Behind the scenes the staff of this late night show are all looking for jobs because they know they will all lose them if their boss doesn't start improving.
And another! Well done @tricia-.what were you like 9/10 yesterday? Maybe you'll beat it today. These must only be the few blinds you READ though, of course smdh
well when you guess first or almost first on every single blind you are bound to get at least 1/3 right which is about her average. It is simple mathematics -regarding ratios. Maybe a little too complex for someone like you to understand.
I think the Late Show with Colbert staff is probably starting to feel the same way. He is funny for about 5 or 10 minutes or when parodying a news show but an hour of his act get real old and ratings are starting to reflect that. Kimmel is even beating him.
And thank god she doesn't say"nailed it" like a fool every time. Derek guesses like this most of the time -"RIhaNNa"-TRyING tO Be fIRST. Its called CAP lock-just unlock it and breathe before you post ffs-not hard. Also his spelling is so atrocious that even if the answer was right- no one would know.
if you can't spell "Derek" correctly when it's right in front of your face, that's a sad commentary on either your observation skills or spelling skills. not sure.
Colbert's show is just reminiscent of The Colbert Report - which is exactly what his fans WANT. It doesn't mean it will always be like that...they are probably gradually transitioning. It's like when I see comments bitching about the "Stephen!" chanting. It's leftover from Colbert Report days, let his fans revel in it. The writing panders to his already-existing fanbase, rather than simply mirroring other talk shows. If you find Fallon more funny then Colbert, then it's simply a difference in taste of humor. I think Fallon is awkward and unfunny, like the kid who tries to hard to be the class clown in school. He's on his third or fourth week. I'll defend Colbert till I'm blue in the face because his talent far outshines *most* people in late night. I don't know if Pete Holmes is still on the air, but wtf was that shit? How could people watch that? I don't get it. There's a reason other late night shows have to have Justin Timberlake singing karaoke with them - they need something other than their own personality to draw in viewers.
Moral of the story is that your opinion is somewhat short sighted and (luckily) not reflective of the target audience of the show.
The network's target audience is anyone watching late night talk shows. If his fan base doesn't grow beyond his current 'fans' the show may not make it. You don't want to be in third place in in three horse race. No denying his fans find him brilliant. At some point ad$$ go to ratings no matter how brilliant his fans think he is. That being said the network has invested a lot in him and will give him time to try and make it work- maybe it will.
I don't watch Seth that much as he comes on pretty late where I'm at. I did catch his show last week, though, and noticed instead of the typical stand-up opening monologue, he went straight to his desk and did "the news" a la SNL Weekend Update. It made me wondered if he was wishing he hadn't left his gig at SNL...
It's depressing that the networks are willing to give the thoroughly mediocre Seth Meyers a late night show but not willing to give a shot to any of the super-talented female comics out there. I would pay cash on the barrel-head to see a late-night show hosted by Tina Fey, for instance. And I hate late-night shows.
Late night shows are murder when your alarm goes off at 5:30 AM. I haven't kept track for ~10 years of what time they air on the west coast, but it's brutal on the east coast. I require employment, so I rarely catch late night anymore. Being an adult is crummy some times.
It's weird enough that people here trip over themselves to be the first to guess these things...and it's even more strange that those same people trip over themselves to write "so and so nailed it derp!" but the height of the Twin Peaks atmosphere has to be the fact that you're now fighting over it. What is even happening?
And another!

ReplyDeleteUm.Ok. So what's your excuse for today and most other days ?
ReplyDeleteps- don't have any "idols", especially not on a gossip site.I do however, have an aversion to whiny , bitter a*ssholes.

Drea...YOU just "nailed it"! He is probably a 14 yr old girl. Who gets competitive over gossip??? Maybe someone who actually watches Teen Moms. LOL!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I am legally blind in one eye and almost there on the left? When I think of that person it's with a big ICK and a small...... never mind.

ReplyDeleteI get Seth Meyers confused with that "Greg the Bunny" guy....man, that was a funny show.
