Today's Blind Items- The Grudge
About a decade ago there was a hit network show. It had one female lead and that is the way she liked it. She is probably lower on the acting scale than she was back then, but she has way more name recognition now. She is probably A+ list when it comes to name recognition. Anyway, while filming her show, she had some rules. Number one was that her boyfriend was off limits. Yeah, her husband too, but especially her actor boyfriend. Sure, she had to keep the boyfriend out of the tabloids, but that doesn't mean she wanted him dating anyone else. During one of the early seasons of the show when she had just begun hooking up with her co-star, another actress came on the show. She made it clear she was interested in the actor. The next thing you know, she was gone from the show. Banished except when absolutely necessary for her character to be there. Fast forward another year and another actress showed an interest. More than an interest, the actor actually hooked up with this actress. What happened to her? Gone from the show and to make things even worse, our actress talked smack about her and she has barely worked since.
Hmmm Gillian Anderson Xfiles?
ReplyDeleteKatie Holmes Joshua Jackson and??? or Joey and Pacey if you must
ReplyDeletePauley Perrette NCIS
ReplyDeleteJen Garner/ Michael Vartan/Scott Foley
ReplyDeleteMeredith Monroe?
ReplyDeleteWas not there more than one female lead in NCIS?
ReplyDeleteNot network
ReplyDeletePauley was the main lead
ReplyDelete+absolutely.
ReplyDeleteNice job.....married to Foley 2000-2004/ended because of affair w/Vartan/ shows run 2000-2005- Alias was Garner(I didn't watch much- but she was terrific in it), and it a massive hit. Obviously A+ name rec now due to personal life.,mthough I still maintain she's a good actress and always like her work
You also had that actress who played Ziva David.
ReplyDeleteSo Cote was not considered a lead?
ReplyDeleteI thought about Alias but couldn't place the other two women. Mia Maestro and Melissa George still work unless this was Lena Olin?
ReplyDeleteI'll only add I think the other actress she blackballed may be Sarah Shahi(who is gorgeous) and did only 7 episodes in 2002 or so, she has a bit (the L word and "For Your Consideration- one of my fave movies), but one wouldn't know her name easily.
ReplyDelete*she has worked
ReplyDeleteI don't consider Jenn Garner "lower on the acting scale" than she was while on Alias....but who knows
ReplyDeleteWell she came on 2 years after Pauley....think the answer is suppose to be jenn Garner anyways....stupid description though
ReplyDeleteMaybe 1st Merrin Dungey & MÃa Maestro doesn't have much work
ReplyDeleteNice @Elle B. --i was thinking 'Alias' was too early but i guess it wasn't..
ReplyDeletethis version is the gentler kinder version of Jen on set with ANY other woman...& then we always have the still bitter Scott Foley version too.(honestly though who wouldn't want to be with Michael Vartan then-whooey nice looking guy)
Sarah was/is cute & she's been steadily working "Chicago Fire" & "Person Of Interest" but yeah, you're right re: spotty 2002-2003 time period.
ReplyDeletethat Jen's never been the sweet gal her P.R. has succeeded in making her out to be.
I like this. Impressive sleuthing you all. Or for nostalgia's sake, "Nice law & ordering this shit out!" ????
ReplyDeleteJeebus. Don't people just go to work, do their job, then go home to dinner?
ReplyDeleteGreat guess, totally fits. I loved that show and hated the last season, it was a let down. My thoughts at the time was that JG didn't want another Melissa George stealing her spotlight so she picked a pizzazz-less costar, Rachel Nichols, for the final season. No offense to RN, I haven't seen her in anything else, but that story line was so incredibly boring.
