Today's Blind Items - Drug Replacement
For the past decade this actress has been working her way up the list. As a teen she landed a couple of big projects but when they ended it would take her a year or two to get back in the game. That year or two would mean when she got her next chance, it would be at the same level as her previous role. She was always the sequel lead. The first movie would be a hit and when no one would sign up for the sequel, she would be brought in for the low budget reboot. Our actress has struggled with drugs her entire career. From that first mid-teen role she was the first in line at parties and has had several nose reconstructions because of coke damage. A few years ago everyone thought her career was completely dead. She had barely made it through filming of a movie that required no talent. I mean you could do anything in this thing and no one would care. It was part of the appeal of the movie. Even with that, her drug use and her sleeping with a couple of married men on the production really put a halt to any good projects. Basically she was reduced to guest roles on crap shows or a couple of lines in a television movie. Fast forward a couple of years and she went through rehab and apologized to the producers of that movie that had caused her downfall. It was sincere and the producers brought her back for a sequel. With that green light, she began getting calls and then landed what was the break of a lifetime. This was going to bring her all the way to A list. Television, but still A list. Multiple chances for spinoffs and movies and just a big career. I don't know if the pressure of the role or the huge publicity surrounding the show caused her relapse, but relapse she has. She managed to film the pilot, but since then has been a drug addled mess. Her last few red carpet appearances have been awful. The producers of the show and the network have already delayed the show once and now are being forced to decide whether they can trust our actress to get back on her feet. There is a replacement on standby. That replacement was a long shot before, but with our actress refusing to go to rehab and getting worse every day, she is about to be replaced and there will be no coming back for any kind of career if it happens.
idk Ashley Greene mebbe?
ReplyDelete.Heather Graham maybe?
ReplyDeletebrittany snow
ReplyDeletesounds like a good one.
ReplyDeleteshes doing a movie though in Brooklyn with Bautista from wrestling :(
ReplyDeleteMena Suvari maybe
ReplyDeleteSeries is "south of Hell"/ films as teen American Beauty,American Pie franchise (required not much etc)
ReplyDeleteI don't know, she didn't seem too messed up during the "Pitch Perfect" movies. Plus, isn't she supposed to be a major drug dealer in Hollywood? I think there was a blind revealed here about that.
ReplyDeleteThora Birch--doing a tv show called Colony :D
ReplyDeleteAha....the American Beauty connection-could be- only thing is- she started/emerged real young ....more of a child actor turned teen actor....but who knows?!
ReplyDeleteShe did a lot til 2006 including Dungeons and Dragons and Ghost World--very little since then.
ReplyDeleteMegan Fox
ReplyDeletethis seems like an easy one but nothing fits
ReplyDeleteMegan Fox, Transformers almost ruined her career, she apologized to the producers and they recast her in a sequel. No talent movie could be Jennifer's Body? She is supposed to replace Zooey in the New Girl while Zooey is on maternity leave, however this information is not on listed on her television credits on wikipedia yet. She started acting in her mid teens. I don't know if she ever went to rehab...
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough one. What new show has been delayed?
ReplyDeleteApparently she has been open about using drugs in the past, and we all know she has had some plastic surgery...
ReplyDeleteOooo I second this. She has looked like a total disaster in recent photos, and was in a TV movie called Pregnancy Pact...
ReplyDeleteHayden Panettiere
ReplyDeleteShe was a child actor
ReplyDeleteMena Suvari
ReplyDeleteI think it's Rosario Dawson
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame if Thora B. Ghost World was great. Mad love for Steve Buscemi tho.
ReplyDeleteMs. Piggy
ReplyDeleteRachel Blanchard
ReplyDeleteCarrie 2

Then she landed a role on Fargo-The TV series
and now has a new TV show in production called-You Me Her
The movie which required no talent---Daydream Nation with Kat Dennings and Josh Lucas---I saw it and trust me it was a dumb stoner teen movie...
ReplyDeleteRB started acting in TV at age 7.
ReplyDeleteNot Mena Suvari: she broke out with American Pie and then had multiple roles every year for a long time - doesn't fit the "take a few years to get another role" bit.
ReplyDeleteNot Thora Birch: no sequels.
I'm interested in figuring this one out. The show has to be a big deal - network or otherwise high profile. A-list television, it said. And it hasn't premiered yet. This fall, probably.
I'm gonna get this one.
I don't think it's Rachel Blanchard - she's had multiple roles every year since she was 8 years old, and she's been in more than just the pilot of the new show. There's no gap in her career.
