Blind Item #2
What had just been sniping between these two leads for the next installment of their franchise has turned into war. An epic battle of phone calls and texts and e-mails to producers and to the now departed director to take their side. Casting and amounts of dialogue and trailers and days off and a million other things they are fighting over. Apparently it had even affected the marriage of the now departed director.

ReplyDeleteElizabeth Banks won't be directing Pitch Perfect 3
ReplyDeleteDaily Mail-Jun 7, 2016
Busy mom! Elizabeth Banks isn't going to direct the third installment of Pitch Perfect, it was revealed on Tuesday; here she is seen in 2015.

ReplyDeleteFifty Shades - Dornan and Johnson
ReplyDeleteBtw Im a Damie! So I hope it's not them. Departed director - Sam Taylor Johnson
At least the gossip sites aren't going the route they did when AK was filming "The Accountant" and Ben and Jen had their issues. Because obviously if there are family woes for someone on a movie set, it's because AK is having sex with them.

Spoke and Saldana
ReplyDeleteMy guess
ReplyDeleteJust stop it, it won't work!
ReplyDeleteBanks said she pulled out of directing to be with her family.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like Rebel Wilson has problems with everyone she works with. And I'm not a big fan of Kendrick, something about her annoys the hell out of me. These two must be joys to works with.
ReplyDeleteShe annoys the hell out of me, too!! Something about her ferret face makes me want to smack the crap out of her.
ReplyDeleteYep, it's Pitch Perfect 3. Anna/Rebel and Elizabeth. I don't know how Rebel will last that much longer, she sounds like a classic mean girl that's jealous of skinnier and prettier co-stars. She's been famous for awhile now, she could get a trainer or the stomach stapling procedure if she wanted. She just sounds like a lazy, jealous cow!!!
ReplyDelete(me three)
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling I was going to be seeing a blind about this. Bullshit. Pure bullshit. I worked on the first 2, I'll be working on the 3rd. NOTHING that has happened on set during those first two is unusual from any other movie I've worked on. I've worked on a lot of movies and TV shows. Any "feuding" between Rebel and Anna is nothing compared to shit that's gone on with other sets I've worked on. Rebel is loud and it can get grating, but not enough to try and get the person fired.
ReplyDeleteAnd the idea that they're fighting to get producers to side with them is fucking ridiculous. ELIZABETH AND HER HUSBAND ARE THE MAIN PRODUCERS ON THE MOVIE!!!!!! If Anna got Liz fired there would be zero point in Anna trying to get Liz on her side. If she was the reason for stress in Elizabeth's marriage there would be zero chance Anna would be winning her over. Liz isn't directing, but she's the main producer. She runs things and anyone she chooses to take over as director is going to have to be approved by Liz and her husband Max.
Anna's getting $6 million for PP3 plus a part of the back end. Rebel's getting $3 million. The execs at Universal, the other producers have already decided who to side with. When you give double the money to one person you're choosing their side. Rebel would know that, so there would be zero point into trying to win people over. Rebel and Anna aren't idiots. They both would know there's no point to doing shit like this. Everything I've read about what's happening behind the scenes is getting shit so wrong that I would say it's funny except it's making people that don't know them think they're gigantic pains in the ass to work with. I've worked on the 2 PP movies and 2 other movies with Anna. She's great, far better than most actors I've worked with. Rebel's got a little bit of that "I was picked on growing up so I'm going to insult people as an adult," but not to a bullying level like some of the gossip has been making it sound. She's a comedic actress, she's loud, she makes fun of people, makes fun of herself, it's really nothing that I haven't heard before on sets.
And the people that insult Anna, you're fucking idiots. She's great. She's funny and she's gorgeous in person with no makeup on. Before you assume I've got a crush on her, I'm as gay as the day is long. The cast is full of really great people, it's a good set to be on for most days, but like any set where you're all spending 12 to 16 hours together almost every day for months it gets a little tense sometimes. That's not unusual on a movie set. It happens on every set with the nicest people on earth. Such incredible bullshit, but I can't say I'm surprised Enty is writing about it. I'm just surprised it took him this long to post a blind about it!
I have decided you're my favorite person on this site. :)
ReplyDeleteyay Rory. :)
ReplyDeleteanyone with even half a brain knows that Anna Kendrick has a reputation for being extremely professional. everyone who works with her says that about her. she takes her job very seriously. the thought of her "fighting with producers over days off and the amount of lines in a movie" is fucking laughable to say the least. that's so anti-Anna it's incredible. she's not a diva. never has been, never will be. CDAN is never to be taken seriously. this stuff is just trashy gossip.
noooooo....ferret is cute!
ReplyDeleteshe has an adenoid bird face w/ mouth breathing....
& this "curvy" 40 yo gurl rebel looks just retarded (no animal insult!)...
Awe shucks! :)
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention Enty talking about them fighting over the amount of lines. Anna was in like 30 minutes of the second movie. Rebel was in more of it and I'm pretty sure had more lines. Anna didn't care. She's getting $6 million for the movie, if she didn't care about the amount of lines before, she sure as hell isn't going to care now that she's getting paid more. She would be getting paid the same for doing less work. I never heard a word about Anna fighting to get more lines in the second movie, so I sure as hell don't see her all of a sudden giving a shit about how many lines she has when she's being paid more than everyone else.
ReplyDeleteI wish it was just CDAN, but this is showing up in other places. The reason I'm really pissed about this is I know that there are people who read these things and believe them. There are some that say they don't believe anything on here, but when you read things they write you realize they do assume some of it is true and they've formed opinions on people based on what they read on gossip sites. It's very sad, but I doubt anything I'm saying will get through to people that comment on these and kind of assume there's some truth to what Enty is writing.
Well you know how that goes. That excuse is used to the point of hilarity when politicians or bureaucrats are asked to leave.....
ReplyDeleteJesus Rory, who the hell in the gossip world did Kendrick piss off? Star is reporting she and Gwen Steffani are feuding because Kendrick has no filter and gave "pointers" to Gwen during the recordings on Trolls.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that Gossip Cop are the only friends she has in the tabloid/rumor business.
thanks for the skinny of what's really going on (or rather NOT going on).
ReplyDeleteone thing though, I assume everyone who reads here absolutely takes it all with a wink & a nod & with huuuuge grains of salt...Anyone who reads Enty's disclaimer knows that most of the stuff is fiction. It's just a guilty pleasure b/c the commenters are so entertaining.
Yeah - someone "wants more time with his/her family" is about as reliable a reason as "dehydration and exhaustion" are when some drugged up celeb ends up in the ER.
ReplyDeleteI hereby nominate Rory CDaN Poster of the Month.
ReplyDeleteAll in favor?
AYE!
It's unanimous.
Great. Fucking. Post.
Rebel Wilson seems to getting into trouble with many of her cast members. Rumors of her feuding with Dakota Johnson appeared earlier this year.
ReplyDeleteI don't know! I looked at the Gwen Stefani story and someone pointed out that the whole story is based off of Anna and Gwen being in the studio together to record for the song of Justin Timberlakes. The problem is that they don't sing on the song. They were in the music video, but they weren't together. Anna was on a different set, probably on a different day shooting her part and Gwen was driving a car around for her part. Pure BS on that one it looks like! I wish all of them were that easy to pick apart and show why it's wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that's in Star Magazine, so more people are seeing it. I doubt they would retract something like that, so now there's people that think Anna's annoying and a bitch to work with.
