Blind Item #9
This former A+ list athlete who had a lot of help from steroids beat the crap out of this former NFL quarterback turned 24 hour party guy. The QB made some comments about the daughter of the athlete that were not nice and down he went.
Johnny Football and Chump Hogan?

ReplyDeleteJose Conseco and his daughter Josie. No idea on the QB.

ReplyDeleteJohnny Football and Jose Canseco
ReplyDeletePics of Manziel in the DM (and everywhere I guess) are not good.
ReplyDelete+ whatever number we're up to
ReplyDeleteCanseco and Manziel is a real Molotov cocktail. Someone needs to beat the shit out of Johnny.
ReplyDeleteI think Johnny, like so many other football/hockey players is suffering from CTE. I don't think football is going to last another 20 years. The science is catching up with it. Too many suicides, domestic violence, drug abuse, due to CTE's.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Factor in the NCAA and the question over whether or not to play players, and title 9, and I suspect that college sports will end sometime in the next decade, and pro football will collapse under the weight of lawsuits sometime after that. I give it 30 years, but 20 wouldn't surprise me.
ReplyDeleteI nominate Oscar de la Hoya for that mission, @nance, for obvious reasons.
ReplyDeleteFootball isn't going anywhere. With all the advancements in technology and everything they can make better helmets and such to prevent head injuries. They already have a helmet to lessen concussions but players don't like wearing them because they aren't comfortable. Football is arguably the most profitable sport in America..currency will always speak louder than one's health whether we like it or not
ReplyDeleteSo far there is NO PROOF that any of these helmets or new tackling techniques even help. Fact is HEADS UP is based on a 100 year system.
ReplyDeleteWhat could take down the NFL is the talent drying up at the roots as High Schools and youth leagues start using players. HS programs may die out due to the injuries raising insurance costs and later local and state authorities demanding new equipment and standards. It will be easier for schools to just shut it down.
Could be CTE, but He is also suffering from another illness Affluenza. Kudos for Canseco knocking him on his ass.
