Blind Item #8

You can decide which one really happened. Two people were in the room who heard the same story. Two people who give me tips frequently. One swears she heard that this baby daddy was actually in the bed of another woman when he got the call that his B+ list offspring/actress baby mama was going into labor. The other woman heard it as the baby daddy was in the bed of another woman the day before and what if he had been at the time he got the call. Either way, not a relationship that is long lasting.

For those who don't understand Yiddish or Hebrew, It is Mazel Tov, Tov means good, and when you say "mazel" you are not saying anything. It is "Mazel Tov" which means good luck and also congratulations. I've seen this a few times, and it irks me a bit. Use the phrases correctly, if you are going to use them.

The mazel is the main part of the soul that shines down upon us.

  7. Cayenne, u must not watch Andy Cohen. He says mazes ALL THE TIME and made it very popular. Stop getting your panties in a bunch. It's the same as mazel tov it's just a popular slang of it. You are on a gossip site you know...

    You are mistaken.

"The Talmud seems to contradict itself on the issue. In one place it states, 'On your birthday, your mazel is strong.' Elsewhere the Talmud reports, 'The Jewish people are not subject to mazel'

The word mazel literally means 'a drip from above.' Mazel can have different connotations depending on its context, but they are all connected to this basic definition—something trickling down from above.

The signs of the zodiac are called mazalot. Jewish tradition sees the constellations on high as directing the destiny of individuals and nations down below. Thus mazel is the influence dripping down from the stars. (Over the years, bad or good mazel came to mean luck more than destiny.) When the Talmud says that we are not subject to mazel, it means that we are not limited to our destiny; rather our own actions determine our fate."

Additionally, Cayenne, mazel tov is not a proper noun and should not be capitalized. Write the phrase correctly if you are going to use it.
