Blind Items Revealed #2 - Kindness

April 27, 2016

This older but never looks old or acts old A list designer walked into a Starbucks in Palm Desert last week in the morning and told the staff she was paying for drinks and food for everyone all the way until closing. Every couple of hours she would bring in a new prepaid card for them to swipe.

Betsey Johnson

It's not like the garbage Starbuck's sells is 2 for $2 like Checkers or Rally's. She must have spent thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands! :D
I'd like Betsey to come to my bar

That's nice but I bet she was given many pre-paid cards and had no use for them

That's what I was thinking - or she'd have given them her credit card to swipe for the whole day. The part about coming in every couple of hours is odd if she paid for it, herself.

Years ago I had a friend in new York who absolutely adored her.

On the other hand, now I am sad because I just spilled my venti iced, sweetened bold all over the floor of my office and Betsey Johnson isn't here. Life isn't fair.

yeah---better ways to be charitable with ones money---not that anyone should dictate to others how to be kind etc with ones wealth

Or she just could have left all the cards there. Just seems weird - although I like her a LOT, the methodology just seems off.

  10. Why would she give them her actual credit card to hold onto for the entire day? And why is it such a bad thing if she gave donated cards to someone else? She still didn't spend them on herself. Damn y'all are too bitter sometimes.

Why not go to a Dollar Store where the poors shop (I do too). Starbucks is a luxury.

  13. I loved her too. My prom dress was a Betsey Johnson. It was the only part of my prom that I was excited about...even if it was from a clearance rack at her old shop in Boston

  14. I stopped actively looking for a Starbucks when I told my college aged relative that we needed to stop in the next Starbucks for coffee one afternoon. She said her mom and her go to 7-11 instead to save money. Well bc her dr dad left them with zero money after ditching them for a foreign country and a new life. Yeah, now I equate Starbucks with wastefulness that could go to a single parent household. From a dr's wife to a grocery store employee. True story and super fucked up.

nice, VERY nice gesture. no matter how or why she had them.
People do what they want with the money that they have.

  18. "Never looks old" is a bit much. She's great, but she looks old as dirt.

  19. I put myself through law school, work my ass off and yet still volunteer and make regular donations to various causes. I'll have my f*cking $6 latte if I want. It's truly not my problem if your relative didn't see to her marriage.

  21. Nice attitude Kate. Maybe that douchbag can come back, date you, get you pregnant then dump your ass along with a hefty mortgage and a child to raise. Way to support fellow women.

    Enjoy your $6 latte!
