Blind Item #7
This A- list singer who used to be a tweener is under a lot of pressure to sign a management deal with this A+ list singer who is starting to want to monetize her friendships. It has the A-/B+ lister contemplating quitting singing.

ReplyDeleteNow Selena's all sad & shit...that Taylor, such a blessing /s
Why would she quit...can't she just refuse? What ?
ReplyDelete"Monetize her friendships" <-- This is one of the more bizarre statements I've seen. This bitch is certifiable.
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for her to snap for years. This is more slow-mo rage.
Somebody's getting stabbed before it's over. Maybe she'll microwave her cats or something.
Swifty is a bully, Selena's not the strongest individual on the planet. Low-hanging fruit.
ReplyDeleteObviously
ReplyDeleteThis is nothing new in the music industry.
ReplyDeleteThere is a long list of famous singers became "managers" for other singers through their careers.
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, even Wayne Newton. Madonna is even doing this through her Maverick Records run by Guy Oseary.
All have had their hand in the "success" of performers under their "management."
Poor Selena. No wonder (if true) has post those things on Social Media.
ReplyDeleteSelena/Taylor/Lorde
ReplyDeleteOr is the A-/B+ lister who contemplating quitting singing the same as the A- singer?
ReplyDeleteWondering when the Blind about Selenas instapost would happen. I also think the shooting death of her friend Christina Grimmie also plays a factor. When Demi had her Camp Rock meltdown it was the result of several bad things being piled on top of each other.
ReplyDelete-that's what i thought but Lorde works as the A- singer getting monetized since she collaborated /sang with Kanye during the Hunger Games promo stuff & he" reworked" & sang her song "Flicker".Tay-Tay is making her choose sides musically, lol.
ReplyDelete-And Selena's the A-/B+ wanting to quit music
too bad this type of ppl never microwave themselves...
ReplyDeleteScottish folds are expensive & w/ her love
of money they have some chance to survive...
Since swifty makes bank and she appears to have the entire industry at her feet, yet alone major players like apple, this would be a smart move. Wouldn't you want your money with warren buffet?
ReplyDeletewhat @Kno said.
ReplyDeleteyou disagree with Swift, expect a professional backlash. the power she has is unprecedented. Instagram gave her a special tool to delete unflattering comments (like snake emojis) saying its for 'harrassment' purposes. ONLY HER, mind you.....that isnt harrassment. Thats just negative stuff she doesnt want.
I am SO glad people are starting to discover what she really is all about.
" It has the A-/B+ lister contemplating quitting singing." time to mourn, if so
ReplyDeletethe ONLY power Taylor Swift has is the power people allow her to have. People could walk away from her and cut their contracts ... their biggest loss would be money (and if they have any integrity that won't be an issue) and NDA contracts. If Swift were a real friend shouldn't wouldn't be trying to make more money off them. Tells me she has zero integrity and a loser as a person.
ReplyDeleteSelena would be doing us a favor quitting singing! This definitely makes sense for her!
ReplyDeleteIt is the "starting to" that is confusing me. Taylor Swift has been monetizing her friendships for at least a couple years.
ReplyDeleteHere's the thing: Taylor at any time could swoop in to claim credit for Selena's success -- and she would, in the most public way, to damage her. (See: Taylor going under a pen name then somehow being the victim thus exposing her role and publicly taking credit for This Is What You Came For.) Nevermind all the weird "candid" staged appearance obligations in a supporting role to make Taylor look like Miss Popularity at all times.
ReplyDeleteAlso, It's one thing to discover talent and give them a record deal. But Selena had a career before Taylor did.
was thinking her too.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget how someone like JZ decided he would suddenly become a manager for sports stars. He basically was using his friendships to take a cut of guaranteed huge contracts, without any background in these type deals. Taylor's problem is that I think she wants her friends to pick sides. She wants them to be unable to work with Calvin Or Kanye.
ReplyDeleteLorde/Taylor Swift (Lorde doesn't currently have a manager as far as I know)
ReplyDeleteThis explains a lot
ReplyDeleteBingo!
ReplyDeleteNot saying that TayTay doesn't have some less than admirable qualities, but I'm going to be the cheese that stands alone here. It bugs me when TS is dragged through the mud for the same things that we would celebrate (or at least appreciate the business sense of) if done by a man. ANYBODY can say no, to anyone.
ReplyDeleteIts more likely "Microwave your boyfriends"
ReplyDeleteNot if you're sell your energy ( your essence)
ReplyDeleteMaybe we pick on Ber more bcuz she's a skinny girl in a skirt than a fat, cigar in hand, scmock with greese in his hair.
ReplyDeleteAnything's possible.
The cheese stands alone, the cheese stands alone....
ReplyDeleteI see what you're saying, but I am disgusted by TS's bullying because she pretends to be wholesome & friendly and has so many young, impressionable fans. Meanwhile she uses her considerable power to crush her enemies quietly, all while maintaining her good girl image.
At least some manipulators are more transparent about what they are/what they do. I also loathe that she plays the PR relationship/bearding game, which leads to it looking like she's had a zillion boyfriends. Is that what we want young girls to aspire to?
First of all, most of these people have little if any , integrity. Second, when they cut contracts, they can lose more than money, they could lose the right to perform at all. They may be sued for years, or no other companies will sign someone who breaks contracts.
ReplyDeleteSelena seemed to be having a blast on stage when I saw her earlier this year, just before the Christina Grimmie. But that certainly seemed to hit her hard and who could blame her, Revival was a damn fine pop album, if she wanted to call it quits after the tour good for her.
