Even though a movie has started shooting with this B list mostly movie actress who has a stalled franchise, the studio is pressuring producers to dump her because she is considered box office poison. One bomb after another, including a very recent one.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo-stalled franchise
ReplyDelete+1...also she's got some drinking issues i think for sure that are finally too obvious to ignore.
ReplyDeleteThey are idiot.Rooney is going to be nominated next year for Carol
ReplyDeleteand what were her latest bombs---Star Trek? Guardians of the Galaxy? I dont think so ; )
ReplyDeleteWhat's she doing now that a Studio would be trying to get rid of her on?
ReplyDeleteShe's probably going to be wooed for an Oscar after her "Carol" performance if anything is what I hear after her Cannes Award
hi french girl---I want to see that!
ReplyDeleteRooney isn't filming- doing V/O work on Kubo...and yes- rave reviews for. Carol..probably will get a nom@frenchgirl
ReplyDeleteKubo and the two strings with Charlize and Mathew McCounahey
ReplyDeleteit is still a MOVIE with her name in the lead
ReplyDeletezoe does not have any bombs
LOL, she may be nominated for an Oscar, she may even win, but she still has no pull at the box office. No one likes her and an Oscar won't change that.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Zoe is A LIST. SHE IS IN SOME OF THE MOST TOP GROSSING FILMS OF ALL TIME. ok I am done pleasing my case.
ReplyDelete*pleading
ReplyDeleteI read this as Rooney Mara as well, with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo as the franchise and Pan as the movie. I've heard no one wants to hire her because she has no draw.
ReplyDeleteIMDB says she's filming Kubo and the Two Strings....but it's only voice so idk.
ReplyDeleteZoe was in Infinitely Polar. Bear which came out in June and was a total bomb. Plus Rosemary's Baby remake a few in between the franchise stuff.
ReplyDeleteInfinity Polar Bear was NOT a bomb---it only cost 6 million to make and got rave reviews. Zoe is A list, as she should be. Avatar, Guardians of Galaxy, Star Trek, Pirates of the Caribbean. The fact that people are dismissing her-is VERY SUSPECT. I will just leave it at that.
ReplyDeleteI liked pleasing my case.. lol !!! the autocorrects are great!
ReplyDeleteand Zoe is filming Star Trek right now---ya think the studio is gonna say "well that damn Polar Bear movie didn't make 100 million dollars so lets pull her out the franchise cause people wont go see Star Trek if she is in it again". She was in the other 2 and they were both major money makers.
ReplyDeletenope, that is just my own stupidity hahaha
ReplyDeleteI think got Derek got it, Rooney will certainly get a nom for Carol, which is a film that is headed to BO specialty, that is not aimed to make big buck but to get praise instead. Having said that every studio mainstream movie she does bombs, Pan is the latests. But I call this BI bullshit bc I don’t think a producer would change Mara in the middle of the filming bc Pan bombed. I wonder if they will hurry up with the Dragoon Tattoo I really think it’s now or never: Craig has had enough of Bond, Rooney need a commercial success and Fincher is there just waiting.
ReplyDeleteActress: Chloe Moretz, widely considered to be box office poison.
ReplyDeleteStalled franchise: Kick Ass 1+2 (there will be no 3).
Agree - think it's Rooney Mara not Zoe Saldana. Rooney may well get a nom for Carol but she's being campaigned as supporting not lead (though apparently she IS the lead and the Cannes jury awarded her Best Actress) presumably because Cate Blanchett's ego just gets bigger and bigger.
ReplyDeleteIf she gets a nom (or even an Oscar) in supporting, that isn't the same as lead and is unlikely to increase her popularity with the general public (most of whom have zero idea who she is).
Don't think the voiceover work is going to help - when has it ever? In any case she won't get the exposure Charlize and McConaughey will as they are so much better known. They'll be the ones doing the press junkets.
ahhh. human error. even better..funny. ; )
ReplyDelete@LimoMan : interesting guess, but it would say "young" I think? Maybe not, though.
