Blind Item #4
Cancer has returned to this permanent A list mostly movie actor who is an Academy Award winner/nominee. The cancer is aggressive and he will be lucky to live another year.

ReplyDeleteMichael Douglas :(
ReplyDeleteProbs why he isn't splitting with Catherine and they've been spending tons of time with kids.
Head & neck cancer is nasty business.
ReplyDeleteStill wondering about Liam Neeson, as well.
This is not a nice/uplifting/fun blind. That's just sad.
ReplyDeleteProbably Michael Douglas. I certainly haven't heard of many surviving throat cancer in the long term.
Damn. This gives me the sads, whoever it is.
ReplyDeleteAw, man, this is rough.
ReplyDeleteI'm still worried about Liam Neeson too. More specifically his kids. They already lost their mom. They deserve to have their dad live forever.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Enty will start a pool for who passes away first - Michael or Kirk.
ReplyDeleteMichael looks it again ...
ReplyDeleteLiam's done with his treatments for now i thought & it's now a wait & see if it worked.
I think Michael's son is due to get out of prison next year
ReplyDeleteTHIS SUCKS. :((
ReplyDeleteNot many male academy award winning A list actors with known cancer.
ReplyDeleteObviously, Michael Douglas is the best fit here. . .and this is probably him.
Still, just to be Devil's advocate, Robert DiNiro has a history of prostate cancer, and he's certainly an A-list academy award winning actor.
There are certainly other male A-list academy award winners old enough to have had cancer . . .but I can't really name that I know who do.
On Liam Neeson, he's been rumored to have cancer (see here for why: http://www.inquisitr.com/2287875/liam-neeson-frail-2/ ) but his publicist has flatly denied it. In any case, he doesn't have an Academy award, so the blind doesn't fit him.
OK, I see this is A list academy award winner or NOMINEE.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I missed that the first time, or Enty changed it later, but if we include A-list nominees that significantly enlarges the pool of potential candidates.
This is still probably Michael Douglas, since I think right now he's the highest profile A-lister with known cancer, but if we include AA nominees Liam Neeson could go back in. There are several others who have had cancer scares:
Dustin Hoffman has had throat cancer, I think he's "permanent A list" from his iconic performances in Rain Man and The Graduate. Original James Bond Sean Connery has also had throat cancer and would fit.
Not sure how "permanent A list" he is, but Ian McKellan has a history of prostate cancer and has two Academy nominations. Harrison Ford is certainly "permanent A list", and has had skin cancer, though his cancer probably wasn't/isn't really life threatening.
Stretching a bit, Mark Ruffalo has had a brain tumor, but it was benign and I don't quite think he's "permanent A list". I think he'd probably get a different description, too.
Burt Reynolds, doesn't have a public history of cancer that I know if, but he's not looking too hot: http://hollywoodlife.com/2015/05/11/burt-reynolds-frail-appearance-unrecognizable-comic-con/
There are probably others.
.
Is Samuel Jackson considered permanent A list?
