Oddly worded post. I imagine very few publicly announce that they're drug addicted except at Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Besides, they have you.
ReplyDeleteI think it means that having a drug problem is considered "rock and roll," and might even foster an image that the band is still "real" rock and roll, so why hide it...
ReplyDeleteAlso, ticket sales. Who TF goes to see def Leppard anymore?
ReplyDeleteHello? It's Me, 1986.
And a month later they've announced an extended summer tour. Starts May 1st.
ReplyDelete^^^^I wish it was 1986 still. lol
I thought Viv had a serious medical problem.
ReplyDeleteLong time Def Leppard fan here.....I would go see them still.
ReplyDeleteViv had cancer, last I heard he was still be treated for it.
Phil is a health nut so it's not him.
I know Rick (the one armed drummer) is an alcoholic (or was) who's been arrested for domestic violence before. So maybe him.
Joe and Sav have never had the reputation for doing drugs, so I'm not sure who in the band is doing so many drugs that tours need to be canceled.
Saw Def Leppard last fall. The venue holds 20,000 and was jam-packed. So, in answer to your question, most everybody.
ReplyDeleteA 'legacy' band that can still fill decent sized venues with wealthy older fans. Not hurting for money.
