This former A+ list celebrity chef who lost it all has been trying to scramble to pay investors from her most recent project. Things started out great but now, not so much. The chef is selling off assets to try and pay everyone off.

She didnt lose it all, her crap is still in stores and Im pretty sure the restaurant still has long lines out the door.

ReplyDeleteI hate racists but I feel sorry for her-she was CRUCIFIED for telling the TRUTH in trial for something she said several decades earlier. It is all very generational. Bieber went on a racist rant and people didn't blink an eye?!

I think this had to have been planted by her PR people for sympathy.
The loss of those TV show checks is what is hurting her financially.
Bieber's fans are tweeners. Hers are adults. I get that it's generational & yes, she told the truth, but still not okay for either one ESP Bieber. But then, I don't think people expect much from him. And his PR is a lot better than hers.

ReplyDeleteThere is no problem with Paula Deen. The problem lies in the people who ran her career from NYC. If she was discriminating, please show me, because all of her kitchen staff are African-American. She was getting too big for some people. She had brought her two handsome sons into the mix and they were publishing cook books, too. And, they both had cooking and travel shows on Cable. Doing quite well, I might add. Paula is a small town Georgia gal (not from Savannah) and is not familiar with how the folks in NYC run things. She was thrown under the Nancy Hanks for no reason at all. As mentioned, numerous celebrities have made questionable statements that aren't PC and got away with it. I am not defending her statements one bit. But to totally destroy a person's career and life and family is beyond the pale. When those Paula Deen products in the stores are all sold, they won't be reordering more.

ReplyDeleteI reside in NYC but work and vacation lots of places, and can definitively say that the South, in general, is nicer than almost everywhere in California. Comparable % of population living in trailers, too.
Plus, everytime I'm in LA, I see plenty of fat Oaxacan people.

ReplyDeleteWhile Paula may have gotten worse press than most celebs who say racist things, I don't generally feel sorry for multimillionaires, unless they're being abused or something.
ReplyDeleteI live in LA & everything you say is true. For every Pilates-honed toned body here, there are at least 5 obese Mexicans. At least the Southern fatties are friendly & speak English.
ReplyDeleteI must say that I was really dismayed that Mark Fuhrman became such a celeb after all that THAT racist,crooked cop said,did,didn't do & lied about on the stand.Seriously,i couldn't believe that news shows were deferring to him as one of their expert commentators & that people were buying his book about the Skakel Murder in Greenwich,etc... gawd,it rubbed me the wrong way....obviously, it still does.That guy has made out like a bandit b/c of his performance on the stand during the O.J. case.Something's very wrong about that.

ReplyDeleteYou silly Yankee! She has all African-American cooks because THEY are the ONLY people who can cook AUTHENTIC Southern food!!! They brought the recipes with them from Africa and introduced them to the Southern people! I love the 'authentic' Italian restaurants in Little Italy here in NYC whose entire cooking staff is Mexican! Hello? Mexicans and African-Americans are the real deal when it comes to cooking authentic Mexican and Southern foods.

My point is, in both Paula AND Fuhrman's cases, their reputations were destroyed by a legal case digging up ONE very old, old, mention of the N word. (although there wrre other instances of Paula making racially offensive references snd remarks. And her son being flat out racist and a sexual harrasser.)
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad in Fuhrman's case because there was a mountain of good, legitimate evidence against OJ, who SHOULD be serving his prison time on Death Row.
there were many instances of Fuhrman making racially offensive remarks as well...and after a bit of time he was able to bounce back & has done very well for himself. He's currently doing some commentator thing for ESPN....and he's got another book in the works...like his 8th.That was the prosecution's fault-they knew the defense was going to bring that stuff up.We all know that the OJ trial was a circus and a travesty of justice.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree that certain ethnicities are better cooks. There's a few Greek churches up here that have festivals with lots of food. Usually one of the Greek church members who owns a diner is in charge of the food preparation. Last year for whatever reason, they hired Mexicans to do it. I didn't go but I heard it was the worst food ever and my family didn't even go this year because it was so bad. You can learn how to cook but it's really something you need to grow up around, observing your older family members.
