This former A list celebrity/bad actress who still has A+ list name recognition probably hooks up with married guys when they are clients, but this is the first time I can remember her hooking up with a married guy publicly. They have been together a lot lately.
Pam Anderson
ReplyDeleteLiLo?
ReplyDeletePam Anderson?
ReplyDeleteMost likely Pammie Lindsay's "engaged"
ReplyDeleteI wanna say Kate Hudson.
ReplyDeleteBeing an actor is such an opportunistic profession, it doesn't surprise me that so many actresses are sluts.
ReplyDeleteLOL I read that as "nuts" first. Eh, potato, potahto.
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteAnd the males? What are they? Hohos? :-)
ReplyDeleteThe men are even worse than sluts.
ReplyDeleteHere's why it's not a double standard.
ReplyDeleteSince sex for women (especially beautiful women) is much easier to get than it is for a man, self-control regarding sex is socially respected for women and achievement of sex is socially respected for men.
The reasons for this fact about humans are 1) female hypergamy, which means that women are attracted to high status men and 2) risk of pregnancy and subsequent child rearing is more consequential for the woman and 3) achieving something relatively difficult is seen as more impressive than doing something that's easy.
It's a double standard b/c we live in a patriarchal society in which females are not equal to males.
ReplyDelete1. Sex for famous males is easier to get than famous females.
2. The only basis for abstinence from sex being "socially respectable" for females is because society is patriarchal. Women have been sexually objectified & vilified for thousands of years. Examples range from deities (Greek, Roman, etc) to the current political climate.
3. Neither I nor any females I know are attracted to men based upon their having a high social status. In many cases for us, it is the opposite. Though there are women for whom this is obviously a factor, this is moot as there are too many factors involved (including patriarchy & it's effects) to be a blanket statement.
4. Though there is more obvious consequence (including physical) that occurs for females in re pregnancy, this is not a basis for the validity of a double standard as to sexual prowess. The advent of birth control & the legalization of abortion in the last 50 years has made those consequences much less grave.
5. Though this is a true statement (something that's harder to achieve is more valued than what is not), it is a moot point because it is not more difficult for a famous man to have sex than a famous woman.
Females have substantially less earning power, wealth, social status, and sexual freedom than males. As long as we live in a society that places the attractiveness of a female ahead of any other qualities & one in which there is no level playing field, the Madonna/Whore viewpoint will likely continue.
