Blind Item #3
A couple of athletes skipping non-traditional events at the Olympics are doing so because they can't pass Olympic caliber drug testing which will test for things not necessarily banned by their own organizations.

ReplyDeleteRory McIlroy? He released a statement saying he's withdrawing coz of the Zika virus. Which may be code for wont pass drug test. Lol!
ReplyDeletelol tricia i know this a typo but it cracked me up! he certainly looks like a rory mccolory. he looks cartoonish
ReplyDeleteyup--Golf would be the non-traditional event
ReplyDeleteand these guys skipped out as well
"A number of big names, including Fiji's Vijay Singh and Charl Schwartzel of South Africa, have also withdrawn because of the virus."
I gotta say that the Zika Virus situation had already put a pall over any excitement of the Olympics in Rio for me but after learning that they shot & killed that beautiful leopard(their MASCOT for chrissakes) yesterday, I am sooooo put off by the whole thing at the moment. don't like 'the signs' so far....
ReplyDeleteMy Irish ancestors wouldn't be pleased with me though lol!
ReplyDeleteWhat about a leopard?
ReplyDeleteJuma The Jaguar..(sorry,not a leopard but a rare Amazon jaguar) was killed.awful awful story..
ReplyDelete{ www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2016/06/21/jaguar-shot-dead-after-olympic-ceremony-in-brazil/ }
...but the adult coloring book golf enthusiasts would!
ReplyDeleteYet the Russians will be competing ... maybe this is one of the reasons why Jean-Luc Brassard left as Chef d'Emission (or whatever the title is) for the Canadian athletes. There's a story there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteSerena and Venus
ReplyDeleteThat Zika virus is scary shit. Brazil just didn't get their shit together, all the way 'round.
ReplyDeleteYeah, these Games look like a cluster-fuck waiting to happen. I'm not convinced the venues will be ready in time or safe if they are ready.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I have read, the harbor needed for crew and kayaking was supposed to be cleaned up 2 years ago but is still full of raw sewage. If I was inclined to attend, I would have every inoculation available.
ReplyDeleteIf they are crack heads call them out I say since they call out other athletes misfortunes.
