Blind Item #4
Last year, with the help of a publicist and a great marriage story, this foreign born A list mostly movie actor had a great award season. Another year and a new angle. Hey, make the wife pregnant and have another great award season. No one has seen through the game yet, so why not keep going with it.
Cumbrbatch

ReplyDeleteif he wins another award just for playing trans I will throw a brick at my tv..his face is so ....punch-able.
Eddie Redwayne but his role was Oscar baity and it is Dicaprio's year
ReplyDeleteI find it horrible that actors/actresses listen to the PR people when it comes to having babies, getting married, pretending you are the happy family (usually if you have kids, you have them make an appearance). How disgusting this all is. I mean you throw away all dignity and respect to get an award or to make rumors go away. No wonder 95% of actors/actresses marriages don't last. It's all one big PR stunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteIn all fairness to Redmayne he was INCREDIBLE in the The Danish Girl. He didn't do the cliche stereotypical trans he took it to another level and it was transcendent. Loved it!
ReplyDeleteNow I always heard that the Academy doesn't care for Leo thus the reason he is always overlooked. He must have pissed some bigwig something awful.
Sounds like Eddie Redmanye.
ReplyDeleteNo one has seen through the game yet because they don't read CDAN yet! This one is easy for me to hint: Eddie Redwayne.
ReplyDeleteWhat's Eddie's 'game' then? Are we saying he's gay?
ReplyDeleteI mean lots of people his age get married and a year or so later are expecting their first baby.
Eddie RedCarpet for the win!
ReplyDeleteTeam Eddie!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he's done all their wives and/or daughters.
ReplyDeleteOr sons, lol!
ReplyDeleteWhoever this is, this has the subject person being a Gay man written all over it. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.)
ReplyDeleteI've nothing against Leo D. but my problem when i watch him in some of his 'nominated' films is that i can't get past that i'm watching Leo or 'Jack' playing a role.. I didn't get 'lost' in the characters....i think he's great in his early films like "What's Eating GilbertGrape" & even "Poison Ivy" & such..
ReplyDelete-and I did believe him in some others like "Shutter Island" & "TheDeparted"...
-That being said, i DO think he's an excellent actor who works hard to get it right & i AM hoping he's awesome in "The Revenant" when I see it so that I can root for him!
-Plus the fact that HE produced "The Orphan" surprised me(in a good way)& i like being surprised(like Tom Cruise did in "Tropic Thunder).
Baby Jesus on a stick I hope not.
ReplyDeleteNo this has Redmayne written all over it. The wife is a publicist and they just announced they're pregnant. This isn't a blind item at all . . .
ReplyDeleteI kinda agree - and didn't agree with a lot of the reviews. I thought it was a touching performance and a good film. I doubt he has a snowball's chance at the Oscar given it's Leo's year, but I wouldn't be horrified if he picked up a SAG or Globe of BAFTA. And I think at this point everyone in the biz knows he's gay, the studios are only concerned about the general public. And anyway, he and Hannah may be very good friends and care for each other - that does sometimes happen in these types of marriages. One hopes so, anyway, for the baby's sake, but it is too bad that this still has to be handled this way for so many.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why Enty says no one will see through the game . . . pretty much everyone knows Redmayne is gay.
ReplyDeleteThis is Eddie Redmayne
ReplyDeleteHe married a friend. He's been gay since before he was famous. When he got famous, he 'became' straight.
Maybe he just can't act.
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDeleteI guess in short I just don't like his work so much as i respect his effort.
ReplyDeleteEddie. He like Cumber. Married, baby and power lovers. My love Olivier was like these guys. And beard who his longtime best friends. I have more respect for Eddie and Hannah.
ReplyDeleteagree with back again about leo. loved his early movies. don't forget 'this boy's life' which is my all time favorite. he blew me away when he was young.
ReplyDeleteand also, don't forget 'the aviator.' LOL. leo as howard hughes was the worst idea ever and i've never quite forgiven him for it. 'the departed' helped.
I agree, Redmayne. Is he in the closet?
ReplyDeleteAnd they are all on drugs to numb the pain... @Lisa,
ReplyDeleteYou are unique, Lisa
ReplyDeleteI couldn't of put it better Lisa and @Hot Cola
ReplyDeleteThis has Redmayne all over it. It's perfectly true that some "mariage blanc" arrangements exist for the purpose of creating a family, but I don't like the institution of marriage being used to promote someone's acting career of getting an award, as it obviously is in this case. No, I don't know the characters, but the timings of the marriage and pregnancy are suspect.
