Blind Item #10
Apparently the egos on this potential huge box office winner reboot of an 80's franchise are so out of control that a good half of the day is spent making sure each person has the same number of lines, the same number of production assistants and the same number of compliments from the director. I should clarify that only two of the stars are acting this way. One of the stars who came to the film from late night is a joy and everyone adores her.

ReplyDeletethe star from late night is Charlize. She is a joy to work with. Got stuck with a really awful director and cast members on her last show who were all so insecure (esp director) that they thought she was the competition. she's the nicest person you could ever meet. I guess that's why she did such a shitty job of standing up for herself.

ReplyDeleteDefinitely Ghostbusters, but I think the Late Night Star that folks enjoy working with is actually Leslie Jones. I don't think she gets near enough air time on SNL and she does some pretty good characters.
ReplyDeleteI'm with the Leslie Jones guess. I like her writing, her sketch performance is still a little weak to me but I think that's just because she's not getting enough experience. I can't imagine her pulling the diva card. Not so sure about Kate McKinnon or Wiig, they're likable enough but wouldn't surprise me if they believed their own hype.
ReplyDeleteWhy would Melissa Mccarthy sign on for this cr@p? She has been going from strength to strength. Spy was fantastic. I hope they do sequels. With Ghostbusters she's set to log a box office bomb. She'll survive but still.
ReplyDeleteSee now, I really liked Leslie Jones and thought the same, that she just needed a little more sketch practice until I saw her stand up special. I've never seen anyone read the audience like that, by practically sitting on them. Odd. And just kind of uneven

TheCousinEddy, AMEN to Leslie Jones! I love her on SNL. She had a tiny but hilarious part in "Trainwreck". I'm looking forward to this movie just so that I can see more of her.

ReplyDeleteAnd granted, this was well before Bridesmaids when she was just on SNL, but I met Kristen Wiig and she was as nice as could be. I mean, genuinely nice and friendly. She may have turned into a major bitch since then - I dunno. (For the record, at the same event I also met Will Forte, who was adorable and really friendly, and Will Arnett and Bob Odenkirk, who were both cold, unfriendly, moody douches whom I've disliked ever since).