ReplyDeletethe blind states she LANDED A COUPLE OF BIG ROLES in her teens
ReplyDeletenot started her career in her teens
she landed Are you Afraid of the Dark and Clueless in HER TEENS
It doesn't say anything about gap in career it says she was reduced to guest roles and crap shows and small roles in made for tv movies
ReplyDeletewhich WAS her career a FEW years ago (as the blind states) between 2010-2014
"As a teen she landed a couple of big projects but when they ended it would take her a year or two to get back in the game."
ReplyDelete*Rachel Blanchard started before she was a teen.
*Between 13 and 19 she worked steadily, including having major roles in three separate TV series.
*Between the ages of 20 and 23, she was the lead on the TV version of Clueless.
*She wasn't the lead in Carrie 2, which came at the end of her run on Clueless.
*She then went on to major roles in two studio releases (Road Trip and Sugar and Spice) and then spent two years in a significant (40+ episodes) role on 7th Heaven, etc etc etc. She's 28 before she sees ANY slowdown in her career... which is not shocking for a child star.
*And the blind item specifically notes that the actress in question has filmed the pilot of the show, but there's a backup in the wings in case they think she can't carry it... whereas Blanchard had filmed ten episodes of her show.
In short, she doesn't fit even a little bit.
Thora Birch sounds good, she was in Now and Then when she was a teen, thats a pretty big movie even today still.
ReplyDeleteAnd I googled her and the first thing that popped up was "Thora Birch: How Hollywood's Darling disappeared".....sounds like her.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but Birch doesn't have the sequels-thing, and the big reason she wound up on the outs with Hollywood is the weird thing with her dad. Although her series seems like it might have spin-off potential, I guess... but hardly "A-list" television. It's on USA, fer chrissakes.
ReplyDelete+1-- plus Thora is only in 2 episodes of new show "Colony"--she's not a regular or one of the leads as the Blind implies..and they've already been shot.
ReplyDelete@back again: Ooooh, good catch.
ReplyDeleteSo let's look at the really crucial clues:
ReplyDelete*Had some good roles as a teen.
*Had some gaps in her resume after that - a project then a year or two off, a project and a year or two off, etc.
*Then in a movie that required no talent, and caused a lot of trouble on set.
*A real lull for a few years as a result of fallout from that movie.
*Back for a sequel (to the movie above?).
*Now poised for "A-list television" with "spin off/movie potential."
*Implied to have only filmed the pilot for the show, which means it's probably one of the shows that'll be debuting in Fall 2016.
Damn! This one is hard!
my 1st thought for the new series is "Marvel's Most Wanted" on ABC (spinoff potential) but I only see Adrienne Palicki cast..
ReplyDelete@back again: See, that was my thought, too, but Palicki doesn't fit the clues at all. I just spent like thirty minutes looking at the pilots on order for the fall, and I can't see anything that works. Maybe it's for summer, or mid-season...
ReplyDeleteSecond Rachel Blanchard
ReplyDeleteMovie where she could do whatever was Snakes on a Plane
darn, this is a good one & i gotta go now for a bit.
ReplyDelete-good luck @ DoctorMaybe, you're kickin' arse on this one!! hopefully I'll be back & can check out your progress or add a wrong guess!
I just wanna add I've never even heard of Rachel Blanchard & yet, she's got a helluva resume-where the hell was I?
ReplyDeleteHer before & after pics are wild...it's like looking @ 2 completely different people.
ReplyDeleteMegan Fox insulted Michael bay for the transformers movie, after she apologized bay then hired her for teenage mutant ninjas turtles reboot and the sequel. I dont think the sequel is the same movie as the first one enty mentioned. She also Fox called her appearance in Jonah hex a cameo, and she cameod in the dictator
ReplyDeleteThe most important clue here is the sequels.

ReplyDeleteIt's super-late but I'm going to throw out Briana Evigan here. Step-up and sequels.
ReplyDeleteCan't make the TV thing work though.
Nope. Wrong again.
ReplyDeleteCan't be Megan Fox she never really done any T.V.
ReplyDeleteAnna Faris ...
ReplyDeleteI thought Thora Birch's problem was her creepy psycho Dad.
ReplyDeleteI think the big clue here is a TV show that will bring someone straight to A-list, with lots of opportunities for spin-offs. What new show has a lot of hype?
ReplyDeleteRachel Keller (Fargo), cast in new X-men TV series "Legion" for FX. Filming now. Only pilot is being filmed, which would give them an out to recast her role.
ReplyDelete"Back in the Game" (a song from HSM) plus references to sequels tells me this is one of the High School Musical girls. Either Ashley Tisdale or Vanessa Hudgens.
ReplyDeleteBut, I've been wrong before
Looks like she doesn't fit most of the clues, either. Hasn't got the extensive resume Enty describes. Is too young. The only thing that fits is that "Legion" might be a career making role with all the X Men fans.
ReplyDeleteWonder if Rachel replaced the "mystery" actress, since Rachel's casting was announced right before filming started.
