This former A list singer for the briefest of times who is an A+ list songwriter can’t stand this former A+ list singer turned A- list who also does a crappy job of acting on the side. Our A+ list songwriter has been taking every opportunity to remind the world how PR spin does not mean the genera public likes you or wants you in their life. She also thinks the singer/actress steals a lot of material and takes credit for things she did not do.
Linda Perry/Lady GaGa
Madonna sure thinks so. But they have sooooo much in common.
ReplyDeleteAt some point, you just have to let it go. If it's consuming your energy & not theirs, they're winning.
ReplyDeleteGaga can sing & play piano, but her song writing is crap. Real musicians and song writers hate her, because she takes credit for others work. Leo isn't the only actor that laughs at her.
ReplyDeleteWarwick stuck up for her though. Many other artists do the same thing (i'm looking at you Beyonce) and get praised and worshiped. Not saying it's right at all - but I can't jump on the Gaga hate wagon when she is so much more talented than the others out there.
ReplyDeleteI can't fault any singer for wanting to get some kind of writing credit on the songs they sing even if they only add a few words or musical notes. Take Meatloaf for example. Made Bat out of Hell, on of the classic records of all time, He spent years in relative poverty while Bat out of Hell was still selling and he saw not a penny for it because he got no writing credit for it. He was just the voice of the album, while everyone else made all the cash. You get that writing credit Gaga and set up your retirement fund.
ReplyDeleteIf you don't write the songs, you don't deserve a writing credit.
ReplyDeleteRetirement fund? Gaga? You meant heroin/coke/plastic surgery fund.
ReplyDeleteThe song writers SHOULD get all the money duh
ReplyDeleteThis is why Swifty is so much more rich than the rest of them
However, adding a few notes is tweaking not songwriting, Beyoncé
Right on Linda Perry. She is absolutely correct.
ReplyDeleteIt's nothing new anyway. Elvis got writing credits because the writers knew they would get more money if he recorded their songs. It benefits both. Many artists just end up stealing songs and hope they don't get caught. Better for everyone to get credit. Whitney Houston didn't have a lot of money because of lack of songwriting credits, that money comes in forever and they make a fortune if it's used in a commercial or something. GaGa didn't steal anything if the writer allowed the song credit. If Linda Perry didn't write songs with Pink, she would be just another one hit wonder.