I know actors that have had this happen to them and it's usually when they're up for a part in a movie against someone else. Say Anna is up for a part against Lea Michelle. I've heard both of them be mentioned for Wicked, so let's say that's not just fan speculation, but it's down to those two for a part. Lea could personally call gossip people she knows, call friends that will contact the gossips sites and mags, or have their agent or publicist do it. Now the producers get ready to pick between the two of them and see that Anna's got all these stories coming out about her being horrible to work with, so they figure "Do we want to deal with this kind of shit?"
Now Lea gets the job and Anna's out of one. It sadly happens a lot. I've always assumed at least half of the gossip here is from publicist or agents that want to spread stuff about someone that's up for parts their client is up for. It's junior high crap that I can't believe is still allowed to happen.
I'm sure most do, but there's people that say they don't believe any of it but still talk like they do. I hope no one believes any of it, but on other sites, or in Star Magazine like the Gwen Stefani/Anna story they had? I think there's a ton of people that do believe that shit. It sucks because if PP3 doesn't do well it could easily have an impact on many people's careers. That's why it's so hard to ready things you know are not true being spread around.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm in between jobs at the moment! Have way too much free time while I wait for a job to start in a couple weeks. I'm just glad so many people realize that these are rumors and not facts from Enty and the other gossip sites.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I heard(literally, just a day ago, but, these guys lie all the time)the 'powers-that-be'..a/k/a the 'Producers' have SPECIFICALLY been requesting that only 'Semi-Famous Names'(so to speak) be cast in the top 3 marquee'd roles for "Wicked"...& then grab a 'Big Name' for that pivotal role.... they don't want any 'movie stars' overtaking the story from what I've gleaned.AND,they are adament about wanting to introduce to the World their new Ingenues...in 2017-18.
ReplyDeleteI was just coming up with a hypothetical to explain my point. I see some of the "dream casting" that fans put up for it and saw Anna and Lea Michelle. I was just using that as a way to explain what sometimes happens in Hollywood when it comes to gossip. I had heard Lea and Anna had meetings, but I don't really know much about Wicked's casting process. I was just trying to think of some hypothetical situation where an actress up for a role might try to get the role by spreading gossip about the other.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear they're doing this with the casting. It's going to be interesting to see what their idea of "semi famous names" are.
Wow, that's harsh. No wonder actresses always talk about how hard it is to fight for good roles.
ReplyDeleteI guess it also explains some of her uncharacteristic responses in a couple recent interviews (Phillipenes inquirer)...this shit has to be super-annoying for her.
And if you're bored you could always tell us more stories ;)
What were the comments in the interview that you're talking about?
ReplyDeleteThe good part of being an actor is the money and it's easier than manual labor for sure. It's still hard and stressful in its own way. The really bad part of it is the auditioning, dealing with sleazy producers, execs, directors, casting directors, other more famous actors. I always try to talk people that want to become an actor or want their kid to be an actor to not do it. Once they make up their mind about it though, there's no talking them out of it.
There's so many horrible stories about things that have happened to women in the industry. It's such a brutal industry for women, so it's always awful to hear about women attacking other women. I used Lea Michelle in my example because I worked with her this past year. She's off the charts awful. Definitely spreads gossip about people, talks shit about other actresses on set when she knows they're listening. Enty's posted blinds about it and I can confirm how awful she is. When I was talking about the Wicked movie that was an example, but if the producers ever had a part that came down to the two of them I have no doubt Lea would be doing shit like that to Anna.
To get through the business and get to a good place with your career is so insanely hard. Women that make it are survivors as far as I'm concerned. But I see women hurting other women by spreading gossip all the time and can't get over the fact that they know how awful the industry already is to women, but instead of making it better they try to make it even more awful. I hope the person doing this to Anna has a massive amount of bad karma coming their way.
It was a news site that interviewed her about Mike & Dave. Asked some questions about Aubrey and then asked her the usually taboo "Are you dating anyone" question which she replied "No." which is not her usual dodge answer or flat out "Don't ask about that". The rest of the questions seemed off after that but when I went to grab you the link I just noticed that it's excerpts so maybe the disjointedness is because the writer is picking and choosing
ReplyDeletehttp://entertainment.inquirer.net/196018/anna-kendrick-scrappy-little-nobody
That really does have a disjointedness to it. That question about the boyfriend could have been at any point in the interview too. Just a flat "no" is odd, but her publicist normally tells someone not to ask about her personal life before the interviewer ever talks to Anna. For all we know she could have been saying "no" but said it in a way like "I don't talk about that and I know you were told not to ask." That's the thing with print interviews, when you say something people only see the words you said, not how you said it. She could be saying "no" to move the interview along too.
ReplyDeleteI assumed this is what happened when Rebel did an interview where it made it sound like she was saying every actress from the cast took adderall to stay thin. I've been on set when actors have someone doing an article on them and they're spending the day with the actor to interview them. Then you see the finished product and sometimes it turns out really weird. They take something from 10 minutes after they met and put that in the middle of a conversation about something else that took place near the end of the day.
I don't know that I'm getting anything from the questions that involve Aubrey, but I read it fast, so might have missed something. Thanks for the link!
Hadn't thought of the "no" being "don't ask". There were rumors from the set of her bf's last movie that he was messing around with crew members so that could have colored the reaction of the person who pointed it out to me (and thus colored my initial reading)
ReplyDeleteI could see that coloring your view. It's just one of many possibilities. A no can mean so much more than "no." Print interviews are awful for this very reason. Someone can say a word, it gets put in the story, but you don't get to hear how the word was said. All the reader has to go off of is the word that's printed and not how the person sounded when they said it. I don't know what her relationship is like today. I can only go off of what I see and hear when I work with her, or what I hear from other people that know her.
ReplyDeleteOn the subject of Anna's relationship it's probably best I don't talk about it! :)
Because she'll rough you up? ;)
ReplyDeleteHear that gossip writers? Anna Kendrick's abusive to crew! She looks tiny, but she packs a punch! :)
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm sure I'll eventually say something about it, but I'm trying not to because some other people that claim to know her have posted comments on other stories about her and I don't want to add to that kind of craziness.
That's fair. We just love picking your brain about the industry in general. Which the comments here allowed PMs
ReplyDeleteIf you want something to tease her about, ask her how many pictures exist of her in "Southern Canuckistani Style" at Old Orchard. It's a joke up here in New England that the beaches near where she grew up attract a TON of people from Canada who all where black socks and sandals to the beach. It got bad for a bit many moons ago because pick pockets knew exactly who to target as a tourist who would have extra cash
LOL! I'll have to remember that for when we shoot PP3! I never would have thought of Maine as a place with a lot of pick pockets!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind people picking my brain. I'm sure I'll be writing a long reply to someone and say something that I shouldn't. I think I've done that already! I have commented a little about her and Ben, but nothing really personal that's all that interesting to people. Anything I would know about their relationship today would be from people that I talk to that also know her really well. The stuff I personally know is from when we shot the movies. I'm sure there's fans that know more about their relationship currently than I do.
i know one thing for sure, one of Anna's creepy stalkers has been trying to break her and Ben up for awhile now, even going as far as to send fake blinds in to this site, which were all disproven almost immediately. now it seems like the stalker is getting tired of making up Anna rumors and wants to start ones up about Ben. it's all BS. Anna and Ben are both very private and do not talk about their relationship to anyone other than very close/personal friends of theirs. so, unless you're a very close friend of theirs, you have no idea what goes on with them and their relationship.
