he shouldn't have said that to his kid, but, in this case, it takes three to fuck it up. Mom and kid share the blame.

Say what you want about her, but that performance in LA Confidential was one of the best pieces of acting of the late 90s.

    +1, she earned that Oscar.

She was good in nice guys, a great movie.

She was in The Nice Guys (appearing again with Russell Crowe, which I really thought would get more attention since L.A. Confidential is such a great movie, AND it's about 20 years old). She was good, but the amount of work she's had done (and the botox, I think) were distracting.

  11. she is difficult, alec is not a gift to communicate w/:what a life they had together!
i always liked her smiling face (as much as i hate julia roberts's toothy-gumy,from ear to ear,far from a mona lisa's smile)...

  13. I've always loved her. She is too beautiful for words. I'm glad to hear she is still working.

Funny how she was guessed for one of the other blinds though.

A true beauty. Doesn't she have some crazy form of anxiety?

@Surly: Yes, she suffers from agoraphobia. I thought her and Baldwin were a good match because they both had mental issues.

  17. Whoever listened to her in the first place when she started having her tantrums is the real problem. I can want a coworker fired all I want, but if they're doing their job then the expectation from management is that I will just STFU and do my job too.

They aren't supposed to piss off the star because if they do and the star refuses to work until s/he gets what they want, then it costs the studio money. That's not right, but that's the way it is--they work on a budget and every delay costs money and time=money.

boy, i could watch her all day on film in her heyday--so pretty..."No Mercy" ...daahum.
She was great in L.A. Confidential....actually,the ENTIRE cast was great in L.A.Confidential.

yeah buuuuut, Ireland was only 11 yrs. old--pretty much a pawn in their f***ed-up custody chess game.Kim was bitter & vengeful & Alec was a bully & cruel...the parents were the spoiled brats in that one me thinks.

Ireland wasn't to blame for Alec's crazy. He's a nutter, has anger issues, and Kim has social and germ phobias... they are two crazy people. I feel bad Ireland was caught in their mess.

Haven't heard much about Kim in recent years, but Alec is STILL nutso, so who knows what happened. Ireland is obviously a mess, though, poor kid.

Well, to be fair, all you have to do is look at Alec the wrong way or be a little slow getting his coffee and he'll go off.

Yeah, I assumed the agoraphobia was going to keep her from working, even if she did have offers. I can't imagine how awful that would be.

  25. When I was on Facebook a while back, Bob Ringwood, who was the costume designer for the 1989 Batman film gave me some rather blunt insight regarding his personal experiences with dealing with Kim Basinger:

Horrible woman….such bad behaviour when we made Batman.

I didn't hate working with KB…she just behaved in the most unprofessional and disgraceful manor….more than any other actor in my 45 year career…….actually we did start work with Sean Young and had completed all her clothes for the film and she was a pleasure to work with…unfortunately she had a riding accident and had to withdraw….

  26. Even GQ magazine's Scott Meslow recently did an article documenting Kim Basinger's recent career struggles so to speak called "The Curious Career of Kim Basinger".

  27. The late Irvin Kershner, Kim Basinger's director for "Never Say Never Again" once said about her "she has a problem that a lot of ex-models have, and that's paying too much attention to their looks."

I saw on some show (so clearly not the most credible source!) than Kim has severe anxiety, mostly social, so that could be the cause of her difficult behavior.

  31. [Blind Gossip] Want to know what really happened with that young celebrity who is in big trouble? Well, we are going to share the very interesting backstory with you!

Earlier this month, you were told that she was sick with a specific illness. It is the kind of painful illness that sometimes requires emergency surgery and normally takes about 4-6 weeks from which to recover. The sad news and the sad photo were distributed widely and were designed to get you to feel sorry for her.

You did feel sorry for her, didn’t you?

Well, you got played. It was all a lie. She did not have that illness at all. She did not have emergency surgery. She was actually in the hospital because her dr*g habit had spiraled out of control.

The very next day after the fake illness was announced, her father drove her to a rehab center. She was freaked out by the fact that several other family members were waiting there to do an intervention with her. She denied that she has a problem, said that no one was going to tell her what she could and could not do, and walked out without being admitted. Almost a week later, she finally relented and allowed herself to be checked into a different, more “lenient” facility for treatment.

You’re still being played. They don’t want you to know that she is a spoiled child whose money goes straight up her nose. They want you to feel sorry for her. That’s why they made up the fake illness, and that is why they are now using words like “therapy” and trauma” instead of “reh*b” and “add*ct.”

Given her odd family history, does any of this surprise you?

A few nights ago, this B list model/celebrity offspring from a big celebrity family couldn't resist when this A+ list female singer offered her some coke. That family sure does like their coke. She did pull away when the singer started trying to grope her while she was bent over doing the coke.
