Academy Awards
Nicorette Part Two
This foreign born B+ list mostly movie actress who is an Academy Award winner/nominee ran out of Nicorette fairly early on in the ceremony. Her actor significant other had a stash in his pockets which was also gone through. Our actress then started asking those around her for some. She was very quiet while chewing but went through a ton of the stuff.
Naomi Watts/Liev Schreiber
Scandalous $hit like this makes me wonder why the hell I bothered coming home today :(. Nicorette overdoses! Horrors! Under the bed for me!
ReplyDeleteOooooh....so scandalous. *smirk*
ReplyDeletefml!
ReplyDeleteNicroette is totally nasty. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteWhy do so many actors/actresses smoke?
ReplyDeleteIt is such a disgusting habit.
The mints aren't bad - the gum tastes like drywall paste
ReplyDelete...and it brings on/out the wrinkles MUCH faster than being in the sun! For women who are so concerned about their appearance, I'm baffled that so many of them smoke!! Hmmmm....well, I guess that's why botox is in high demand!
ReplyDeleteMakes sense right? Smoke a cancer stick...get polluted lungs, a hoarse voice w/ that smoker's laugh and a wrinkly face, but hey...just stick some Botulinum toxin in your bloodstream and you're good to go! /shakes head in disbelief/
@david: They smoke to not eat. If your mouth tastes like an ashtray, you don't want to eat as much.
ReplyDeleteAll that Nicorette, etc. stuff doesn't work. Cold turkey is the only way I know of to kick it for good.
Couldn't she go four hours without smoking? Or niccorette?
ReplyDeleteNow if only I could cold turkey some damn cookies, cakes and candy bars...
ReplyDeleteSmoking suppresses the appetite so you'll eat less, but it also increases your metabolism by 10%.
ReplyDelete@Dutch: Heck no she couldn't go four hours without smoking. It's hard to describe how addictive it is. I would get up in the middle of the night to have a cigarette, when it was raining. I became sick of my life not being my own, it all revolved around the need for nicotine, an ever increasing need for more and more nicotine. The addiction doesn't just level off, your tolerance increases and you need more of the poison.
ReplyDeleteMaybe take a break from those PSAs for awhile?
ReplyDeleteYes, smoking is horrible for one's health, but these scare tactics are never going to convince anyone not to smoke.
The reality, like it or not, is that most smokers do not look any worse than anyone else, and many live to a ripe old age.
I find it hilarious (in a sad, depressing way) that cigarettes are deemed the scourge of our society when in reality they are virtually the least pressing issue we face.
Smoking does not make your mouth taste like an ashtray.
ReplyDeleteDid you get your info from a sixth grade DARE seminar?
My comment was more of me ridiculing the logic behind their actions. Nothing more. I'm sorry you took it personally and got offended. Maybe that's something you need look at a bit closer since it hit quite a nerve w/ you.
ReplyDeleteFor the record: you/they can smoke all you want. It's your prerogative. Have a great day Claire.
Worked with seniors for over 20 years and smokers / heavy drinkers age the worst. Heavy drug users usually don't make it that far. Surprisingly marijuana people age the best. Must be the permanent smiles and good mood magic. Its going to be interesting when big pharmaceuticals tap into this medical marijuana market and what they promote.
