Blind Item #7
This foreign born A- list actor who should be a Bond but won't be because the producers are too close minded shared a story recently. The actor, not known for being faithful was hitting on this C list celebrity who is an offspring and sometime companion of an annoying former tweener. The celebrity told our actor that she doesn't date guys of color.

ReplyDeleteIdris/Hailey Baldwin?
ReplyDeleteWell, is she is going to date a black guy-may as well be the whitest black-guy on the planet
ReplyDeleteDrake and Hailey Baldwin Are 'Dating Super Casually,' Says Source
People Magazine - 20 hours ago
After getting "very affectionate" at his Memorial Day party on Monday, Drake and Hailey ...
As one sleaze to another, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI am disappointed in Idris for hitting on a bland Baldwin bitch. Thought he had better taste than that.
ReplyDeleteLSA is having fun with this one.
ReplyDelete+50
ReplyDeleteHe just tumbled several rungs
Idris Elba should not be James Bond for the same reason Jesse Eisenberg would have been the wrong actor to play Django in "Django Unchained."
ReplyDeleteAnd having a type isn't racism. Nobody has a civil right to turn anybody else on.
A 43 year old hitting on a teenager. At least Cavill was ten years closer in age to her.
ReplyDeleteI don't see this as Idris though he is an unfaithful alley cat whom I would still bed. I kinda see this as Drake. Definitely see this as Drake... and even if she didn't date "men of color" I could see how she might not date this cornball player.
ReplyDeleteGuess it would have to be Idris...since I missed the James Bond comment. Still not buying. Huge Bond fan but I am not believing him as Bond especially if he can't pull this off. Damn, now your stock fell Idris.
ReplyDeleteIdris happens to be good friends with will, harry and charles. since when is a friend of the royals not acceptable bond material?
ReplyDeleteof course it's idris. still love him though. i'll try to shove this to the dark recesses of my mind.
ReplyDeleteDon't see why race should be an issue. Bond's supposed to be a dark haired Scot which Daniel Craig and a whole load of Bond actors haven't been.
ReplyDeleteIdris has got the right 'vibe' for a Bond. He's certainly more fitting for it than Hiddleston who's built like a rake!
aaawww happy to see you want Idris to be the next Bond too, seriously he would be fucking hardcore perfect, he could really boost the franchise.
ReplyDeletealba/hudson/jonas?
ReplyDelete(hudson IS C list celebrity/offspring...)
Also, Duane "The Rock" Johnson has the right "vibe" to play Bob Cratchett in the next remake of "A Christmas Carol, and Oprah should play Tiny TIm.
ReplyDeleteNo, Elba doesn't have the right "vibe" to play James Bond, and yes, race should be an issue, just as it should be in casting "Shaft" or "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon III: Electric Boogaloo."
Idris is always hitting on young actresses. He was hanging on Dakota Johnson at BAFTA pre-party. Don't think this Blind is her though. More likely Baldwin. Still adore Idris. And think he'd be great at Bond. But he has too many tattoos. Coz I don't believe
ReplyDeleteits due to his colour. Those tats would make filming VERY difficult. Hiddleston is a good actor. Seems a bit giggly for Bond. jmo
Idris would be a great Bond! He has charm, charisma, and a great body. He can actually express different emotions, unlike Daniel Craig.
ReplyDeleteFor him to not be considered is definitely because he is black....Also if this is Hailey Baldwin, she may have told him that because of his age. He's too old for that youngster. I think it's someone else.
I would love to see Idris as Bond.
ReplyDeleteBrad Pitt would be a great Shaft! He has charm, charisma, and a great body.
ReplyDeleteBut he should not be considered for the role, quite rightly, because he is white, and the character is black.
Idris won't be Bond. He's playing Roland in The Dark Tower franchise. That's a much better role. But some of Stephen King's racist fans are going berserk that he was cast. Roland's a white guy in case you aren't familiar with the series.