ReplyDeleteAnna's very guarded and reserved. she doesn't discuss her private life with anyone who she isn't extremely close with and who she fully trusts. which is why you can never believe people here when they say they know her. that's not directed at you Rory, you haven't said anything from what I've seen that has crossed a line or seems like total bullshit. i'm referring to others who have posted here in the past that have claimed to know Anna personally and were caught telling lies and making up gossip about her. if someone were to ever get close enough to Anna to know personal things about her, they sure as hell wouldn't come to a gossip site to spread it around! close friends don't do that. and people who are just simply acquaintances of hers would never be privy to that sort of information.
there have been co-stars of Anna's that have said how hard it is to get to know her. she doesn't open up to people easily. Anna herself has also said several times that on set she usually prefers to be left alone and read rather than hang out with other people. not saying she never does, just that it's something that she doesn't like to do a lot.
anyways, yeah, it would be nice if this place had pm's wouldn't it? or other ways to communicate. this board system is so outdated. :(
On the stalkers, I think at least one of them had a run in with the Twitter police and likely the real police. I remember when someone (maybe HuggieBear) pointed out his crazy in another thread I sent the link to a friend of mine in mental health. Her analysis just of his tweets scared the crap out of both of us...paranoid schizophrenic, three different delusion categories, dissociative leading to full MPD...just the shit nightmares are made of.
ReplyDeleteThe other main one wasn't quite as bad but definitely dissociative as well with lesser delusion categories. It made her (my friend) think that the person is actually likely a teenager whose mental condition is just starting to get out of hand. That one is the one most likely doing the blinds you refered to because they post similar crap on a regular basis to Twitter.
yeah, the first one (the Mexican guy) was definitely suffering from some severe mental illness. I haven't heard anything about him in awhile so he's probably locked up in some institution right now... or in jail.
ReplyDeletethe guy from twitter is really mentally unbalanced too. I agree that he's the one who's probably sending in the fake blinds. I know he hates Ben. he says some nasty things about Anna too. I guess he hates the fact that she completely ignores him. I doubt she even looks at his tweets which probably makes him even more upset and want to say even more outrageous things just to try and get her attention. which she'd never give him. cause Anna doesn't tolerate creepy fans as we know. I know he was caught posting in a blind awhile back prentending to know her personally and saying awful things about her. people saw right through it very quickly and figured out who he was. what a creep. it's sad that these people can't realize how sick they are and how much help they need. it's not normal to do the things they do, but their minds are broken and they don't seem to understand that.
Yeah, we had a family friend who was dissociative, 8 distinct personalities when not on meds. She had a reaction to a new medication once and went full blown in front of me and my younger brother (we were 15 and 5 at the time). Scary shit.
ReplyDeleteBut the one still posting, my friend thinks is actually a teenage or 20 something woman with a couple of male personalities. Word choice and phrasing is what she was going off of (but I didn't think to show her the convo in the blinds for more data).
Oh, and we made it a full week without Enty posting yet another Anna blind. We should have a party or something. JD, you're on booze. Rory brings the food. I'll bring CAH.
What's MPD? I've read more and more about these stalkers. I don't know very much about them. I do see the comments that have been made on this site, but the only Twitter thing I looked at was a guy that thought he was married to the real Anna, but she was killed and replaced by a robot. I laughed at it because it sounds so ridiculous. I forgot that there are very disturbed people in the world and he just might believe what he was writing.
ReplyDeleteThe Mexican guy is the one I know more about because I read some of his writings. The other, if we're talking about the same account, has an animal name. It's a woman not a guy, but the writing is kind of like the writing of a teenage girl to my eyes. I didn't want to go down that road, so I didn't read more than a few of the tweets from that account. It's scary stuff and an example I'll probably use when someone ask me if they should try to become an actor.
ReplyDeleteI must have missed the tweets that were saying nasty things to Anna. The stuff I read was written like she is protecting Anna from some other group. What I read made me think they're someone with a hero complex. That they could be setting something up where they save her and in their head they probably think that will lead to becoming friends with Anna. There's an actress from a movie I worked on that had something like that happen, so I see some similarities in the writing on that twitter account.
I'm no expert, but it's super odd to put it lightly. Oh, I was wondering what the nasty stuff they said to her was. I've only seen the stuff where they're talking about protecting her. The nasty stuff wouldn't really fit the hero complex type of stalker that I was talking about.
I've been saying it in multiple comments that I just posted. But my first reaction to the little I read on the twitter account is that it looked like a young woman was doing the tweeting. She says she's a woman, but her-him saying it doesn't mean it's true. I looked at the way it was written and my immediate reaction was "This is a young female fan." I've noticed with the Pitch Perfect movies that there's an unusual amount of fan fiction dedicated to the movies, so it's a lot of young women that like to write and create stories. Maybe that's what is happening now.
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested to know more about what your friend thinks. I'm just a guy that's going off of his own observations, but an actual expert that knows what they're talking about is something that I'd love to hear more about. I'll bring the pizza! :)
I'm sure Enty loves getting any kind of blind that he can put his twist on. He's putting out 12 blind items a day, so he's got to get them from someplace. I don't think he cares about accuracy.
ReplyDeleteI do have to disagree about Anna being so private. My experiences working with her are that she's a little hard to get to know at first. Then after a little time she gets a little more relaxed and opens up. She's not going into her deepest, darkest secrets, but she talks about her life, and sometimes that includes her boyfriend.
ReplyDeleteFor the record, I'm not saying I'm a friend of Anna Kendrick. We're work colleagues. We got fairly close on set, at least I think we did, but not close enough to where I'd call her to pick me up at the airport. On set though, during those long days, you eventually pass the time by talking about your life and that includes family and relationships. It takes a little longer with Anna for her to open up, but she does eventually open up. Maybe the the actresses that talk about her being hard to get to know have a different idea of what "open" is compared to Anna's version of "open."
There's also something I've noticed on all 4 of the movies I've done with her, she does seem to have closer relationships to the crew instead of the actors. I read an interview years ago where she talked about her upbringing and it was about a working class upbringing that gave her this work ethic to keep going, "no long breaks, you've got to keep working." It's a similar mindset to crew workers. We're taking job after job because we have to, but even if I were rich I would still take job after job because that's how I was raised.
One reason I always liked Anna is that she felt like a more genuine person compared to other actors. I've mentioned working with her to friends and they say she seems like a phony. Nope. I don't think so at all! She's fun to talk to, she has different interest, she's a person, where as many other actors are not like that. They're almost like a robot. She clearly has those signs of being raised in the middle class and having parents that worked their asses off. I think that's why the crew like to hang around her and why she seems to like interacting with the crew more than with the cast. That explains why she's dated two guys that work behind the camera and not anyone in front of it!
To your points about the stalkers. I'm still learning more and more about all that mostly from reading stuff on here. I have been using twitter a little more than normal this week. Not just for Anna's stalkers, but because I wanted to see what other rumors were being spread about PP3. I agree that no close friend of hers would come on here and say super personal stuff about her. Unless they were drunk and just had a fight with her. I guess that could happen. When I see actresses dealing with stalkers you find that there's so many more stalkers than you know about.
We might see two or three stalkers that Anna might have, but there's realistically way more out there that are better at hiding themselves. That's what's so scary. You think these two are the ones to be terrified of, but then there's these others that you didn't even know existed that are right around the corner.
Sorry for this one getting long. It's something I'm trying to understand, one because it's interesting, and two because unless the new director ends up firing me, I'll be working with Anna on PP3. Learning about these things might come in handy if she's stressed out. At least I'm learning what to look for so if I see someone that shouldn't be there I can get the security on set to get them off set.
The board is outdated!
