This B+ list mostly television actress who recently left a hit almost network show and is a celebrity offspring lined up a couple of weeks of yachting. it is why she was out of town last week in that spot where you can easily finalize arrangements.
Katie Cassidy
No one likes her or gives a shit about her :D Why are we still talking about her? :D
ReplyDeleteDitto
ReplyDeleteShe just signed on as a season regular across all of the CW's comic book themed shows. That means she's getting paid for 22 eps, but they will be across 3-4 shows. So she doesn't need the money.
ReplyDelete.
Look, no one thinks yacht girls are all innocent. Many, if not most, are hooking. But it is not unreasonable that a beautiful young woman, who is successful in her own right, might not have some fun in these party situations. If I was a girl, I might think it to be fun to be around this scene knowing that I did not have to put out a the end of it.
One of the biggest fairytales that has come from SDCC. What she got was guest appearances across 3 shows. No regular stuff. When even the EPs of the show never took the word regular in their mouth. Its about using her image in the show before she pulls a Shannen Doherty where they wouldnt be able to use even her pics. Believe me she wont get paid for a whole season just as a day player.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you understand what being a series regular means. Being a series regular means that the actor has to be available for the season, it doesn't mean that said actor will be in a certain amount of episodes unless stated in the contract. For example, John Barrowman was a series regular on Arrow in season 4 yet he only had 50ish minutes of screentime. And her screentime might not even be stuff she has yet to film. It could be things she's ALREADY filmed (archive stuff)... I personally don't think we'll be seeing much of Cassidy in the upcoming season of the 3 shows.
ReplyDeleteIt should also be noted that this deal is in no way like Wentworth Miller or John Barrowman's.
This kind of deal that KC took, imo shows desperation (heck she even did a car show which is the lowest of the lows after she stopped filming). She is happily eating the crumbs DCTV is offering her. I think it's kind of sad. Hopefully this will help sustain her till Pilot Season so she can start auditioning for other shows.
Many of those women are told they have to be there or they won't get work. Granted, they made the choice to walk onto the yacht, but the idea that there is fun in sexual trafficking is a fucking fairy tale. Those girls/guys have zero choices in partners or sexual activities, or even beatings they receive. One bad choice doesn't justify sexual coercion, abuse or rape and it sure as shit doesn't make it fun.
ReplyDeleteMy bad @Patrick, I misread the last part of your comment.
ReplyDeleteshe got a great deal, one that is similar to the one Wentworth Miller and John Barrowman got. Doubt either of them are "desperate" it was probably the other way around since there was a huge backlash after Laurel got killed off. As for the yachting is there anyone at Hollywood at this point who doesnt? Seems like there is a blind about everyone esp after that one with 50 in them
ReplyDelete@SHEEPskin HAH what backlash? Give me a break. They didn't backtrack on their decision to kill her character off because said character is still dead, no matter how many children threatened and insulted people on twitter. That's not backlash, there's no social issue involved here, that's just predictable noise. She'll appear more on the other shows than the one she has been let go from because she got a new contract with the CW, not with the show. She was never able to hold on to that leading lady status so yes it is desperate. When she was ressembling a leading lady, her acting got decimated by the show's fanbase and the media left and right. I still vaguely remember her making the worst of tv lists back in the days. The noise had nothing to do with her or her acting abilities or her relevancy and everything to do with the suit she wears. Ironic that she's been casted for the pilot before the star of the show and her fans still think it has anything to do with her talent...
ReplyDeleteAlso funny that you're justifying her "yatching" just because it's a known phenomenon. I whore myself around to get a job but it's okay because others do it too. Come on, mate. I smell a stan.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if she could make as much $$ in a week of yachting as she could in a season of her show(s).
ReplyDeleteIs this how she's keeping KCTomBoy afloat?
