Blind Item #1
This B+ list actor keeps trying to do television and failing. He has had some big success back in the day with a big television classic and even had a movie classic that may finally get a sequel after a couple of decades. Anyway, he has been taken in by the teachings of the cult and is cutting off a lot of people close to him as he gets more and more wrapped up in the cocoon. Sad to see.
Tim Allen mebbe?
ReplyDeleteKyle MacLachlan/Twin peaks?
ReplyDeleteOkay. It is an actor who played first in a classic Television series and in a classic movie who will now get a sequel after all those years.
ReplyDelete@Tricia The new Twin Peaks is a series. Not a movie.
Fire Walk with Me was a classic? *smirk*
I agree. I'm not sure what "big television classic" means to Enty. It could mean South Park, Hill Street Blues, or anything in between. "Classic" appears to be subjective.
ReplyDeleteGiovanni Ribisi?
ReplyDeleteNo but "Dune " was.
ReplyDeleteI know Twin Peaks is TV and it's being rebooted- I thought there was discussion about a Dune sequel finally? Or has been over the years...
Oh yes. Now I remember. He was in that movie as well. Just like Sting and Brad Dourif. I am not sure if the critics thought back then that it was a classic. But it has been awhile that I have seen the movie.
ReplyDeleteGoonies?
ReplyDeleteIronically, often what the critics praise/favor and works that become classics are often not sympatico lol. The novel series by Herbert was an absolute classic, but not sure here about a sequel(there was a mini series).its likely someone younger, anyway- I think?
ReplyDeleteTrainspotting is supposed to be getting a sequel, per Danny Boyle, but I've no idea how this helps, if it does.
ReplyDeleteI read that too- what a film that was.....so edgy and sleek- and intense(in a good way).
ReplyDeleteGR is definitely a Scientologist.
ReplyDeleteYes, apparently there have been projects to do a Dune sequel, so, MachLachlan is a likely guess.
ReplyDeleteOh, about Trainspotting, what about that final, off voice, inner monologue ( and then you die). Great.
Jason Lee?
ReplyDeleteMy Name is Earl as the tv success, and it looks like there is a planned sequel to Mallrats.
ReplyDeleteIt was so dark- but powerful.like the monologue at the end of American Beauty(just watched again - 100th time lol)
ReplyDeleteI don't think "My Name Is Earl" counts as a "big television classic." But totally with you, @Tricia and @mariaj, on Trainspotting. I'm extremely curious as to what a sequel will look like.
ReplyDeleteAll 4 of the original actors are signed on again too for 'Trainspotting"
ReplyDelete(of course they're all driving family vans now..)
Dear lord, tell me there's no Showgirls remake in the works...
ReplyDeleteThe 'Cocoon' reference made me think of Steve Guttenberg with "DINER" as classic movie but alas, no t.v. classic of note---but i wonder what he is doing anyway(other than Hallmark Xmas movies)?
ReplyDeletePray thee nooo@Blue Jeans- but that was the plan I think, before SG opened and bombed....
ReplyDeleteJosh Brolin
ReplyDeleteLast guess here- Even if rating is off maybe(though he works a lot)
ReplyDeleteDonald Faison- Hit film from 20 years ago with possible /probable sequel -Clueless(1995 release)/"classic" or hit show- Felicity or Scrubs....
Recent failed shows:
The Exes(w/Leah Remini strangely), Undateable, FCU
ted danson. "three men and a little" reboot.
ReplyDeleteclassoc: cheers.
bored to death. becker.
but still on csi...
cocoon = connceted to the gutte.
Well, Matthew Perry keeps throwing everything at the wall to see what'll stick TV-wise, but I don't believe he's ever been in a classic movie.
ReplyDeleteAnthony Edwards. Series is ER. There is talk of a TOP GUN sequel.
ReplyDeleteEdward James Olmos (Blade Runner sequel, Miami Vice/Battlestar Galactica)?
ReplyDeleteWhat about someone from the Beetlejuice sequel? Idk why but for some reason I thought of it.