ReplyDeleteJames Bond is a role that has never done anything for an actor's career unless he was a nobody or near-nobody before he took on the role. Daniel Craig isn't getting any offers.
He shouldn't be Bond, he's a dreadful actor. Adrian Lester on the other hand...
ReplyDeleteDrake isn't a person of color. He's Canadian.
ReplyDelete(Calm down, it's a joke.)
Clearly supposed to be Hailey Baldwin and Idris because she just was spotted to dinner with Drake but WHYYYYY you would choose Drake over Idris Elba is the question, because Elba is clearly the hotter one in that scenario.
ReplyDeleteAren't there rumors Drake is gay though? So prolly just a bearding PR scenario so maybe she only beards for black guys.
What are you on about? Brad Pitt would make a terrible Shaft! Maybe someone like Chris Evans.
ReplyDeleteActually, I take that back. My vote is for Ryan Gosling for Shaft.
ReplyDeleteJames Bond isn't a real dude you guys. It's not like people are up in arms for Idris to play Winston Churchill. He's a fake dude who is rarely played to type in the novels. It's 2016, have a little imagination. And fun, darn it.
ReplyDelete@derek harvey
ReplyDeleteHailey Baldwin is an up-and-coming on-call beard. bieber started it!
I'm guessing that maybe she doesn't like darker skinned black men? I guess it's her choice, but Idris is hot.
ReplyDeleteWhile you are absolutely right JAS most people don't really know what Bond is all about. All they see is a British spy and don't know or appreciate the class and background distinctions that make Bond what he is. There is no arguing with those that don't know or care about that and only think that Elba would make a great spy and that it must be racist not to cast him as Bond.
ReplyDeleteCan't hate on who someone is physically attracted to or not. Just because she doesn't date men outside her race doesn't make her racist despite what the blind suggests. People are generally attracted to those homogeneous with themselves. Some are, so what, no big deal. Just because someone dates outside their race doesn't make them somehow a better or unbiased person.

ReplyDeleteHahaha !
ReplyDeleteWell said
hahaha
*J.A.S
ReplyDeleteDaddy should play James Bond!!!!!
ReplyDeletelol @Derek - he really is the whitest black guy on the planet.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Ian Fleming, Roger Moore was the actor who came the closest to embodying the James Bond he created. I think we can all agree that Roger Moore was not the best Bond.
ReplyDeleteIdris Elba would be fine as James Bond. Time marches on and that franchise is as old as Methuselah. The idea that the British Secret Service can't have black Double-0 agents in 2016 is fucking ridiculous.
^THIS.
ReplyDeleteYeah...time for a white boy Shaft. Definitely Brad Pitt. If you can have a black James Bond, and a black Roland from Dark Towers Series...then I want to see a white Shaft.
ReplyDelete#1- Tom Hiddleston should be the next bond, NOT Idris Elba. It's not a color thing. It's a HE WAS BORN FOR THIS PART thing. He probably won't get it because I heard his agent is going to screw it up by being greedy, but imo, that is who they should cast. Casting Idris Elba just because he is a man of color when he isn't the best for the role is as racist as not casting him even if is best for the role because he is a man of color.
ReplyDelete#2- Enty, you're making it sound like because she told him this she's some kind of racist. That is incorrect. I personally am not attracted to men of color in general, either. I have many friends who are only attracted to men of color and aren't attracted to white men at all. I have other friends who like all different races and colors. It comes down to personal preference. No one should feel obligated to date someone or hook up with someone simply because they don't want to come across in a negative light by some who can't see it for what it is: personal attraction and personal preference.
Can we all please stop trying to label everyone in the world with all these different completely made up labels already??? Sheesh...
Thank you for getting it! I have watched most of the films and read many of the novels. A black actor would not work at all. Even though Bond is played in modern times he is still from a different era. People make comments, but they know nothing of the background and essence of the character.
