Blind Item #6
This foreign born B list mostly movie actor is making a living off franchises right now. The biggest one ever and another one that has an installment very soon. He says that while filming the biggest one ever he had to have sex with one of the older male leads who is openly gay. Our younger actor said it was expected of all the gay men on the set. A kind of ritual that kept the older actor supplied with young men for nearly a decade.
I have no clue. But...yikes! O_o
ReplyDeleteIDK about "ever"...Ian McKellen/Potter Franchise?
ReplyDeleteGonna guess(?) the Hobbitt- Ian McKellan/ Auden Turner
ReplyDeleteDunno
Star Wars maybe but don't know cast
*Aiden
ReplyDeleteJason Isaacs for younger actor
ReplyDeleteSomeone from one of the Hobbit movies?
ReplyDeleteorlando bloom. Hobbit. Pirates of carribean.
ReplyDeletei also thought of McKellan, he did do the Lord of the Rings movies as well. But can't think of any other gay actors there
ReplyDelete"Our younger actor said it was expected of all the gay men on the set." Apparently that means our younger actor is gay too, so it's not Aiden Turner.
ReplyDeleteExcept there's that whole thing where HE WASN'T IN IT. =\
ReplyDeleteI don't think Jason Isaacs or Orlando Bloom are gay either.
ReplyDeleteThat's also how I interpreted the statement.
ReplyDeleteElijah Wood?
ReplyDeleteJason Isaacs is out, no?
ReplyDeletenvm not foreign born
ReplyDeleteYeah...no.
ReplyDeleteIts time for me to STFU, no?
YES!
Aiden Turner isn't gay. But half the cast of The Hobbit was - Lee Pace is an out gay actor and he and Armitage have been an item for a long time although Armitage refuses to acknowledge it. Bloom also isn't gay. But over the last ten years . . . that could only mean Potter (Turner wasn't in Potter) or LOTR/Hobbit. I don't think Isaacs is gay, either, married with two children. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteExcept the only franchises that have an installment coming out soon are THOR: Age of Ultron and The Avengers. Those alone constitute 4 films over a good bit of years . . . but who would the older actor be?
ReplyDeleteWithout speculating on who this blind concerns, I'll point out that X-Men is still a going franchise, and has been for more than a decade, and there's a Grey Eminence who is gay who is a vital part of it.
ReplyDeleteOrlando Bloom only moved back into his apartment at 155 Franklin Street in NY after McKellen (who had been squatting in Peter Jackson's penthouses; that's why Taylor Swift had such a hard time getting a look at the place before buying it) moved out. Guess he got tired of having to bow down before Gandalf's wand.
ReplyDeleteI can totally see McKellen, who is the one actor who ever was, ahem, straightforward about how gay the arts are ("I went into the theater because I heard there ware a lot of queers there"), transacting business this way. Let's not forget he was in "Apt Pupil" with (alleged) predator Bryan Singer directing (alleged) victim Brad Renfro, after all.
Ironic if Taylor's desire to be very close to Karlie Kloss's kookies ;) made the building safe Orlando's somewhat-gay-but-not-all-the-damn-time-for-YOU-Ian ass again. Ah, real estate! Location, location, location, as they say. :)
Hmm, I was thinking something like one of the Marvel movies, like Avengers. Someone like Jeremy Renner, who has been in the Avengers, and Bourne, and the Mission Impossible movies? If the "younger actor" was in his 20s, the 44 year old Renner would be "older", no?
ReplyDeleteSo, someone from Avengers / Renner?
@Jonathan, and Bryan Singer is the director.. the dots connect themselves for that one, lol
ReplyDeleteluke evans would fit!
ReplyDeleteI always have trouble with the "ever" classification. Ever means different things to a 20 year old, a 35 year old and a 50 year old.
ReplyDeleteThe biggest one EVER, ever is Star Wars, as Tricia mentioned.
Box office alone skews the stats because ticket prices are double now. It should be number of tickets sold over the entirety of a film's release as opposed to $$ earned.
I really must shut up.
I think it's hard to say that Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit doesn't count as a worthy contender for "Biggest Franchise Ever" by any sane count.
ReplyDeleteThought of him but Pace is younger (and prettier).
ReplyDeleteIt's the younger actor, not the older, who's in "two franchises", though. Also, Renner hasn't been making franchise films for "the better part of a decade". Avengers only came out in 2012. (Yes, he has a bit part in the first "Thor" which was 2009, but that seems to be stretching it.) And "the biggest franchise ever" has to be LotR/Hobbit; six films, $billions of receipts, and a clean sweep of the Oscars for "Return of the King". So definitely McKellen for the Old Predator, the younger man has to be "B-List" and foreign-born and in another franchise. Jason Isaacs was just in "Fury" and I haven't heard that many gay rumors about him. (Jason Statham, yes; Jason Isaacs, no.) And he's doing the "Dig" TV series, so not *just* his franchise movies. I still go with Bloom.
