Blind Item #10
This celebrity is supposedly the girlfriend to this foreign born B+ list actor who is always ready to take off his shirt for a role. Apparently she is not taking her bearding duties too seriously because she hooked up with this acronym rapper.

ReplyDeleteThere's a difference between an acronym and an abbreviation.
ReplyDeleteIf you shorten a word, or a collection of words, removing some letters and grouping the rest together in order and end it with a period, resulting in a short form that can't be pronounced, that's an abbreviation: "etc." "abbr." "PTA." "NYPD."
If you take the first letters of all the words in a phrase, in order, and make them into a pronounceable word, that's an acronym: "Do I Look LIke I Give A F*ck" = "DILIGAF." Or, a couple of favorites of my mother's when she worked for the U.S. Finance Department, "Joint Uniform MIlitary Pay Service" = "JUMPS" which begat the "JUMPS Army Management Intensive Training," which actually had its name rearranged when someone realized they had created "JAMIT!"

ReplyDeleteMaybe you don't find him attractive b)c he's not. ;-)
ReplyDeleteBut the real question is whether Entry even knows the definition of an acronym...methinks not.
ReplyDeleteN.W.A. - seriously?
ReplyDeleteJesus, @Kno, you're as old as I am with that reference.