Fox is developing another XMen TV show called Hellfire. The female lead was played by January Jones in the movie. Hellfire has been delayed.
There are so many clues, but I feel like you do, Zilla!
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna say it's Ashley Tisdale. She has made one or two recent pilots and it's known that she has had at least one nose job. I think her filmography fits this one.
ReplyDeleteShe has done TV. She was on hope and faith for 2 years and has done other television projects.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.judiciaryreport.com/megan_fox_caught_with_cocaine_in_her_nose.htm
ReplyDeleteNatasha Lyonne
ReplyDeleteAgree with Ashley T
ReplyDeleteBlind doesn't fit Megan Fox. What hurt her with Transformers, was her unprofessional attitude towards the director and the movie, not substance abuse. The director didn't hold a grudge, he brought her back for Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles, which was a huge big-budget film. She was brought back again for TMNT 2, which is currently in post-production, and should be released later this year.
ReplyDeleteMore important, she's done eight movies since her last appearance in "Transformers" including TMNT and Jonah Hex. The only year in which she didn't put out at least one film was 2013, and that's when she was pregnant with her second kid.
Not only has Fox not been a regular on any television program since 2006, she's really only done a few individual TV parts since then (she was on "robot chicken" twice, and as pure voice work, I don't even think that counts).
ReplyDeleteShe was the lead in TMNT, filmed in 2013, and she'd the lead again in the 2015 sequel (currently in post-production). This just doesn't fit with the blind.
Last time Fox was cast as a regular on any TV program was 2006.
ReplyDeleteShe did zero TV between her breakout in Transformers in 2007 through 2011. In 2011-12 she was on two episodes of "Robot chicken" (animated program, pure voice acting) and one in "Wedding Band" (where her husband was a regular). That's barely any real TV work, and since 2012, zero TV work again. So far as I know she hasn't been cast as a regular in any TV program since 2006, including now.
Fox has only been in two sequels (Transformers, and TMNT). She played the same exact role, with the same exact cast in Transformers 2, which was a big hit. Part about cast not wanting to show up for sequel there doesn't fit. In TMNT she reprises her role as lead; again, doesn't fit.
I thought she was into the ladies? She seems to be working and pretty together.
ReplyDelete@zilla1 good guess. +1
ReplyDeleteI was thinking and Arielle Kebbel was in like 3 sequels.
ReplyDeleteYou know, the actual name of the song is "Get'cha Head In The Game." That kind of blows my theory out of the water, lol.
ReplyDeleteIt's Megan Fox and it does fit.
ReplyDeleteAdrianne Palicki
ReplyDeleteShe was in sequels to several movies and looked terrible guest starring on about a boy. Now on Marvel Agents of Shield and filmed a pilot spin off of that based on her character. Several photos of her over the year with a different looking nose...
ReplyDeleteYep. He's right again.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right. So sadly it fits. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natasha_Lyonne
ReplyDeleteI was kind of hoping I was wrong. Seems maybe true though..darn.
ReplyDeleteYeah, this sounds like it should be easy but isnt...
ReplyDeletei do think it can be narrowed to:
Briana Evigan - started out as a young dancer and had a few tv credits before landing lead in Step Up 2 - was in sequels or remakes - Sorority Row, S Darko, Mothers Day, Step Up 4 and has been announced as being recurring on From Dusk Til dawn - cant really see how that would get her to A List though.
Arielle Kebbel - started out as teen on Gilmore Girls, loads of TV appearances (vampire diaries), sequels or remakes (American Pie spin offs, Grudge 2, The Uninvited), film that didnt really require acting - American Pie: band camp - and also her face is so different to how it was when she first started out - really puffy. When i saw her on vampire diaries i said "what the hell happenned to her?!" cant see what TV role would make her a list though...
Adrianne Palicki - got her break on the CW network in various roles before going on to Friday Night Lights - not may film roles that have been sequels or remakes except for GI Joe: Retaliation/Red Dawn - wouldnt say she is the go to girl for sequels and not a lot of film credits on her CV BUT the spin off potential for her new role in SHIELD would def make her a list if it works out (unlike wonder woman pilot!)
other than that havent a clue!
Think I may have it guys...Mary Elizabeth Winstead:
ReplyDeleteIn September 2015, Winstead continues the TV route in CBS' political horror comedy BrainDead, as leading character Laurel. The series, set in Washington, D.C., is planned to air in summer 2016 with 13 episodes
Starred in The Ring 2, Final Destination 3, remakes of Black Christmas and The Thing - got her acting break around 2005 but was cast in mid to late teens on Passions. Not really sure which film she might have went a bit mental on, unless it was Death Proof or Scott Pilgrim and she has worked fairly steadily in small films and tv roles here and there....