ReplyDeleteOf course, the flaw in my "Orlando Bloom" theory turns out to be that "Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Even MORE money!" isn't due out until 2017. McKellen will be in another franchise installment before Bloom is. ("X-Men: Apocalypse" is coming in May 2016) Even the Harry Potter spinoff "Fantastic Beasts" (November 2016, although Isaacs hasn't been announced for that) is going to be here sooner than Orlando next paycheck/role. Hmmm.
I don't have a good guess, but to consolidate things that could be considered big franchises and out "soon" (soon also potentially meaning either in full production or post-production as well as imminent release)--
ReplyDeleteStar Wars VII
Jurassic World
Comic Franchises (Avengers, Thor, etc)
For past ones, LOTR/Hobbit, Potter, Avengers, X-Men, Star Wars & Prequels, POTC, Fast & Furious
Also, Bloom has long been rumored to be bisexual.
Ian gets such love and respect from his co-stars, long long after the fact. I can't imagine this would be the case if there was such sexual coercion involved. I don't think it is him, although I do hope he's getting laid as often as he wants to.
Fast and Furious has a 7th installment (Kill.Me.Now.) coming very soon, it's true…but Evans was only in one of the first 6, isn't in part 7, and for Enty to say he makes his living only of franchise work ignores projects like "Dracula Untold" and "Immortals", which were bigger roles for Evans than his one "F&F" part. Still, Enty could be stretching things, I guess.
ReplyDeleteNow if only Vin Diesel was in "The Hobbit", we'd have a winner, for sure…
David Oyelowo who was in Rise of the Planet of the Apes and will be in Jurassic World which comes out in June. Not sure who the older openly gay actor is although John Lithgow and our asexual buddy Mr. franco were both in Rise.
ReplyDeleteOoops my bad, Pace is American.
ReplyDeleteYour comments have me LMAO,eeryday! :D
ReplyDeleteOscar Isaac? Born in Guatemala In the new Star Wars
ReplyDeleteHoult and McKellen. I'm sure Jackman has participated as well. I side eye Fassbender, although he's with a new chick hourly, I'm sure he's bent over for McQueen a few times.
ReplyDeleteOscar is also in the new Xmen filmabout to film.
ReplyDeleteAnd I want to point out that the other gay men might not be well known actors, they could be lesser known or extras.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good guess age/film wise although I don't think Hoult is out yet, is he, and is he making his living strictly from franchises now?
ReplyDeleteSoooo... I don't have the logic, but I can't help wondering if Alan Rickman, who was in Potter, or course, and Die Hard, might somehow be involved?
ReplyDeleteHe's not out yet but it's probably an open secret in Hollyweird. Not too familiar with his filmography. Let me rethink this one.
ReplyDelete+1
ReplyDeleteIsaacs would have been too old for the younger actor even in the early films, he's 51 now. I suspect if McKellan is the older actor he'd have been after younger meat than that.
ReplyDeleteWhy do I feel Sam Worthington and Avatar for this? I just don't know.
ReplyDeleteopenly gay male lead, dang it. nevermind.
ReplyDeleteI'm confused by this BI because the Harry Potter franchise is definitely the biggest one (from earnings perspective) and yet it didn't have an older openly gay actor.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, it looks like it points to LOTR/The Hobbit franchise and yet we have at least 2 other franchises higher than that one (Marvel Universe with Iron-man, Captain America, Thor and Avengers [not X-Men] and James Bond). But the clue is in 10 years, which definitely points to LOTR and The Hobbit. I would be very disappointed if Sir Ian has demanded or coerced young gay men to have sex with him during that period. There are only two young actors who were in both trilogies: Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom. But the way it is written it looks like it came from a bitter person who didn't want to have sex with the older actor and yet he was "forced" to?
So... if it's Sir In McKellen then maybe Adam Brown for the younger gay man? He was in The Hobbit and is now in the new Pirates Of The Carribean.
ReplyDeleteJason Issacs has been with his female partner (BBC documentary producer) for over 25 years now.
ReplyDeleteLuke Evans/Ian McKellen. Evans was in the last Fast and the Furious installment, and Hobbit trilogy.
ReplyDeleteHoult is in X-men and Mad Max...which will release summer 2015. But I truly hope this isn't Ian. And I really don't think X-men or Mad Max could be the fran. ever.
ReplyDeleteedit - biggest franchise ever
ReplyDeleteHere is my guess on the young actor: It must be Orlando Bloom, because only a bitter man who had a sex (and probably be remind of) with an older person and probably either not liked it or some other issue (unfulfilled promises) that could come up with such garbage. During Sir Ian's stay in NZ he was in relationship with much younger NZ artist, which was also mentioned on Sir Ian's web site. Of course they broke up after Sir Ian moved back to UK (the reason for break-up is unknown).

ReplyDeleteBond is the oldest franchise...
ReplyDeleteIan McKellen/ Hugo Weaving