MPD - multiple personality disorder. Extreme dissociative disorder where you can't cope with an event (or events) and so your mind literally creates another personality that can either handle the event or absorb the event so the core can move on. It's actually heartbreaking because not all personalities know about each other so people can end up doing things and not realize it until pointed out later
ReplyDeleteI think the nasty stuff JD is talking about is that the stalker has been saying Ben is working for another stalker to make AK miserable. This whole conspiracy about how he's feeding information to the stalker to make her life hell. And there was some shit about AK being pregnant by Ben and just yesterday congratulating her on being into BDSM (because everyone who has had an eating disorder is into BDSM by her reckoning)
And I agree with you on the hidden stalkers being more scary. I actually started following AK on Twitter as part of an experiment. Someone close to me is a month away from potentially becoming a name. And she's one of my closest people so when she told me the news I figured "You know, she is way too naive and compassionate to deal with social media...let's see what she's about to face". So I started following AK, Chloe Bennet, Wil Weaton, and Chris Pratt just to see what sorts of comments and attention they get.
I now own a nailbat because damned if I'm gonna let some of that crap fly on one of my people.
Anna definitely doesn't open up to people easily. only to people she considered friends. there are a few of her co-stars (male and female) who have said this. now i'm not saying that she doesn't talk to people on set, of course she does, but she doesn't get too personal with anyone. she's very guarded. sure she'll talk about things like where she's from, where she grew up, etc. i'm just saying that she wouldn't say anything personal that someone could run to a tabloid with. I've never worked with Anna so I can't say who she talks to on set, but (according to her) she prefers to be left alone and read most of the time. but i'm sure she is at least somewhat social on some sets, even though she claims to be a hermit. :)
ReplyDeleteas for the nasty stuff that twitter person has said about her. some of it RandomGuy mentioned. it's crazy shit. they'll pretend to be all friendly, then all of a sudden there will be a day where this person will literally flip out and start criticizing Anna for various things she's done, and even things she hasn't done. it seems like every month or so they think she's pregnant, then they go off on a rant about how awful her bf is and how he's secretly working for terrorists trying to kidnap her. they also talk about her having an eating disorder a lot. there was also a recent tweet about her being a bitch to fans and reporters during an interview for Mike & Dave.
man or woman, the person likely has MPD and is very, very ill. i'll go for months not looking at that account then visit it one day and say, "holy crap, they're still doing it?" it amazes me how they can post dozens of tweets every single day for like a year and a half and never stop once. that's the very definition of mental illness. where is this person's parents or family? don't they have a life? it's so messed up.
haha yeah that stuff was hilarious. he/she is getting as bad as that Mexican guy for conspiracy theories. don't you love it too how the person was pretending to be drunk? you can clearly tell they were deliberately misspelling words to make it seem that way. every program these days (mobile and PC) has some sort of spellcheck built in. it's impossible to spell that badly anymore unless it's deliberate. which it obviously was.
ReplyDeletewhat kind of security agency is this anyway that allows workers to be drunk all the time? it's hilarious. does this person not realize how the real world works? you'd be fired so fast at any job if that happened.
good luck to your friend! hope they do well. it's a tough business!
Thanks for the well wishes JD, and if she ever makes it onto CDAN in a blind I will make sure I clue in who she is ;)
ReplyDelete[Although, knowing her, the only blinds I think they could come up with for her are Kindness]
I have to be honest, I kind of thought MPD wasn't a real thing. I thought I've heard psychologist talk about it like it's not a real thing, I learn something new on here everyday!
ReplyDeleteI've mentioned in other comments about me trying to talk people out of acting. It's such a horrible business to women especially! I've worked on movies where a celeb is worried about some stalkers, then one day somebody shows up on set and say or do something to scare the hell out of the actor. Sometimes it's one of the people they've been worried about, other times it's someone new that they didn't know about. The cops get involved and soon they find out that the person has been stalking them for a year. It's awful. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.
I often wonder how many celebrities would go back and change career paths if they could. The money is good and you're doing a really weird and fun thing for your career, but when they finally see what fame is really like and what the industry is really like, would they have gotten into it if they really understood what they were bringing on themselves?
That BDSM stuff is crazy. Someone has an eating disorder so they must be into BDSM? I won't even try to talk about Anna's personal life on that level, but as an example let's say that this person made a wild guess and was actually right about her having an eating disorder. How fucking horrible of a person would they be for talking about that? If it's one person, two people, or who knows what he, she, they are awful people. That's seriously fucked up.
I wish that person close to you the best of luck, but please make sure she sees things like this. It's hard enough for guys in the business, it's a thousand times worse for women. Producers, directors, actors will invite her over to their place or to a hotel room to talk about the part, but they don't want to talk. There's the types like Bill Cosby that slip shit in their drinks. She should bring her own water in a metal bottle, don't let anyone else fill it and she shouldn't let it out of her sight. She has to be careful with food too. I can't believe I have to give advice like this, but that's how screwed up it is. The actual work is great. It's the type of people it attracts that makes it so dangerous to women.
I'm going to respond to another comment of yours below, so I don't want you to think I'm trying to start anything with you by disagreeing. But I'm going to do it in the comment below too.
ReplyDeleteI've got spell check on my phone like anyone else, yet I have a scary amount of drunk texts that look a lot like what she/he was sending on twitter. I was looking at it earlier and my boyfriends brother asked about it and I told him about what I knew about the stalkers. I mentioned the tweets and spell check, but he said if the person were real and did work in IT, most people at that level don't use Windows or Mac, they're using Linux. There's supposed to be thousands and thousands of different versions. Some are made for people in the line of work this person claims to be in and some of those versions of Linux don't have things like spell check.
Do I think it's real? I don't, but I have that itty bitty part of me that remembers other crazy shit that seemed fake that turned out to be real. That's what's scary. I'm sure Anna's thinking it's fake, but that girl that was just killed from the Voice might have thought her stalker wasn't real too. No one deserves to be treated this way. I wish I could do something for her. I would feel really creepy asking her about it. I might look like a stalker if I randomly asked her about it. "So how's it going with that crazy person following you everywhere? I've been reading their tweets! Put the pepper spray down!"
Hey Rory
ReplyDeleteMPD is a very controversial diagnosis and it does depend on the school that the therapist/shrink comes from. So you're not wrong there. But "dissociative personality" is something that is agreed on...some doctors think MPD is a fairly literal thing and others that it's an extreme fugue state, still others think it's a delusion. and so on and so on
I'm gonna be a bit vague on my person and where they are possibly enterring celeb status but while I will keep the advice in mind I don't think it's as much a thing for her. But like I said if she ends up in a blind I shall reveal ;)
So you're saying I shouldn't finish my Becchloe BDSM slash fanfiction?
ReplyDeleteWhat a waste of a Friday night.
(/sarcasm)
Less sarcastically Rory, while I greatly appreciate your insights and engaging with JD and I in the convo I think you need to dial back slightly. You haven't revealed anything about AK that would get you in trouble but you're putting a bit too much out there about yourself. Don't want someone to figure out who you are unless you're ok with that
ReplyDeleteI was worried about that. I get caught up in explaining something or thinking too much about not revealing something about another person that I forget to protect myself! The one good thing is there's a couple people on the crew that have worked with Anna on more than the Pitch Perfect movies. I will be thinking a little more hard about what I say about myself. Thank you for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the person close to you is going a different route. Maybe show her my comments and remind her to be more careful about what she reveals about herself! :)
we're just arguing semantics now Rory. it all depends on what a person's definition of personal is. I'm talking about things like wages, sex life, personal or private issues, maybe something health related. stuff like that. things you'd only tell a very close friend. Anna isn't revealing anything like that to anyone she isn't super close with. hell, some of these things you might not even want to tell your best friend! you said you agree with this too.
