Blind Item #2
This A- list mostly television actor from a hit cable show had to be carried out of a Fleet Week party because he was so drunk. On the bright side, he didn't do anything destructive.

What the hell is a fleet week party?

ReplyDeleteO/T - Happy Memorial Day everyone, since this is slightly military related, AMC is showing a lot of war movies. Right now is the very "controversial" "Green Berets" with John Wayne. These war movies are a fascinating window into America's masculine ideals and beliefs at the time. Old Duke is trying to Pattonize the Vietnam War. You have to see this masterpiece of propaganda, then watch "Platoon" for the real Vietnam war story.
ReplyDeleteFleet Week is active duty recent battleships used in our wars dock in various American cities for one week.
ReplyDeleteThat's my normie! I really wish he'd get his drinking under control though. I wonder how many babes he went through sloppy drunk?
ReplyDeleteOne more thing, that candidate that says he "wants to make America great again", is definitely talking about this era, portrayed in the "Green Berets". He would have been 20 when the song that inspired the movie came out. The men are all alpha males, ultra masculine, and white men are fighting the war, they have to show the yellow man how it's done. No one is remotely gay. They treat the natives in a paternalistic way. It's a white man's world, the only woman so far is a housewife. The men were alpha men, there were no gays, there were no women outside the home, and America ruled and reigned.
ReplyDeleteOh THAT kind of fleet week! I thought you meant everyone got together and gave each other enemas for a week! Thanks for clearing that up for me.
ReplyDeleteThousands of them - plus Marines from the amphibious assault vehicles. Good times. (I hear)
ReplyDeleteIt was all an illusion sweetie. You don't want go back to the days of yore you just don't want to know the truth. Typical deluded sprite.
ReplyDeleteYeah Fleet Week is like the ultimate shore leave for navy and marine guys. It used to be much bigger with a couple dozen ships. Now it's only like 10 ships and it's a big honor to be chosen. The sailors are all over NYC. Must have seen a few hundred of them at the Mets game today.
ReplyDeleteAnd the alternative is a lying closeted lesbian who has repeatedly shown she has no moral compass.
ReplyDeleteAeol: Please forgive my lame attempt to be cute. Not the right venue, right? I know very well what Fleet Week is as I live in Manhattan. Glad they got out to see the only team worth watching, our Mets! You should have seen them this week in their dress whites with the gold cumberbunds. (Dont know how to spell that word). We do have the best looking fighting men and women in the world, bar none! As I watched them walking through Manhattan this week I wondered how many of these young men will lose their lives in the years to come defending people like you and me. They are forever in my prayers. God Bless America!
