Blind Item #4- Kindness
As much as I dislike this A- list mostly television actress who will shortly be out of work again. Probably. I mean I guess there is a tiny chance the network show could be picked up, but I doubt it. Anyway, I dislike her, and I want to dislike her all the time and then she goes and drops $100K for a jet to pick up 75 dogs and bring them to the US for adoption. She had already paid for all of the vet bills and paperwork for the dogs and also sent out e-mails and made phone calls to get the dogs homes. By my count she has saved about 1,000 dogs over the past few years.

ReplyDeleteMindy Kaling?
ReplyDeleteEnty loves Mindy..gotta be heigl.
ReplyDeleteHeigl is known for her dog rescue charity efforts. I'm with Enty in my dislike of her, but she really does do good work in this regard.
ReplyDeleteMindy was my first thought because of the news that her show has been canned by Fox and might move to Hulu, but how can you hate Mindy???

ReplyDeleteDebra Messing? Right now it's 50/50 that "The Mysteries of Laura" gets a pick up. And Enty has a mad-on for her.
ReplyDeleteI would love forever whoever dis is. Even if its heigl, i'll start watching her shit show
ReplyDeleteDid she take the dogs from some godforsaken Chinese kitchen? Because they can be adopted by anyone in every country, they aren't kids who have special needs like being properly fed or educated. They are just dogs, which eat literal shit and can live in any dumpster with no important damage to their health.
ReplyDeleteI'm so confused....there are millions of stray dogs in America, why is she bringing MORE here? Have people adopt from here! Sounds dumb to me.
ReplyDelete@Wendy..This is what I was thinking too.
ReplyDeleteThere are some countries that don't have much, if any, in the way of animal shelters. They just end up being killed or used as target practice, like on Dead Dog Island in Puerto Rico. It's disgusting since local leaders won't do anything. Their only hope is help from the outside.

ReplyDeleteSoooooo... she *shouldn't* help foreign dogs?
Canine xenophobes? Her choice, and their chances, obviously, are waaaaaay slimmer. Good on her for helping, it is not ours to criticize. Tsk tsk.
It reminds me of the all the guys & gals at the Russian Winter Olympics--it's all good.
ReplyDeleteLet me start off by saying I like most animals (pets) and especially dogs, so I'm probably going to ruffle some feathers, but here I go:
ReplyDeleteAren't there already enough dogs and other animals in shelters here in America, waiting to be adopted? I appreciate this actress's generosity and wanting to help animals, but couldn't she work with shelters or adoption agencies in these foreign lands or maybe use the money it cost to bring those animals to the U.S. to establish shelters in those countries if one doesn't already exist? Also, it mentions she picked up the Vet bills; did that include spaying or neutering said animals?
@CousinEddy, not ruffling at all -valid point & @Wendy & @Ginger et al. above seem to be on the same page as you- btw,I'm pretty confident that the Vet bills include spaying & neutering-- people discuss this all the time esp. re: Adoption of children...just sayin.
