A pro beard would need her own side or even regular gig. If all she did was be a beard, she could be tempted to blackmail the homosexual she was ostensibly working for. Look, "pro" beards don't do it for the money. They do it for the fame, which they then monetize. Could some closeted fellow find a willing c-list model, or even rando hot chick, to be his pretend GF? But what happens when she wants more money or she goes to the press. A working model/actress would never do this, because it would ruin their career also. But an unemployed, nothing else happening female would have no compunction about ruining a fellow unless he paid up. Further, if the beard has her own thing, it explains time apart, as well as giving the closet case opportunities to be in the public eye at her things. Further legitimizing the relationship.