ReplyDeleteone of the people that said how hard it was to get to know Anna was Jeremy Jordan from The Last 5 Years. and not to be mean here, but i'd think that he's much closer to Anna than you are. they've been out drinking together, probably even have each others phone numbers. so, if she's not going to fully open up to him, then she wouldn't with a random crew member she hardly knows. working with someone a few times doesn't mean you know them. you might think you do, but you can work with someone for years everyday and still never really know them. and that's just for regular people, celebrities are a lot more guarded than the average person.
i'm not saying you're lying, i'm just saying that we have different interpretations of what that means. to me, if someone is opening up to me, they're telling me things they'd never tell anyone else. things they aren't comfortable talking about publically. that's what it means. things you'd only know if you were a close friend of someone's. that sort of thing. not random stuff that coworkers would casually talk about while shooting the shit on a film set. stuff like relationships, family, random things going on in life, etc... sure, that stuff is harmless.
as for Anna being a hermit, she's been describing herself as being that for many years. her words, not mine. I know she's said many times that her #1 thing to do on a movie set to pass the time is to read a book. there are even a few photos of her out there just sitting by herself on a set reading. that's not PR. she doesn't have to say anything. it's what she likes to do. now, don't misinterpret that. I never said she doesn't talk to people onset, that would be stupid. of course she does. and she obviously would feel more comfortable on the set of PP where she's surrounded by women who she (mostly) gets along with. her comfort level on that film is probably a little higher than others because of that.
anyways, not sure how we even got on this topic. RandomGuy is probably just sitting back with popcorn. please don't write back a lengthy reply because it'll just become back and forth rhetoric at this point. we're more or less saying the same things just arguing semantics! those are always the worst kind of convos because they literally go nowhere.
oh, did you guys see our stalker creep today come out and say they think they'll be fired because of their drunk tweets? I guess they read my post where I said anyone ever caught drinking on a job would be fired immediately. what an idiot. I love how this person thinks Anna likes 50 Shades of Grey too when she's been on record saying she hates that shit. she wants to kill Christian Grey lol.
there's no doubt it's fake. that's not even a question. it's just sad that this person has no life whatsoever and has spent the better part of the last 1-2 years stalking an actress that couldn't careless about them. sometimes I feel like reaching out to the person and telling them to get out more, get some fresh air, meet people, make friends, get a girlfriend/boyfriend and live their life and stop obsessing over a celebrity. then I realize i'd probably just get blocked anyway and it would be a waste of time. we only get one life, so sad how some people waste it doing nothing.
ReplyDeleteI think i'd rather be a woman in Hollywood than a child actor. have you heard some of that shit that Corey Haim and Corey Feldman went through when they were younger? no wonder they turned to drugs. that would mess anyone up really bad. and sadly it cost Haim his life.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the new tweets. To be honest I haven't read everything they tweet because after reading a few of them I start feeling sick, knowing that this sick person could one day attack Anna like that guy that shot the girl from The Voice. I read some of it and then get a little sick to my stomach and stop. Maybe the newest tweets mean they are going to stop stalking her. Or does it mean that in their mind the personality that's the girl in the group is going to stop, but they will continue tweeting as the other people?
ReplyDeleteI agree that arguing semantics goes nowhere. I did glance at the twitter account of the stalker just now. They haven't tweeted since last night where they talked about being fired. I really, really hope this is a sign they are giving up!
Without a doubt it's horrible for children. It depends on the parents you have. Some parents know to never leave their kids alone, so they are like their shadow. The issue is that far too many parents don't watch their kids that close. They're obsessed with their kids being successful and making money, not only for the child but for the parents. Child actors are getting too much success and fame in life too soon. Without excellent parenting they're destined to have issues later in life.
ReplyDeleteFor women in Hollywood it's not just that you can be drugged, raped, or at least given drugs that you get addicted to, it's that producers, directors, executives get into your head and make you start to doubt yourself. They break the women's spirit, make them question their own looks, their own personalities. Doing things to a child is about as bad as it can get, but all of it is terrible. I wouldn't advise anyone to get into that line of work. Male, female, or children.
Sadly not. There was a male personality named Pup that used to post until he got drunk and ranted about some gossip rumor about AK hooking up with someone. He was "punished" and then tragically had a stroke. So odds are we will see a new name tweeting until they cross their self imposed boundary again
ReplyDeleteLooks like Enty went a full week with no new AK blinds but has one about two other PP castmates. Check out Blind #4 from today and fire away ;)
ReplyDeleteskylar and camp? seems odd to be them. you'd have to be one hell of a d-bag to cheat on camp.
ReplyDeleteI try to avoid it as well. I hadn't looked at it in months until this week. I was shocked they're still going. you know the more I look at the tweets, the more I think you could be right and that it could be a young woman. there is a certain unhinged-fangirl type of writing to it. and a definite lack of maturity as well.
ReplyDeletegood call RG on the other personalities too. they always go in cycles. one says something really stupid, has to leave, and then a new personality takes over. a classic sign of MPD.
Can't take all the credit, I'm just lucky enough to have a friends group that spans a crap ton of different occupations.
ReplyDeleteThere's a part of me that feels really bad for the girl but then I think of the way it must make AK feel and I lose that sympathy real quick. I hope that the girl's friends/family figure it out soon and get her some help before she gets too far gone.
Have you never met a guy before JD? (/sarcasm)
ReplyDeleteSadly there are a lot of d-bags out there but given Enty's track record I have to wonder if it's a case of someone taking something out of the context it was actually said in. Like I can see him saying something like "She's my best friend" and Enty turning that into "He friend-zoned her".
So out of morbid curiosity I checked right before bed and sure enough they are posting again and in apologetic mode. I hope it's still there in the morning so I can have my friend take a look at it and see what she thinks.
ReplyDeleteThe way that blind is written is a little confusing. It sounds like it's a basic guy trying to pick someone up when they're already in a relationship, but the way it was written comes across like Enty's trying to say something else without saying it.
ReplyDeleteThis is for JD too. I've been doing some late night searching. I found some old posts from the guy from Mexico and I've been looking at more of the other stalker on twitter. I don't know if the person on twitter has severe mental illness like I thought. I look at the posts from the guy from Mexico, the early posts and even though it's insane I can still see how his brain was working. It was insane, but it followed a certain thought process. When I looked at more posts from him they got progressively more and more insane, no longer following that certain thought process. The best way to describe it is if I thought like a person with mental illness like him I could see how he would think some of the things he was going on about. The later posts aren't like that.
ReplyDeleteThe other stalker on twitter looks consistent. Everything they write that I've seen sticks to a certain thought process and never deviates from that. I just realized the best way to describe what I'm talking about. When you watch movies you have to suspend your belief. If you watch Superman you know that a person can't fly, but in the universe the film makers created a person that can fly makes sense. They stick to the rules of their universe. The guy from Mexico started out like that. Everything was crazy, but it made sense in the world he created in his mind. As time went on he stopped following his own rules in the universe he created. (I have no clue if you can follow what I'm trying to say, but I hope you get what I'm saying.)
After looking at all these things I had a thought to do a search on twitter for "annakendrick47 drunk" to see if anyone talked about drunk tweeting her. I thought the person stalking her would most likely have a personal twitter account since they appear to be well versed in how twitter works. Some of the first posts were from early Saturday morning. It was a girl that was apologizing for drunk tweeting Anna. I didn't go to deep into her account, but I'm curious what you guys think. It's @AlexCliffy92. You have to hit tweets and replies on her account to see the tweets to Anna. Her writing is different and I'm not sure if the timing works out. She did tweet "drunk me shouldn't be allowed on twitter" and I thought that could be about the tweets the stalker made to Anna. Wondering what you guys think about that. I have some thoughts about the stalker that I'll comment about tomorrow. I need my beauty rest! :)
Don't think it's the same. Syntax is different, and the level of obsession is different. That twitter hits up a number of different people, usually folks who are LGBT or known friends and doesn't have the singularity of focus the other account has.
