Blind Item #12 - Kindness

This permanent A+ list musician who rarely rarely sings but has had a lot of hits with people he brings in donates about 1,000 bottles of water each day to a homeless shelter and is out at the same shelter several times a week serving meals.

If it said "foreign born" I would think Barry Gibb since his catalogue of hits for other artist is massive and since his brother's died he hardly sings. I can't think of anyone else.

Carlos Santana is a good guess -he rarely sings. I dont think he has had a hit in a while with his colabs though..but everything else fits

He's very generous and giving per a friend who once worked for him.

My impression of Carlos Santana has always been that he was a stand-up guy, so I like this guess a lot.

A quibble: why not just buy the shelter a water cooler that will be refilled every week? The thought of all those plastic bottles makes me ill.

Santana has The Milagro Foundation, which puts millions back into communities. Sure this is him.

Get over it, kid. A lot of homeless people are crazy and off their meds. A sealed bottle of water is something they might actually drink (they can also take it with them when they wander). A water-cooler isn't a good option for that population.

Maybe if you ask the Enterns nicely they will change their policy on that.

Santana's album Supernatural was all duets with other current at the time musicians

Well, that would mean one of them would have to actually DO something nice once a week and not be bragging about it to all the media.

A+++++ Sandy. I'd love a day of Kindness blinds. No Kartrashians, Housewives or Druggie Teen Moms. Nothing but kindness Blinds/Reveals.

And yes, this is Carlos Santana. I've met him and not only is he one of my FAVORITE guitar heroes, he's one the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. (As are Brian May and Joe Walsh. All 3 are BEYOND nice. I've been very lucky to have been in the right place & time a handful of times).

  26. Well I consider myself an environmentalist, but the reality is the majority of those bottles are probably being given out to people with immediate need who are then carrying them out into the streets. As practical as it may be, a reusable water bottle isn't necessarily high on a homeless person's must have list.

  27. I love the Carlos Santana guess (and him), but I've decided to lose my mind and guess Pitbull! He does a ton of charitable work down in south Florida. I heard an interview with him on Sirius once that completely changed my opinion of him.

  28. I was in the right place at the right time as well and have met Brian May. He is a very nice man.

Late 80s/early 90s I worked a couple of summers at an amphitheater & that's where I met Carlos Santana & Joe Walsh. THAT was a fun job, getting paid to watch concerts all summer. Brian May was just a lucky one, met him on the street. We came out of the train station, walked up the street & there he was. Crazy, huh?
