While the rest of the celebrities made nice on the red carpet with cancer patients for a minute or two prior to a screening, this former B+ list mostly television actress who starred for years on a very hit ensemble network show before dropping out of another before shooting that just ended its long run spent the entire screening out on the red carpet talking to patients and posing for photos and listening to their stories and the stories from their loved ones. She is just an amazing human being.

ReplyDeleteTierney battled breast cancer herself about 4 years ago. She had to drop out of a series during treatment & we didn't see her much for a year or 2. She was so good in "The Affair." Hope she stays healthy & I'm sure it meant a lot to big C patients to talk with someone who's been through the drill.
ReplyDeleteFriend of mine met Maura at a wedding (seated with her during the reception) and had absolutely nothing but great things to say about her.
