Blind Items Revealed #4 - Kindness

May 20, 2016

This permanent A+ list musician who rarely rarely sings but has had a lot of hits with people he brings in donates about 1,000 bottles of water each day to a homeless shelter and is out at the same shelter several times a week serving meals.

Santana are absolutely amazing live. And he is a virtuoso on the guitar. No surprise he did this, he's a humble beautiful soul.

There is probably a reason, but bottles of water? Don't they have current water (or whatever you call that kind of water that most of us peasants drink that comes from a water tap)? Serving meals and spending money is nice, but giving them a couple of glasses in order to use with a water tap would save money to use in other less easily foundable things like food, shelter or sartorial related stuff.

  12. Somebody asked this when the blind first appeared. A poster mentioned that the people can take the bottles with them during the day or night. They are homeless. They might not want to go to the shelter to get a glass of water This is awesome, especially in climates where one needs to carry water with them all day.

  13. Or they can recycle them for drug/booze $

  14. Yes because all homeless people are just about booze and drugs. Consider the state of mental health providers or that most families only have enough in savings to live for 1 month or the cost of healthcare these days. We are all one event from it. Show some compassion and consideration.

    + infinity @Anon
@Meg comment is a false stereotype that's been shoved onto the US public by the media, etc.
I work as an advocate for people who are disabled, living in poverty, abused, etc. for a group of cities w/ populations of approx 200,000 combined.
On average, we get calls from 12 people per week who are living out if their cars. 90%+ are two parent families with 1-3 kids. They aren't addicts, mentally ill, or disabled. They have lost their jobs & have no home. The only work they can find us minimum wage, which in no way is enough to support even 1 person to above the poverty line. There is a tremendous need for affordable housing. Just as horrible - both utility companies can legally shut off someone's power even if they need it to live. Seriously. I've seen it happen. Person was dependent on O2 & was told to "take their O2 machine & walk to a neighbor's house & plug it in" by a supervisor @ electric company.
Don't buy into the BS the media feeds you. There are millions living below the poverty line who do not fit the convenient stereotypes the media portrays.
