Apparently the egos on this potential huge box office winner reboot of an 80’s franchise are so out of control that a good half of the day is spent making sure each person has the same number of lines, the same number of production assistants and the same number of compliments from the director. I should clarify that only two of the stars are acting this way. One of the stars who came to the film from late night is a joy and everyone adores her.
Ghostbusters/Kristen Wiig/Melissa McCarthy
Nice one- Kate McKinnon
This does not surprise me at all. Kate is fabulous on SNL, as is Leslie Jones. I found Wiig annoying even during SNL stint as she's the same, unidimensional "character" over and over again. Exactly like McCarthy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for including the nice one!
ReplyDeleteThat's disappointing to hear. McCarthy and Wiig always seem so gracious, but Kate seems like she'd be great to work with!
ReplyDeleteYou know who's not amusing? Whiny, entitled, divas. I never bought Melissa McCarthy as even a marginally nice person and Wiig seems very brittle & desperate.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't planned on seeing this movie anyway, but 'comic actresses' who are insecure to the point of requiring hand holding sound like the opposite of fun to watch.
+1
ReplyDeleteWe've seen that character - what else ya got? Often, it's nothing.
Wondering which one of them will be unzipped and... ahem, pleasured by a spectre a la Dan Ackroyd's original depiction -- should that scene be included in the remake.
ReplyDeleteFemale comedians always seem bitter and jealous that they were never pretty enough to be starlets.
ReplyDeleteKate is my favorite on SNL. She cracks me up. I'm glad she's the 'nice one'
ReplyDeletethe moment i first saw kate mckinnon on SNL I knew she was going to be big.
ReplyDeletekirsten wiig and whale melissa mccarthy are overrated.
Way to go misogynist commenter
ReplyDeleteFemale comedians do not need to be pretty, just funny. Just like, you know. male comedians
Bitches fighting- tell me no!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove Kate McKinnon. Glad she's the nice one. The vibe I get off Wiig is the same I get off Tina Fey: they are the original mean girls and are probably out-and-out bitches in real life. And only sporadically funny.
ReplyDeleteI knew Wiig was crazy and awful, I didn't know it about McCarthy.
ReplyDeleteHH, try ONTD for your SJW needs, they love that shit.
ReplyDeleteI think this was planted to make them look bad since so many people don't think ghostbusters can be women. Pathetic.
ReplyDeleteThis is depressing. There are fewer comedic opportunities for women and maybe this is why. If they can't stop being catty bitches for the sake of the film, I don't have high hopes for it.
ReplyDeleteWhat are SJW needs?
ReplyDeleteRemember the reveal about Wiig crying in a restaurant when that guy from The Strokes broke up with her? "But I let you have the ass?"
ReplyDeleteRemember the reveal about Wiig crying in the restaurant when The Strokes guy dumped her? "But I let you have the ass?!"
ReplyDeleteThis Ghostbusters remake is gonna fall flat, not as bad as Gem & the Holograms bad, but still a huge bomb I predict. Kinda like that Honeymooners remake a few years ago. Yeah, no one here remembers that one.
ReplyDeleteSocial Justice Warrior, according to Urban Dictionary.
ReplyDelete@Malibuborebee. (Tee hee hee.) That was funnier than anything Wiig or McCarthy has ever said.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on enjoying Kate. She was hilarious in that alien abduction sketch last week.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I've been holding this in for a few years now. I am a relative of one of Kristen's "friends" and coworkers at SNL and subsequent film and Kristen is a pill.
ReplyDeleteNope, you are wrong about Tina. She is not exactly warm and fuzzy but not definitely not a mean girl.
ReplyDeleteThis is not the first time we've heard this type of thing about Melissa. I read that she and Kristen went way back in an improv troupe. I guess I thought they were friends. The first thing I thought was, does Amy Pohler choose to work with these women? Amy goes not suffer fools so if she doesn't work with funny women I've got to wonder why.
ReplyDeleteRemember the Chris Farley sketch with Paul McCartney on SNL where he kept asking him questions that started with "Remember" and then later he would ask it again only kinda different? Remember when I asked you about the Paul and Chris thing?
ReplyDeletetumblr, too
ReplyDeleteHmm, that's not ego. That's insecurity. Confident people don't need validation. Enty is such a moron.
