Today's Blind Items- A List Mobster
This actor is foreign born. He has made his living as Mr. Nice Guy. Even though he is foreign born, he somehow manages to convey an aww shucks kind of personality. Even though he has been the star of some potentially violent movies, he has always crusaded against excessive violence in movies generally and his movies specifically. Considering he is an action star, that seems odd. He has always managed to try and keep his action family friendly. His whole spiel is a family values, family friendly thing. Because of where he is from and his reticence to speak about his private life, he has not been called out on lots of his transgressions. There was the constant cheating on his wife despite his claims of faithfulness. Most troubling though is his leadership of a gang. An actual gang. Our former A+ list actor heads a very large cartel which sells drugs and hookers. He is a known human trafficker and according to several reporters who have investigated him, has ordered the killings of at least a dozen rivals and many more people caught up in his crimes. Any reporter who has dug too hard or come too close has been thrown in jail or in one case, killed. The good news is that some of this is now being reported outside his closed world and hopefully he will be arrested and thrown into jail.
Van Damme?
ReplyDeleteJackie Chan
ReplyDeleteJet Li?
ReplyDeleteArnie?
ReplyDeletemICHELLE wILLIAMS
ReplyDeleteWhat was the name of his movie again?
ReplyDeleteSteven Seigal
ReplyDeleteBorn in Michigan =\
ReplyDeletebest guess probably him.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the "closed world" comment in the blind is about China since they're so known for controlling the press there. Countries in the Middle East do too but I can't think of a major action star from that region.
ReplyDeleteJacky Chan seems pretty plausible and China is well know for its mafia and nasty shit.
ReplyDeleteJackie is Hong Kong, more open than China but still restrictive and very shady.
ReplyDeleteJackie Chan.
ReplyDeleteAccording to DM, he's mentioned in the Panama Papers for hiding assets in offshore accounts.
ReplyDeleteMr. Nice Guy. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3522577/Celebrities-including-Hollywood-star-Jackie-Chan-Barcelona-footballer-Lionel-Messi-used-Panama-law-firm-invest-millions.html
ReplyDeleteRemember the blind about last year about jet li, that he supposeubly builds resorts in China and laundes drug money that way?
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a different guy but who knows...
This one scary-ass blind! Jackie Chan does incredible work in the Chinese community in San Francisco for the elderly. They adore him. Please don't let it be Jackie!
ReplyDeleteThank you for correcting me. I didn't know he was out of Hong Kong. I always thought China for some reason! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read a ton about the Panama Papers. Are there a ton of other celebrities listed in them?
ReplyDeleteTakeshi "Beat" Kitano ?
ReplyDeleteThank fuck for Donnie Yen's "I'll cut a bitch" personality.
But yeeeeaaaahh unfortunately I wouldn't be shocked it's Jackie Chan.
ReplyDelete@rory - Someone linked the DM story below. There aren't a lot of Americans mentioned so far and not many celebs - Mostly foreign athletes. Iceland is having huge protests because the president was listed.
ReplyDeleteOops I mean Iceland's PM.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteGiven that he made a movie called Mr. Nice Guy...I'd hate for it to be Jackie
ReplyDeleteHis action movies don't have guns. This makes a lot of sense.
ReplyDeleteJackie Chan made it big in HK before HK was repatriated into China from the UK. Now the Chinese government has a say in the HK entertainment industry. There was a scandal a while back when Jackie's son was caught smoking pot; Jackie was forced by the government to publicly apologize to basically the world.
ReplyDeleteJackie Chan is/was all sorts of shady. He definitely worked his casting couch clout to screw many of the young starlets that wanted to make it in the Chinese film industry. Not that I had a chance/talent of doing so back in the day, but my mom told me that if I was an aspiring actress it would be a cold day in hell before she'd let me work with him.
It will be interesting to see how the government of China reacts to the fact he, one of their shining stars, has been hiding assets from them. China has been cracking down hard on both foreigners and locals to prevent money from moving out of the country illegitimately.
Everyone gave up aft the Jackie Chan guess! I thought South American when cartel was mentioned.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely. He always comes across as a very sweet person in movies and interviews. I bet he will beat the breaks off of a rival, lol