ReplyDeleteOne other thing I would note from talking to my friend today is that I don't think that person has any access what so ever to AK. I most certainly do NOT want to minimize potential threat, because if anything recent events show that sort of thing can turn on a dime quickly. But I think I figured out how they seem to have information.
ReplyDeleteWeb crawlers.
Basically, it's a search aggregator that will use multiple search engines, and notification services (like a website that lets you get a notification when it changes) to find info on a subject.
The reasoning behind this is that earlier in our conversation JD (I think it was JD apology if it was Rory) mentioned that the "drunk text" seemed forced and faked. If you look at the last night post they incorporated that very concept into their "scolding" of the offending personality. So it seems clear they read this conversation.
Looking at a couple of their other tweet-sets where they talk about things AK is doing, I used a fairly simple crawler and an aggregator and was able to find articles, tweets from fans, instagram posts, etc that all line up with their "revelations". So basically, I think the girl has a crawler or an app that performs similar function set up and just slavishly reviews it for AK news. If you want a sample app that does this for celebrity pictures from media outlets, check out FirstLook
yep, taking things out of context is Enty's specialty.
ReplyDelete@Rory, I don't think the twitter person is consistent. one minute they try to act professional, the next they behave like a 13 year old girl engaging in stupid gossip. or maybe that's the consistent part of it? they're consistent at being inconsistent. this person constantly makes rules like saying they don't want to say certain things, and then they constantly end up breaking them. definitely not mentally stable at all.
ReplyDelete@RG, you're right in thinking the person has no access to AK. everything they find out is stuff found online. I've never read one single thing from them that made me think, how'd they know that? granted I've never read every single tweet, but I've seen enough. I know the tweeter reads this too because they've posted here in the past.
you nailed it with the web crawler stuff. which makes it even sadder, because they're not just spending time tweeting, they're spending a large part of their day just scanning social media sites and online articles for any mention of AK. that's scary. online stalking at it's very worst.
I think it is consistent. What they claim on that twitter is that there is a whole team of people protecting her. They have different people that tweet to her. One of those people is a big fan that's clearly younger, but the more professional one is an older guy. It's all on the same account, but the account is named after four people, so in their world there's more than one person that tweets. It wouldn't be consistent if they all talked exactly the same. Having someone that's professional and someone that's more of a fan that's not professional makes sense in the world they've created.
ReplyDeleteI also didn't read everything they've tweeted. What I've found on them is that they've had other accounts and they deleted all of the tweets they've sent Anna over a year. There's a good chance they're deleting things that all of us have missed. I read enough to come up with some ideas about the stalker that I posted 5 minutes ago. It's really sad that they're spending so much time on this, but I guess I spent a large part of my day reading their tweets and the guy from Mexico's bizarre theories, so I'm not one to talk. :)
I do think I'm going to try and avoid their tweets for now. I read enough of it to make me creeped out. I hope they get the help they clearly need. If they do visit this site, PLEASE GET HELP!
Hey Rory,
ReplyDeleteI think 5 and 6 are the strongest theories. The main issue with the "team" of stalkers is that they'd have to fit each other into their delusions which would be extremely hard and rare. Possible, but unlikely.
Something you said in #5 makes a lot of sense: they are likely in the NY area. The street knowledge aspect makes a ton of sense. It also makes sense because most stalkers have a trigger event...they meet the person and that's what kicks things off. And Anna is known for stopping and chatting with fans and taking pictures, especially when she's roaming around NYC. So this could be some young lady who met her on the street, got a picture and then her illness ramped up
#6 pains me. I tend to lean away from the "white hat" side of the spectrum at least in my own self-image (my friends tend to disagree with me) but I simply cannot understand how someone could be so vile and rancid as to intentionally cause this sort of pain. Especially over a movie part.
I do think that part of the current attention is an outgrowth of choices however. AK's profile is rising and has kept rising since Up in the Air. Her interviews are hilarious but her personal life opaque (by choice). So as she gets more and more parts (6 movies this year? crazy) and more and more attention, people want to know about her. But the wall around her personal life blocks that so the gossip sites grasp straws because supply and demand brings them clicks which brings them money. I don't think she should change her choice, I just think the gossip sites ramping up a bit is a natural consequence of the choice
A few years ago I would have agreed with you about #6. The longer I'm in the business, the more people I work around, the more I see people that have no morals whatsoever. They care about themselves, their own fame, their own success, and to hell with anyone that stands in their way. I worked with two of the worst. I can see them doing this. They did horrible things to people. They mentally tried to break a cast member, people like that do not give a damn about who they hurt. I want to say, "No, nobody would do this for a part," but it's no longer a crazy thought to me. I don't think it's just one part they're after. If they're up for the same role it stands to reason that they would be up for roles opposite Anna in other movies. This has been going on for a year (or more?) To do this for that long is trying to ruin a career, not only to get one part, but to get all the parts that they would have lost to Anna.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the gossip. They will jump on anything if they think it's going to sell magazines or get more clicks on their site. Their thinking is probably, "If she's not going to give us anything to work with we'll just make shit up!" I'm thinking it's gossip mongers wanting a juicy story and someone trying to hurt Anna by giving the gossip writers something to jump on.
Number five is a pretty strong contender. Think of all the shows she does in New York. Almost every single one of them have the celebrities going right past people on the street to get into the building. They could have been someone waiting for a picture with her, trying to get an autograph. It wouldn't even have to be a random encounter somewhere, it could have been waiting outside the Today show. I want to say she shouldn't let stalkers change her, but how can they not? I just hope it doesn't change her to the point where she's telling fans to get lost, acting like an asshole to them or people she works with. That would eventually hurt her career pretty bad.
I hope it only changes her to the extent that she's careful. We've had too many tragedies in the past couple of weeks already.
ReplyDeleteWhen you see her at PP3 suggest krav maga. My girl is only an inch or two taller then AK and she beats the snot out of the 6+ foot dudes in her class. The important thing is the classes also teach situational awareness, knowing a problem is there before it comes at you.
Anyway, crazypants is back at the tweeting trying to sound all professional now. Think I'll go report them to the twitter police
I still think it's #1. it's 100% not 2 or 3. the reason why I go more for 1 than 6 is, I don't know who would want to do that to Anna. not saying that stuff doesn't exist. but look at her films, Anna hasn't exactly been landing incredible roles lately. average stuff mostly. nothing special. why would anyone target her? Anna's mostly either doing indie films, where she gets paid next to nothing, or musicals. I suppose it could be someone she has competition with for these musicals, but again, she's not doing a lot of them. and Anna herself has even said she wants to break away from all that. it's not like she's Jennifer Lawrence or Scarlett Johansson who are getting all these juicy high profile roles.
ReplyDeleteI do think that sort of thing may exist, but I don't believe it's happening to Anna. why target her when there's far more popular actresses out there? I don't see Anna stealing roles from anybody. certainly not right now. she's not getting great material to work with these days. which is unfortunate and another topic altogether. it doesn't make sense. so I still go for the creepy solo fan with way too much time of their hands theory.
I'll encourage her to try krav maga. On top of learning self defense it could make her feel safer. Like she's got more control over her life, less afraid of what's around the corner. I hope she tries it out.
ReplyDeleteThe shooting of the girl from the Voice was a big part of me paying more attention to the stalkers. It's easy to brush it off as someone that's an idiot with too much free time, then that girl gets killed and it sinks in that there are very scary, very sick people out there. I reported the account when I first found out about it. I had my boyfriend and his brother do it too. There hasn't been a response from twitter and the account is still up.
