What aging R&B legend who has had several run-ins with the law pulled the “don’t who know who I am” card recently while shopping for Christmas presents?
Back in 1984 I ran into Gail Fisher at a Grocery/Supermarket in LA. She was approaching a check out line, and I being a gentleman, let her go first. I did NOT recognize her at all. When she said 'Thank you,' I said, 'You sound familiar.' She said something about having been on a very popular TV show years ago. As I was unloading my groceries, I kept trying to think "what" show was she on. She finally said, "You probably don't recognize me, but I was on 'Mannix.'" I said something to the affect of: Oh, my god, you are Gail Fisher! She did not look like her TV character, but she was so nice to a young poor, white guy barely able to pay for his own groceries. Since then, I have found that the celebrities who are 'normal' are more well liked than those that act 'better than thou.'
If she had a shopping while black experience, I don't blame her. If she was expecting groveling, well if you have to ask that question you ain't getting it.
Everybody was guessing Diana Ross except for somebody I know extremely well who guessed right :D
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing her on Celebrity Apprentice, that's no big surprise. She's not nice.
