Mr. X Blind Item #4

"Absolutely not!" - permanent A++ list legend and EGOT winner on whether or not she's considering that kooky former A-list singer to co-star with her in that long-gestating movie musical she's been planning. She has privately met with that B-list actress/singer on a soon-to-be-ending almost network show to discuss the movie, and she's completely set on her for co-starring duties.

Seems to be Wicked with Chenoweth, Idina... and maybe some of the kiddos from Glee?

Babs makes more sense. I hate the people of the 70s for making her a star. She seems utterly insufferable.

Barbra is insufferable. She went to my HS and on our Alumni Board some of her classmates don't speak fondly of the girl driven to be famous and aloof. Even ones that considered her a friend can't get in touch with her anymore.

I agree with Streisand not wanting Gaga but the almost network show is throwing me off otherwise I would say someone from Glee, not Lea because of the B- and we all know that if it were her it would be all over

Totally agree on Streisand...I still think the B lister is Lea Michelle. I could see her totally kissing Streisand's ass.

  15. Babs, is very old now, she would need to sit for the entire movie.

Isn't Glee a network show, not almost network?

The 'Gypsy' Story always upset me b/c between that, 'West Side Story', & especially 'This Property Is Condemned',I always felt sorry for Natalie Wood thinking she was much like these characters that she played.. I didn't like the musical either even though it's considered the best of all by many critics. i dislike Mama Rose immensely. blur fantasy w/real life much here?? lol

I agree with your concerns about it being Glee. Glee, being on Fox , is usually referred to by Enty as network. Usually when he says "almost network" he is referring to CW

  20. I know Babs can be a butthole... But man is she an amazing entertainer.

Recently watched "property" and her acting was pretty awful in it!

I loooooove This Property is Condemned"/ Tennessee Williams my favorite playwright. I performed it(Alma's monologue once for something)., and sadly Williams and his craft are seen so seldomly anymore.
I agree as always@BA. Natalie is an American causality/ tragedy of epic measurement, thanks to that broker that called herself a mom. And the cycle repeats itself through generations in show biz:(

  23. I agree and I heard from someone that knew her that she's shy. That could be it and not aloof. Lots of people can be in front of cameras or even on stage but can't be with real people and cope very well.

I distinctly recall that Lea Michelle tried & tried to suck up to Barbra Streisand re: possible redo of 'Funny Girl'-Lea even sang the songs from it anytime she could..& Babs wanted(s) No Part Of Lea Michelle for anything-she was very clear about it...

i happen to really like Barbra Streisand & she's an amazing entertainer!!! and aside from Funny Girl,Funny Lady,What's Up Pussycat, etc. etc.. one of my all time Favorite movies is: "What's Up Doc" ...so there!! lol

i mean the character Alva was so sad & the story was so depressing-i wasn't basing it on the quality of her acting.. (& in real life Natalie's mother pimped her out sooo, it was very similiar & a real downer & she tragically dies in both real life & the story) see, i'm a sap...lol

Not to mention that Barbra is WAAAAY too old to play Mama Rose. Rose is usually played by women in their 40s or early 50s - Streisand is well over 70. I doubt this will ever happen, unless Streisand bankrolls it with her own money, and that's doubtful. If Into the Woods did underwhelming box office, no one at all will see a Gypsy starring Streisand.

I understand the Idina love, but she is also much too old to play Fanny Brice in Funny Girl. I think Streisand was 23 or 24 when she did it back in the day - that's age appropriate.
