Blind Item #5

The star of this hit network show used to be in movies. Always was in movies and then disappeared fr what seemed like a decade before he hit television. This is his second run on a hit network show. Technically third, but that third he was a bit player. Anyway, he was caught in a very bad position with a young girl who was guest starring on his current show. A very bad position. Like he should be in jail but for some reason is not. It happened on set.

  3. If Battle Creek is a hit, I would say Josh Duhamel.

The only one that I can think of who fits is unfortunately James Spader. I really hope it's not him.

  8. This made me go: Hmmmm! I worked with James Spader back in the 80's on a small film called 'Tuff Turf! that co-starred Robert Downey, Jr. One day on set, I approached James just him to say, "Hi! I am from MA, too!" just like him. What an ASS! he was -- and probably still is 30 years later.

James Spader hasn't disappeared for a decade. He's been nominated and won Emmy awards just a few years ago. He was on Boston Legal from 2004 to 2008, he was on The Office for a season, he's been in a few movies, like Lincoln. He's basically been working regularly for most of the past decade. Not sure how being nominated for Emmy's equals disappeared for a decade.

It is Spader, the "disappearance" would've been mid 90's - early 00s.

My first thought was Timothy Hutton but not sure if it fits.

That would make sense, but I took this blind to mean they've just recently come back after a decade away. If I'm wrong about that then it could be Spader.

Re-reading the blind and... yeah, Spader seems to fit. That sucks! I really like his work.

Working…but practically invisible from "Stargate" (1994) until his move to TV in '03. Even if you count "Secretary" (2002), which is one of those movies that more people claim to have seen than really did, that's still an 8-year gap between significant projects.

(Hell, I went to the premiere of "Two Days in the Valley" [1996] and the after party, and I don't even remember Spader being in the movie. Just the Teri Hatcher-Charlize Theron girl fight ;) )

  24. First time poster, love everyone's participation. The only Guest Star on The Black List that would fit this blind is Delphina Belle and she is only about 8yo.