I took a look at the account again. I was going to try and not look at it for awhile, just couldn't help it. I saw that they mentioned specific street names, which they haven't been doing lately. She's in New York and they suddenly have street names that their listing. I know the stalker could look it up on Google Maps, but they could with other cities too. Anna goes to New York and now they're listing street names. I'm now positive it's someone that lives in New York. I think it's a girl, or women, who knows how old.
The specific details show up when Anna's in New York, but not when she's in Los Angeles or any other city? No way. They could look up stuff on Google Maps and list some street names for other cities, but they talk about New York like someone that's really familiar with it. There's something about the way they write that screams fan girl to me. It doesn't read like things I've read from male stalkers of celebrities. It's hard to put into words. It reads more like a fan girl. I don't think it would be a 13 year old, maybe someone in their late teens or early 20's.
@JD - I'm leaning more towards number 5 now. Today for the first time in awhile they gave specific street names. Like I said to RG if they looked it up on Google Maps there's no reason they wouldn't or couldn't do that with other cities. Anna gets to New York and they list specific streets and talk about the city like someone that lives there or lived there long enough to know it very well.
ReplyDeleteI also see something in how they write that's more of what RG talked about where it's someone that had a random encounter with Anna, maybe on the street or outside a talk show. There's this quality that comes across as they've met her in person and that triggered them as RG said. I doubt they're following her everywhere, but when she's in New York they might be showing up at talk shows and anywhere else she can run into her.
On number 6 I can assure you, this kind of shit is happening. I worked with two awful people that did these types of things and they weren't even up for parts with the people they tormented. They did horrible things, tried to psychologically break someone because she was a little younger, prettier, liked more by the crew. You're looking at the movies Anna does and saying it's not high quality, but many times you don't know that going in. I've worked on movies like that where everything on paper says this is going to be a huge hit. You can even shoot the whole movie and everyone walks away thinking they made something special. Then the finished product comes out and it turns out you made a car wreck of a movie.
The actresses that are up for parts with Anna aren't necessarily big named actresses. You can have newcomers that are up for parts with her, people that don't have any success and need all the work they can get, even if it's on a horrible movie. They keep auditioning, they think they've got it, then the agent says it's going to Anna Kendrick. That happens a few times and now that person might start thinking, "If I get rid of her I'll get the parts." There's a lot of people in this business that have the mentality of a mean girl in Jr. High or High school. There's some of them that I truly feel like they could end up hurting someone if they get down to the final two and lose the part to another actress. It's a little scary to be around.
I was leaning towards number 6, but after some of the things from today I'm going with number 5. It's someone that's in New York, met Anna someplace and that triggered them into doing all this. They obviously have mental illness too. I hope that person gets help, but it's gone on for so long that I don't see them having anyone in their lives that cares or notices that this person needs help. They probably live alone, don't talk to the neighbors, and I think their family isn't in the city, or is but don't talk to the stalker often. I'm not exactly a detective or a FBI profiler! That's my gut on them.
I'm glad I started posting about these rumors and I'm glad others know what's going on. The more people that know the bigger chance this person will get caught.
Late teens early 20s makes the most sense if they have some schizophrenia tied up in there too...some of the writings have the delusional hallmarks. Dissociative and schizophrenia are often mistaken for each other because of the number of symptoms that overlap. But both tend to start to come out in the late teen years and early 20s.
ReplyDeletePretty horrid what you describe about the way some actresses treat people. Hopefully karma comes back around on them. Does word ever get around about that sort of behavior and bite them in the ass (producers not wanting them in a project)?
yeah it could be #5. #5 and #1 are essentially the same except 5 is that they live in NY, which I suppose is possible.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what twitter would do if we all kept reporting that account? you'd think they'd realize that it was targeted harassment and would have it taken down.
I'm game. Just report it a couple times a week and see if they do anything.
ReplyDeleteChanging gears slightly, just watched a couple of her interviews from today. She actually indirectly blasted Enty and some of the other sites about how Diplo and her joked about being "fake boyfriend and girlfriend" because of the rumors after she met him one time. And she doesn't seem too shaken by various events unless a constant stream of sex jokes and comments about doing dudes is how she copes. But based on her Twitter, they seem to be par for the course and she seems unphased.
I just saw that interview. it was quite funny. I don't think it was this site though that made up the Diplo rumors, I think it was another random gossip site. I don't even think CDAN wrote a blind about it. everyone knew those rumors were total bullshit. nice to hear Anna make fun of it though.
ReplyDeleteThe GMA interview is just as funny as that one. But man, she's got sex on the brain in these interviews. I was a bit surprised because while her Twitter can get a little racy here and there usually her interviews are much more "dorky Kendrick". But then I remembered what Rory said about PR putting actors on message and it makes sense that they'd say "Aubrey, Anna, go out there and give us your raunchiest. We'll take care of GMA if they don't like you talking about dildos and doing guys on the Bachelor"
ReplyDeletei noticed that too, but the reason why I don't put too much into it is because she's been like that for most of the M&D interviews. it's like her shtick for the press tour. I guess the studio wants them to all act like their characters and be over the top in their interviews. she definitely wasn't like this when promoting Mr. Right earlier this year, or more recently with Trolls and The Hollars. hopefully it's just a M&D thing and we'll have our regular, dorky Anna back soon after.
ReplyDeleteJ.F'n.C.
ReplyDeleteI think Rory was understating about how bad some of these celeb stalkers are. Read this crazy shit
http://jezebel.com/what-do-you-do-when-a-notorious-celebrity-stalker-start-1737619684
Man, that's some scary shit. I reported again today on the stalker's twitter account, hopefully it leads to something.
ReplyDeleteI'll just respond to your comments and JD's in this one comment to make it easier to follow. The comment RG made about schizophrenia really struck a chord with me. I didn't really think of that, I sort of thought that was what the guy from Mexico had based on some of his writings. I do remember hearing that schizophrenia starts in your late teens or early 20's. My guess is this is a young woman in her early 20's, lives in New York, has met Anna, maybe outside a talk show appearance, or maybe running into her on the street, and when Anna's in New York she follows Anna around some of the time. She might have gone on vacation to a place where Anna was shooting a movie or doing press, and she either has MPD or schizophrenia. Sound about right to you RG?
RG's comment about if these actors that do horrible things having it bite them in the ass, sometimes. What I see more times than not is they do all of these horrible things, but if they're making studios/networks money there's rarely consequences. If they go up against a bigger star that bigger star might say no to working with them, and same for a big director or producer. It's only after they have a big failure or a few unsuccessful movies in a row that they start to have some kind of karma. They get a little older, they're not getting the parts they used to and because they alienated so many people they don't have many friends.
There are some that never have karma hit them, but most of the time it does come back to bite them, it's just a decade later. Although from what I hear some of the younger people early in their careers are pushing too hard and might have karma hit them a little sooner than expected. The two that I've talked about have been having issues, with only a handful of people that want to put up with them. They keep getting work from the same people, but if they piss those people off they're screwed.
Switching gears to Anna's interviews. I haven't watched any of them yet. I heard some prudish people weren't happy with her on GMA. Like JD pointed out, she wasn't that dirty when she did press for other movies. What you're seeing is what I talked about with the studio's publicity team working with the actors publicist and coming up with a strategy to sell the movie. In the movie they play dirty, inappropriate characters, and the movie is a dirty R rated comedy. What do you do to sell the movie? One thing you can do is have the actors be inappropriate and be a raunchy in interviews. When she does press for the animated movie she's got coming up, she's not going to be talking like that in interviews. She might let something slip out, but if she was talking about dildos for this movie, she sure won't be talking about them for the family movie. She's smart enough to know when to push the limits and when to reign herself in.
