Blind Items Revealed #3

December 19, 2015

Considering the name of the show, you would think most of the people working on this network show struggling to survive would be happy to be working there. Not the case. Everyone is miserable and doesn’t care about the history of the show, at this point, they are just in it for the paycheck.

The Muppets

WHAT? Never in a million years would the Muppets have come to mind. This makes me very sad.

And it shows in the quality of the program. The original had so much heart.

    Not surprising. They're Disney now.

I worked with the Jim Henson Company back in the 1990s (as a vendor--not an employee), and it was totally different then. I was sad to see the family sell out to Mickey Mouse, but for as much money as they got, I can't say I blame them.

Dr Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker have been leaking their unhappiness with the production values for some time now. Miss Piggy and Fozzy Bear have been pictured in Miami in the "shhhhhh" pose for Bani.

No one guessed The Muppets when this was first posted.

Was Kermit's cover of "It Ain't Easy Being Green" an early cry for help?

Gonzo just checked into Passages Malibu. Scooter is working overtime keeping it all hushed up.

This just in from the desk of Sam the Eagle: Over 55 chickens have come forward with allegations of sexual assault by Gonzo. Gloria Allred is representing the victims. Reps for Gonzo have asked for his privacy to be respected while he undergoes treatment for sex addiction.

Blind Item #15 Which green amphibious movie and t.v. triple-threat who is not the nice guy that he seems recently paid a very large sum to a Central American pimp as compensation for "lost income"? It seems he got a little overly aggressive with a transgender "performer" while shooting on location down there.

Perhaps it would have done better if they had brought the show back with its original charm instead of adding an inappropriate adult edge to the plots and dialogue.

Yes, the Muppets have always had random bits of sophisticated humor that only adults would get, but it was along the lines of droll, not "M for Mature".

Dr. Teeth, beloved band leader from The Electric Mayhem, was found dead in his hotel room today. Toxicology reports are still out but it is rumored that a syringe with a substance believed to be Act was found hanging from his arm. Lead guitarist and longtime girlfriend Janice tweeted the following:
"Like, what a bummer. He was my man, ya know? Like, sure he used to slap me around sometimes, but only, like, when he was drunk. It was my own fault a lot of the time, ya know?"

Ha, very funny thread. Not true of the Muppets crew. Would you want to go back to working with human actors after working with the warmest, funniest, most creative people in television?

  29. Well, don't knock smurf porn. My grandma said you should try a little bit of everything -at least once.
I think she was referring to vegetables but it probably applies to this too :D

This may have been true when the show started filming - the show was rushed into production at the 11th hour before the show could fully establish its tone and format and everyone was really under the wire to get shows completed on time (often cutting it very close) and the clash between the two co-creators/showrunners led to the tension. Bob Kushell has been replaced with Kristin Newman and while there still is the pressure to get shows finished on time (the hiatus allowed them to get caught up somewhat but because of the technological challenges, it still takes a while to complete each episode) the tone on set is much lighter especially now without the feud between Prady/Kushell casting a pall over everything. It's a lot of hard work making a show of this nature but the veteran members of the Muppet company are huge pros and are experts at keeping things on set lighthearted. There is a general wish that Bill Prady would devote more time to the show that was really his "baby" and needs his focus and guidance as opposed to Big Bang Theory which barely needs him there so much at all by now.
