Blind Items Revealed #2
December 19, 2014
This foreign born former A+ list mostly movie actor from way back in the day always seems like a loving family man. He is, except when he finds himself spotted by women young enough to be his granddaughter who don’t mind his fake teeth and cigarette breath as he tries to get them drunk on gin and then performs badly in a hotel room he gets them for the night after he stays 20 minutes.
Roger Moore
Well, hey - I can pretend to like just about anything for 20 minutes. How much are we talkin'?
ReplyDeleteWas going through some James Bond movie listings, adding them to my watch list and realized that I never bought him as 007. I didn't dislike him as much as I disliked Timothy Dalton, but close. I liked Roger as The Saint, though.
Actually "performs badly" would be pretty good considering that he is 88 years old and a prostate cancer survivor.

ReplyDeleteTalk about never having a career after Bond. At least the other ones worked outside of their franchise or after it was over.
ReplyDelete..& let's not forget Roger's award worthy performance in "BoatTrip".
ReplyDeleteFor real.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think you could "perform badly" if you took Viagra!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he is way out of shape, too!
What a shocker -- he performs badly in bed AND on screen!
ReplyDelete@Kno Agreed. Never bought him as Bond. He didn't have the gravitas. Much better as The Saint.
ReplyDelete@June Badaboom!
ReplyDeleteDidn't it come out that he's gay, or at least bi? Maybe I'm remembering that wrong.
ReplyDeleteIan Fleming said that Moore was much closer to his idea of Bond than Connery had ever been. I always preferred Connery, as did most people, but Moore was okay.
Maybe the embarrassing hook-ups with young ladies are force of habit, or to keep up his reputation as a "ladies man" or whatever.
Family man? Is this a clue about the Thailand blind?
ReplyDeleteBest Bond ever! he had charm to burn...