I'm glad to hear that she went after the gossip sites! I'm sure her team has told her not to pay any attention to it, but eventually you've got to say something. I don't know if she talked about the rumors about PP3, but even if she's talking about dating rumors she's also putting it in people's heads that they shouldn't believe anything from the gossip sites (which would include the rumors about her feuding with Elizabeth and Rebel.)
I just did a long comment responding to your comments to. It's two below this comment (at the time I wrote this!)
ReplyDeleteNope, it's one above that comment! I have no idea how comments work on here anymore!
ReplyDeleteI think you're dead on with the stalker Rory. They may have even met Kendrick years before their illness really flared but a selfie or autograph, combined with the memory, combined with the illness could trigger it. The amount of work they put into the updates and adjusting based on comments like ours means they are still high functioning so they likely have a job or school. Down the road that will start to deteriorate.
ReplyDeleteShe was funny about the gossip sites because she mentioned that she never has gossip like that about her. Slightly not true because of the Alfie Allen and Jake Gyllenhall rumors but certainly nothing like what happened with Diplo. I am betting that one is what you're talking about with the other actresses. If I remember the timing right, it was the night of the AMAs and the restaurant was one that a bunch of celebs went to for afters. I bet the wrong person so her chatting with Diplo about hipster crap music (;P) and saw an opportunity to make it look like she was cheating on her bf while he was filming and doing it with a guy who has a poor rep when it comes to women.
I do have to ask, out of curiosity, which is the real sense of humor...the raunchy one we're seeing from these interviews, the more sarcastic side that's usually on Twitter or the a-dork-able we usually see in interviews?
I wonder what kind of work someone like the stalker could get. The time they've got to be putting into this has to make it hard to have a regular 9 to 5 job. I really hope someone gets them help before they deteriorate. It's scary to think what they're going to be like when they start to get worse.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea for her to talk about the gossip. Pointing out why the gossip was wrong gives people the sense that they shouldn't pay attention to any of it. I see people refuse to acknowledge any of it, even when it's insane gossip that could hurt their career, and every time they regret not saying anything.
Anna can get raunchy when she wants, but without a doubt she's sarcastic. Sometimes she can have a very dry sarcasm that not everyone gets. I've watched people interact with her that don't know her and Anna's joking using dry sarcasm, some of the people think she's being rude to them. Others just don't get it and think she's weird. It's interesting to see how many people don't get sarcasm at all. They might get obvious sarcasm, but when it gets dry or subtle they don't have a clue. The one thing I don't think people see from her in public is that she's got a very dark sense of humor. I don't remember ever seeing anything from her in the public that touched how dark she can get.
She can be goofy, but I'd say sarcasm and dark humor are her specialty. I'm the same way, so that's probably why we get along when we're working together.
@RG, Rory would know more than me obviously, but I think (just from general observations) that she's far more into sarcastic humor than being crude or raunchy. the cast of M&D got asked recently in an interview who had the dirtiest mouth and everyone looked at either Aubrey or Adam, no one mentioned Anna. I think she likes sarcasm, but never goes too far. I've seen interviews with her and Adam where he says something awful and she makes a face like she's about to vomit. so i think she, like most, has a line for things going too far. she loves to swear (a lot!) but I don't think she's hyper crude like someone like Howard Stern would be. she says some crazy things sometimes, but I've never really heard her say anything THAT bad. it was actually Aubrey that got them in trouble on GMA and had a part of their segment cut, and Anna had an expression of her face like, i can't believe Aubrey just said that!
ReplyDeleteyeah it was an AMA afterparty I believe that Anna was at with the cast of PP. but of course the idiot who started those rumors didn't see that Anna was there with her female castmates and thought she was only on a date with Diplo, which was ridiculous as she barely even knew the guy and probably just had a brief chat with him. the Alfie Allen one was someone simply mistaking Ben for him. they do look alike. and the Jake one came from someone mistaking behind the scenes pics of the two of them hanging out on the set of End of Watch and thinking they were out on a date, not realizing they were shooting on a movie set! so sad to see how such simple things can get taken out of hand and lead to false rumors. no one cares about getting facts right anymore. it's all about click bait and who can spread the most bullshit.
So putting this in a different thread since it's way off topic. I'm curious Rory how travel works for the bigger productions. I'm sure the actors/actresses get comped flights to wherever but do you folks in the crew? Or does it depend on how big a budget the movie has?
ReplyDeleteI just remember my friend (who does makeup) being psyched because the first couple of big budget films he did were within a 3 hour drive so he didn't have to fly himself anywhere. He was a staff makeup artists because he was just starting out. But later when he was credited and working on more then extras on a couple bigger projects they flew him to the location.
It does depend on the production. On lower budget movies they will usually hire local for the majority of the crew. Then they might bring in people with more experience for some of the top level crew jobs. Cinematography for instance. Technically they're supposed to pay for your travel, but they've got loop holes to get out of it. Big budget movies will usually pay for travel and some will pay for your hotel room. Some don't and there's been some pushing from the unions to correct that because it's insane to have actors that make 20 times what I make not have to pay for their rooms or travel, but someone making my kind of money has to pay for their hotel room for 3 months and pay for travel. Productions on low budget movies will rent out a house and shove a bunch of us in there to live together. Indie film making is definitely not glamorous!
ReplyDeleteThere were loopholes and a lot of those are getting fixed, so it's a lot better than it used to be. With low budget movies you're kind of doing it for the love of film, so most people are willing to not get paid very much and are willing to pay for travel just to work on the movie. It could be that it's with a cast, director, producers that you want to work with, or it's a style of movie you haven't done before. But the goal is hire local so you don't have to pay for travel or a room for the crew. Bigger budget ones are the movies you work on to get paid, but they're usually not the most fulfilling movies to work on.
I've had to do what your friend did. I was in New York City at the time and a movie was being filmed in Connecticut. It's a few hours to get there, but they gave the choice of either each of us paying for our own room to be closer to the production or we could travel there every morning ourselves. They quickly realized that they hired a bunch of people from New York City, and a lot of the crew didn't have drivers licenses because a lot of people don't that grew up in New York. They had to get some big vans and have the people that couldn't drive take those every day. But it hurt the budget because that's not only a van you have to rent, but you've got to pay for gas and the driver. To cut cost they got rid of the driver a couple days in and had those with licenses take over. So that worked out good because I didn't have to pay for gas or put all those miles on my car!
Huh, my friend did a lot of stuff down that way too because he went to film school in NY and it's driveable from up this way (Bostonish). It'd be funny if you knew him.
ReplyDeleteBut thanks for the insight and damn on studios screwing over the little guy.
It's definitely drivable. It's just that a lot of people that grew up in New York City don't have drivers licenses. The producers weren't from New York, so they didn't think about a bunch of adults not having drivers licenses. From Brooklyn to Hartford is a little over two hours depending on traffic, and this was early 2000's when gas was a bit more expensive too, so 30 days of back and forth with big vans was costing them a pretty penny.
ReplyDeleteI very well could know your friend if they worked in New York or around there in the early 2000's. There's a ton of productions, but I got to know a lot of great people in that time.
Simple way to find out:

You said "he" in another comment, so is your friends name Tristan?
ReplyDeleteNope. One of the clues has a double meaning so unlikely you know him or you would have picked up on it :)
ReplyDeleteWell now when I work on a movie I'm going to be looking for someone in the make up department that fits your clues! :)
ReplyDeleteJD, looks like you were dead on and the idea that it was a schtick is accurate. Her Corben stuff was back to normal last night
