Blind Item #2
This could be the worst idea ever, or work out really well. Apparently the talk being bandied about for this weekend is that the Best Picture Academy Award is going to be presented by a trio of legendary women who have each won an Oscar. I think it is a long shot. I'm not sure you could even sober up one of them long enough for her to be a part.
The First Wives club?
ReplyDeleteOk- this is different!
ReplyDeleteFaye Dunaway, Liza Minelli(the drunk) and Shirley MacLaine?
Jane Fonda, Babs and ???
ReplyDeleteGoldie
ReplyDeleteDianne
and Bette
Goldie being the drunk
seeing Tricia's s guess I'd put MacLaine in the ??? part
ReplyDeleteI like Fonda in there....
ReplyDeleteLiza Minelli (the drunk), Meryl Streep & somebody
ReplyDeleteBette never won an Oscar
ReplyDeleteI think Faye Dunnaway is sick and no longer making appearances. Anyone else hear that?
ReplyDeleteMeryl Streep, Julie Christie and Liza Minelli?
ReplyDeleteIt's been suggested here I think@Jooles. Hope not. Would be great to see her well, and onstage again.
ReplyDeleteMarisa Tomei
ReplyDeleteThat would suggest that the winning film is directed by a woman or about women otherwise I don't see the correlation between having them present the award.
ReplyDeleteJane Fonda - so hot right now!
ReplyDeleteFaye Dunaway just had something done to her face, I think - this might be why.
Others that have attained legendary status that everyone named: MacLaine, Minnelli, Streep
But legendary means something different to me than to Enty.
Hey, one of them might be a POC!...oh wait...no.
ReplyDeleteI don't think many Oscar WINNING women of color have achieved legendary status and are still alive.
We have Whoopi Goldberg, Jennifer Hudson, Mo'Nique, Octavia Spencer, Lupita Nyong'o & Halle Berry. IDK about legendary.
Faye Dunaway looked horrible in the recent picture of her shopping. She looked like an old lady who had facial plastic surgery.
ReplyDelete(The key is she still looks like an old lady.)
(When are actresses going to learn: you can stop aging?)
I've heard she's seriously ill right now.
ReplyDeleteLegendary would mean Babs and Liza (for the drunk) I am leaning towards Shirley unless they drag out Rita Moreno as the one POC to join them
ReplyDeleteNot being sober doesn't necessarily mean impairment from booze - could be drugs; I'll throw Whoopie in as the stoner.
ReplyDelete..and I'll throw in Halle Berry & Lupita. Which would be a disaster if it is seen as pandering.
ReplyDeleteSince this is for the Best Picture award, I’m thinking a legendary actress that won an Oscar for Best Actress/Supporting Actress the same year their movie won for best picture? So, that gives us – Eva Marie Saint, Rita Moreno, Louise Fletcher, Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep, Shirley MacLaine, Jodie Foster, Juliette Binoche, Gwyneth Paltrow, Dame Judi Dench, Jennifer Connelly, CZJ, Hillary Swank, and Lupita Nyong’o. Legendary status of these? Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep, Shirley MacLaine & Judi Dench? With my vote being Diane Keaton as the drunk – though I bet Dame Judi can throw back a few.
ReplyDeleteOscar, yes. Legendary, no.
ReplyDeleteI saw a recent photo of her. She looks terribly ill and like she's undergoing cancer treatments. Barely recognizable.
ReplyDeleteHow about EGOT winners? Liza, Whoopie, Rita...
ReplyDeleteI'd exclude Liza from consideration. Given her health problems she has had to cancel a lot of engagements. I doubt the Academy would take that much risk at a major event.
ReplyDeleteBetting Liza is the drunk. Can't see Babs doing this. Maybe MacClaine & Moreno?
ReplyDeleteLiza, Barbra and Cher. I don't know that there are three bigger "legends" living that have Oscars.
ReplyDeleteStreep, Sarandon, Keaton. Sarandon as the drunk.
ReplyDeleteGood guess! I would love to see these 3 present an award!
ReplyDeleteCould be any combo of Shirley, Jane, Bette, Liza, Diane,Lily, Babs, Sally, etc., right?
ReplyDeleteAnd obviously THIS didn't happen, as Morgan Freeman presented it!