ReplyDeleteI have never read a blind about Rooney Mara, or her sister that did not state"from an acting family"- also- Carol is too acclaimed a film to have anyone think she is poison, the total opposite. Also "Her"did very well - AAnominations etc. So with Rooney it would mention critics faves at the least. That leaves Saldana, who could easily be because the only films she is in that do well are franchises-and Avatar is known as "the stalled franchise" when talking about the other actors in it as well.
Maybe it's another Avatar actress?
-I like Chloe Maretz!
ReplyDelete-I liked her in "Let Me In" & in "The Equalizer"..well, i just enjoyed the movie "The Equalizer" good popcorn film
-So what would they kick her out of..."Neighbors 2" ???
How can you single out one person for a flop, unless they are the star. Even then you need a great script and director. If everyone got it right but that one actress, it's understandable but otherwise it's stupid.
ReplyDeleteIf the wording was a bit different, I'd say BRITT ROBERTSON filming "Mother's Day" now-- bomb was "Tomorrowland"--stalled Franchise "Scream 4" lowest B.O. & Wes Craven passed away..
ReplyDeleteother bombs: "Delivery Man".."Longest Ride".."Under The Dome"
-I'll probably get kicked into Moderation Hell but I never got the big deal with Zoe Saldana anyway.I mean she's okay but so are thousandsofothers-shedoes not stand out atall in my eyes.
ReplyDelete-And whatever happened to her big controversial movie "Nina Simone" ???
@Back Again- it tested badly within the studio I think. It is supposed to release this year which only has a small window left. Not a good sign in the movie industry.
ReplyDeleteThe Zoe Saldana guess is from outer space. Last Star Trek movie made huge profits; Guardians of the Galaxy was stupid successful; and even The Book of Life earned nearly $100 million on a $50 million dollar budget. Also, none of her franchises are stalled: the next Star Trek movie is filming and the Marvel machine is rolling along as usual. In other words, the only person who fits these clues less is Robin Williams.
ReplyDeleteThe only Avatar came out just about 7 years ago--- with sequels 2-3-4 in "pre production" limbo for a loooong time. If that isn't stalled, I don't know what is. That said, not sure who this is.None of these actresses fit perfectly at all with the clues.
ReplyDeleteBut Zoe is actually filming a movie at the moment, so there's that.
ReplyDeleteIs Hangover due to have another installment? This could be Heather Graham maybe- everything else she is in tanks.
Zoe's bland as hell. I don't know how she got in all those franchises but kudos to her agent. And thank god that Nina Simone movie went nowhere.
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell would an Avatar 2 be about anyways?
ReplyDelete*derp..."Let The Right One In" film.
ReplyDelete'let me in' is what my sister would say scratching on my door scaring me after I'd read "Salem's Lot" when I was pretty young(it scared the bejesus outa me).
ahh gotcha.
ReplyDelete"Widely considered" by whom? The Equalizer, If I Stay, and Carrie all made 3-5 times their budget. She was the main reason anyone watched the first Kick-Ass and the second was so horribly produced and written that there was never going to be a third installment.
ReplyDeleteThink Mara makes sense. Personally I love Zoe Saldana and think she's a huge talent. There's a good documentary about Nina Simone on Netflix for anyone that's interested.
ReplyDeleteWhy suspect? She is a lizard face lousy actress who got insanely lucky to be cast in high profile movies. She is rude, no one likes her or her annoying, constant "I'm from the DR so I'm a badass" routine.
ReplyDeleteBut I still think this is Rooney. And probably fake.
I am not a huge fan, but her success makes her A-list.
ReplyDeleteThis site is finally compatable with my mobile!
Saldana or someone not mentioned yet. Mara isn't filming a film- she is contributing a voiced character on an animated film with a big cast, in a booth. There is no reason to replace an actress doing voice over work because she is not box office viable or "poison"- if that were true - someone needs to explain a good number of working actors in Hollywood right now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and even if she gets an Oscar nom she hasn't yet. So, she's just someone with some bombs under her belt. And a franchise that people have forgotten by now.
