Blind Item #7
This permanent A list mostly movie actor turned permanent A list mostly movie director is cranky. Some diners were seated at "his" table at a restaurant and when the manager declined to move them, our actor/director walked over to their table and told them to move. When they didn't, he yanked the tablecloth off the table bringing all their plates and dishes to the floor with it.
Clint eastwood
ReplyDeleteclint eastwood
ReplyDelete...now if the plates had REMAINED on the table when he yanked the tablecloth off I'd be saying VERY different words under my breath about him right now!
ReplyDeleteChange to Robert Redford- "his table" being a dinner the other night for latest film.
ReplyDeleteThe film is "Truth" with Cate Blanchett
ReplyDeleteOr "his table" is at his restaurant "Zoom" in Park City more likely...and he wanted them to move
ReplyDeleteNo way is this Robert Redford. He'd NEVER make a scene like this.
ReplyDeleteClint gets my vote!
And this is the restaurant I'm guessing: http://hogsbreathinn.net/
ReplyDeleteSomeone at that table should have gotten the whole incident on their phone and posted on YouTube. That would have been great.
ReplyDeleteHe would have been wearing some of my food if he did that to me. What a jerk
Robert Redford is not a permanent A list director lmao and your reasoning is pathetic.
ReplyDeleteBack in the 80's, I heard about Clint's "entitled" temper from a film crew member who saw Clint's anger first hand.
ReplyDeleteHe told me that someone had parked in "his spot." So, Clint got out with a baseball bat and beat the crap out of the violator's windshield.
Fortunately for the car owner, according to the crew member, Clint left a blank check under the wiper before walking away.
Ever since then, I've considered Clint to be nothing more than a Grumpy Old Man.
So, the table thing makes sense to me.
He's not? That's sad.
ReplyDeleteThis is Crazy Clint. Maybe he had a date with an empty chair at that table, had his soliloquy all ready. And by soliloquy, I mean gun.
lol talk about irony---in Clints world all chairs should be empty
ReplyDeleteIf it's a restaurant Robert owns do you really think the staff would tell him they're not going to move customers? They'd be fired in a heartbeat if he was that big of an asshole.
ReplyDeleteThe reasoning really is pathetic. Movie premieres that have dinners for the cast & producers don't just show up, they have reservations usually in private rooms that are setup well before anyone shows up.
ReplyDeleteAnd if it was Robert's restaurant he'd just fire the person that said no to him. If it's HIS restaurant an employee wouldn't say no to their boss over something like that.
clint eastwood is always cranky. its part of why he's adorable. he is SO get-off-my-lawn
ReplyDeleteRowdy Yates ain't got time for your lingering dinning chit-chat
ReplyDeleteI talk to the trees
But they don't listen to me, until they are cut down and become chairs?
I talk to the stars
But they never hear me
The breeze hasn't time
To stop and hear what I say
I talk to them all in vain
But suddenly my words
Reach someone else's ear
At someone else's heart strings too
I tell you my dreams
And while you're listening to me
I suddenly see them come true
I can see us some April night
Looking out across a rollin' farm
Having supper in the candlelight
Walking later, arm in arm
Then I'll tell you how I pa*s the day
Thinking mainly how the night would be
Then I'll try to find the words to say
All the things you mean to me
I tell you my dreams
And while you're listening to me
I suddenly see them come true
I love that place in Carmel-Clint used to own it, now he owns a place called "The Mission Ranch" I think that's supposes to be great...
ReplyDeletethat story is just shy of being a scene out of Goodfellas and the word grumpy is an overreach here!
ReplyDeleteIf Jack Nicholson was a director we would have our answer. Not too many permanent A list actors turned A list director. Clint fits I guess. What about Jody Foster?
ReplyDeleteNot sure what unicorn water bowl some people are drinking from here- but Redford is very much a carmudgeon and grumpy old man the last 10 to 15 years. Just ask his Sundance ” interns /employees*And yes, he is a d*** like that at his restauraunt(s)when he wants to be. Maybe it comes with the territory of running a festival(see DeNiro), but this could easily be him-( he is also absolutely a permanent A list director- prick,or not)or the obvious (yawn) guess of Eastwood.
ReplyDeleteNicholson is a member of member only restaurants like the”Caribou Club” in Aspen- he has done this- but not a director.
Still my favorite answer fwiw.
You think this is "Ordinary Bob" for fuck's sake? Not in a million, zillion years would he pull a stunt like that.
ReplyDeleteYell at cast and crew fucking off? Yes. Demanding? Yes. Ascerbic? Yes.
Ugly public scenes? No. Never.
I've heard some stories about Redford, so I think he's capable of doing this. The comments above seem to think that if this happened it was at a restaurant Robert owned. I don't know how they're getting that out of the blind. This could have been at a restaurant that he frequents but doesn't own.
ReplyDeleteHey@Huh? I think that was my misconception ,that he -RR (or Clint for that matter) was eating at his own establishment if/when this occurred ; in truth, it was likely another place(like a special place he frequents). I think the blind is BS or embroidered anyway, but in the sport of guessing I thought It may be RR( guess I've heard similar stories as you:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the Robert Redford guess
ReplyDeleteClint Eastwood. And if I was one of the diner's at "his" table and he ripped the table cloth and dishes off the table, I would get my ass up and leave. I would also let the manager know I was leaving and not paying for my meal, but if "Get off my damn lawn" Clint wants to sit at a certain table so bad, let him have it.
